We had a great server, her name Christina I think, she was fun and suggested great tasting dishes, the eggplant appetizer was yummy, cocktails good, the pizza very good.  I would certainly go back here

I love a place that concentrates on one thing and delivers, and that is Anthony's in a nutshell. On the wall is a sign that says "Warning! Our pizza is well done", and that is the truth. Great pizza.
Note: We had a very sensible cheese and sausage, not any of the house specials (arugula & capicola pizza anyone?) off the menu, so perhaps someone more adventurous could try one of those.

How could this place not get five stars.

The pizza is a given that it is really good. But you got to try the ribs. Like nothing I have never tried before. Wow were they good.

One of the constants in the universe is there is always a first time for everything. My once reliable pizza  refuge has gone sour on me, at least at this location.

All I wanted was a simple small pizza with olives and mushrooms. More or less the same pizza from Anthony's I am accustomed to, soft crust rich with tomato sauce, cheese, and fresh juicy vegetables. But not this time, they could not do that, they decided to give me something resembling a chemistry experiment gone bad.

I have been to this location before, and I never had a problem with my pizzas. But for some odd reason, this Anthony's location decided to give me a burnt pizza this time around. The condiments on the top of the pizza were dried out and shriveled. The crust on the pizza had the texture of a  UPS shipping box.

I did not realize the pizza was burnt until half way home, being this Anthony's is not close to my house I did not return it.

Not even the beautiful customer service friendly young blonde's and brunette's that work at this  Anthony's can make me come back to this location. They are on my no "return "list for ever.

The good news is the Anthony's near my house has not let me down yet, and they also have beautiful blonde's and brunettes with impeccable service.

Its 2:00 am and I am having multiple extended meetings in the throne room...

I don't know what it is about Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza locations, but the staff at every single one I've been to (4 to date) has been exceptional.  This one by the airport in Ft. Lauderdale is no exception.

I live in Miami but most of my friends fly in to FLL to visit.  I make an effort to take them to Anthony's before their flight on the way out every time, and every one of them has enjoyed it as much as I have.

The last two times I've been to this location,  I've eaten at the bar and been served by the bartender Natalie.  She is easily one of the most friendly and professional bartenders I've ever come across.  Not only is she quick and professional, but she is always exceptionally friendly.  She takes the time to explain menu items, recommend alternatives, and always has our food out quickly and with a smile.

And, the food.  Amazing.  In all my trips to various Anthony's I've sampled about 75% of their menu.  Everything I've had has been amazing.  From the broccoli rabe and sausages, to the meatballs and marinara, pizza with finger peppers, even the salads and bread - all of them have been incredible.   This place serves true Italian comfort food at affordable prices with exceptional service.  I will go back to Anthony's every chance I get.

I've enjoyed fantastic pizza in Chicago, New York, California (we try REALLY hard to make good pizza!) and plenty of other places.   It's now all in second place, at best.  The slogan on the wall at Anthony's says, "Warning, our pizza is...well done."  Understatement.

The pizza was fantastic.  Amazing selections and combinations.  Also, the simplicity might only be eclipsed by the left coast's In-N-Out Burgers...pizza, wings, a couple of salads, beer and wine.  And all good.

But the win here is the service.  The place was packed on a Friday night around the holidays.   It was packed when we arrived, packed when we ate and packed when we left.  And the service was spectacular.  Everywhere you turned, there were helpful eyes on your table...all you had to do was look up and someone would catch your eye, cruise over, and get whatever you needed.  Not in a premature, creepy, "Hi, welcome to [Department Store], what can I help you with"-way, but in a "No worries, we won't make you wait until it's 'your table's turn' again to get you that beer or that side of whatevers"-way.

They have a list of toppings for make-your-own pizzas and then a bunch of crazy-good looking specials with other toppings.  I loved their answers when I asked if we could get some of those toppings from the Specials pizzas on a build-our-own pizza: "You can have pretty much whatever you want."

