Stopped in for breakfast while in town on a business trip. Decent omelets (not burned!) - that's the biggest positive. Meh latte - too milky, couldn't taste much coffee. Service just as everybody says: one server was nice, the other pointedly ignored a polite request made three times as she stood behind the counter, stuffing her face with grapes. Wi-fi worked well. Would I go back? Probably not. If a cafe can't make good coffee, what's the point?
Review Source:Loved it here so much, we made 2 visits in one weekend! They have breakfast, lunch, dinner AND sell alcohol, I'm in love. The food is all super fresh and delicious, and for the most part, healthy. I love the vibe inside with mismatched seating and cool artwork on the walls. There is another room next to the main room with the drink bar that has music but it was nice to sit on the quieter side, still hear the music but be able to talk. I will be back here the next time I am in town for sure!
Review Source:This is my favorite place in Springfield to hang out. This place has a very artsy and cool vibe and attracts the kind of inquisitive young minds which I miss so much from places I've lived in days gone by. It's in the touristy zone of downtown, so it attracts locals and tourists alike.
The menu isn't terribly extensive but what they have is done right. The front page of their menu is based on the "paleo" Â diet which also means the options are gluten-free as well, which is nice considering there aren't many options in Springfield which advertise gluten-free menu options. The "meatza" is my favorite menu item- essentially pizza without the crust. I love that they offer such tasty, lighter options.
I also adore their for real deal espresso machine. The marshmallow mocha is to die for- nothing like a melted s'more in a cup. Delicious. Worthy of noting, they have gelato and baked goods here which look delicious, none of which I have tried.
So 2 reasons for giving this place only 4 stars: 1) The hours. Closes at 4 pm every night? This place has such potential to be a cool evening hangout for an acoustic show or even a local art show. 2) This is the big one- customer service! The management here is great, but the actual employees that run the counter leave room to be desired. I've actually walked up while 3 of them are standing there, discussing how to properly apply liquid eyeliner, and they blatantly ignored me for a solid 2 minutes before acknowledging I was even there. If you're going to be the neighborhood friendly coffee shop and keep the locals coming back, you've got to amp up the charm. Starbucks is right down the street, you know?
Overall, great place besides my belly achin. I'll continue to come back regularly.
Good concept but the service sux. Â This place takes way too long to get breakfast orders out. Â They almost made me late for class - I wound up leaving before getting my order and had to go back after class to get my refund of course. Â I tried them out again months later, ordered the 'turkey and avocado salad'. Â What I want to know is, who the hell serves a dish with brown avocados?!?!? WTF? Â Really? Â You have a restaurant and you have no clue as to how to keep your avocados from turning brown. Â Idiot Springfielders. Â Get a freakin clue.
Review Source:The options are fairly fresh and good for just a simple sandwich. Â The decor is cute and rummish sale pieces. Â I think our team would go more if the place had more options, but for once, I feel this is a place in Springfield, aside from Starbucks, were I wouldn't feel totally awkward coming in by myself with a book and just ordering coffee. Â
Vegan warning - No Soy for your coffee! Â But, can get a decent veggie sandwich.
The coffee is standard. Sandwiches and baked good are decent. The pizzas are great (when they aren't burnt). Customer service is usually fine (everyone who works there is so nice!). But the sandwiches are a little overpriced and service can be slow sometimes. Still, I have a soft spot for the place because it's warm and cozy in there.
Review Source:We stopped in on a Sunday around noon and regret spending almost $25 on two lattes, a blueberry muffin, two eggs with dry toast, and a half soup and sandwich combo. Â The staff is friendly with each other, but neglects the customers. Â The lattes were mediocre at best while the muffin was moist but bland. Â The eggs and toast were flavorless. Â And how can a restaurant with soup be out of crackers?!? Â The bread on the chicken salad sandwich was dry and stale while the lettuce was spoiled. Â If you do go to Andiamo, do not sit at a table near the open kitchen area: the staff eats chips out of the serving container and does other things that would make chef Gordon Ramsay have a hissy fit.
Review Source:My group really liked this place. The service was cheerful and helpful. We asked what the favorite salad and sandwich was on the menu and the counter help was enthusiastic about her suggestion so we ordered the turkey, avocado salad and the veggie sandwich on wheat. They even saw us eyeing the watermelon smoothie so without us asking the brought samples to our table. All the food was great including the fresh smoothie and coffee,
Review Source:Terrible customer service. We were standing infront of the counter and being totally ignored for almost 10 minutes. Did i mention the place had only one more customer behind me...... Ok lets talk about the breakfast.... I think the waiter forgot our order.... after waiting 30 minutes, I went to the counter to inquire about my omelet..(yes, i ordered an omelet 30 minutes ago... dont know if the chef was waiting for the chicken to hatch an egg before he could cook it).... I was told to repeat my order as there was some mixup.... and there was absolutely no apology..... after 10 minutes i got my omelet on a plate without any silver or bread.... I had to pay $1.50 for two slices of white bread...oh and my omelet was $7... so i actually paid $8.50 for two slices of bread and one mushroom omelet...
Now the final test... the taste.... Honestly, I am a reasonable person... if the food is good, i tend to forget the rest.... for a 7 dollar omelet, i expected it to be iron chef material... it turned out to be rubbery and bland... i had to put sauce to flavor it up.... i was so disappointed.... and to add to my misery, flies were all over the place... cant you do something about the flies....I kept on wondering if the kitchen had flies too since it was an open kitchen connected to the dinning area...
I am not even going to give it a second chance....
The ambiance inside Andiamo's is pretty average. It's pretty typical for a coffee shop yet leans toward a pretty commercial vibe.
As far as service goes, I guess it really depends on which day you go in. I have had both wonderful service and lukewarm service. (And once, a very snobby 20-something explain to me condescendingly what a "real" machiatto was despite no display of ignorance in that department).
The coffee was good. Not great, but good. I would say the food is about the same. Prices are fair for a downtown coffee shop. I've tried both the pizzas and salads and would order both again. The gelato is delicious. But c'mon- it's gelato- how could it not be!
If you're looking for a quick bite to eat or want to relax with a cup of coffee and are in the neighborhood, I would recommend it.
The place is very inviting. the decor and ambiance is wonderful. It has such an ecclectic flavor going on in this shop.
Live music was a nice surprise for a late lunch. The food was simple and plain. Decent enough pizza and veggie sandwich.
The coffee on the other hand was very week and very boring.
Would go back for the surroundings but would hope the bad coffee is just a fluke.