Super casual and comfortable staff there.   Friendly, but not like the fake-bro-friendly where you know they're trying to goose their tip.   These people were legit enough that I almost right-footed my father-in-law out of his seat to give it to the servers to hang with us.  If a restaurant deserved to have pompous or pretentious servers, this might be the place, but there was no sign of it.  After about 2.2 seconds, it seemed like they knew us and treated us as regulars.

Everyone was there...old, young, old-that-thought-they-were-young, kids, shorts-n-t-shirt crowd, button-down-and-khakis crowd, wine-drinkers, beer-drinkers, whatevers.  The wait to get the table went too quickly...we were sitting on the sofas outside with our drinks when they came and got us.  They even had someone out in the parking lot helping people find spots if the tight lot was packed at the time.

I heard there are other good spots in Ft. Lauderdale for dinner.  I'm not interested.  I need to get back to Anthony's for another arugula, prosciutto and sweet pepper pizza.  After I try more of the rest of their options.

I just ate the most greasiest piece of shit that I've ever eaten in my life. I ordered the Italian tuna salad sandwich on focaccia bread. This heart attack on a plate made me feel like I just ordered 10 Big Macs from McDonald's. Might as well have injected it into my artery. They also don't have enough choices on their menu. I'd like to see more Italian dishes. They don't even have a side of pasta. Very disappointed in Anthony's because, normally, their pizza, salad, and wings are very good.

It's been a while since I been here, but just found it crossing my mind. This place is one of my favorites in Florida. I loved the wings with the grilled onions and focaccia bread! Something about those sweet onions and smoky charred wings on top of the bread just did it for me. I am also in love with the Philly cheesesteak pizza! Needing to get me some soon!

Anthony's... Anthony's... Anthony's... WHERE HAVE U BEEN ALL MY LIFE? *Sigh*

Listen, my friend Emma L. is here, like, ALLLLLL the time. So after, like,  her 15 thousandth check in since she became my friend, like, 2 weeks ago, I began to wonder. Either the food was really good, or, well... the food was really good. So, when Emma invited me to lunch, ya know I was going, right? :)

Guess what? The food is not really good. It's SUPER DUPER good. I know what you're thinking? "Lavi... you've only been there once. How good could it be?" My answer: VERY FRIGGIN GOOD! Listen, I've only tried 2 things, meatballs and pizza with fresh mozz. That's enough. I'm SOLD. I could really kick myself, too, cuz I work about a mile away and my co-workers have been offering to take me here for 6 years and I refused because I thought they had no taste. This is the ONLY time I can say they were right.

Oh, and I almost forgot, the staff is SUPER DUPER good as well. Well, not just good. More like awesome. Our waitress, Angelina, is so sweet, I think she's made at least 50% of sugar. And, then there's Jeremy, the GM, and the lovely, illustrious Emma L.'s bf. This cool guy made our pizza with his bare heads. Granted, I'm sure he does that a lot, but I'm conceited so I think it's pretty special! lol

Bottom Line: Get here NOW. STUFF UR FACE. Send me a compliment for steering you in the right direction! Your welcome!

I am over this place.  Every time we order take out from them they are unable to get it right, nor are they either apologetic or compensate us for the issue.  This isn't rocket science...it is PIZZA.  For example, 2 weeks ago we orded a pozza and they didn't bother to cook our order.  We had to wait 45 minutes for the pizza with difficulty parking the car and the valet getting torked with us "running in" to get the pizza.  Obviously there was no running in as they didn't bother to cook it.  Today, we orded a large calzone and a salad.  Again not rocket science...this is a restaurant and they should know how to read the order...nope.  Small calzone even though we paid for a large.  Additional 20 minutes waiting to cook another that we will never get back.  That is it...I will order pizza from New River Pizza and be done.

Tried Anthony's for the first time tonight, carryout. I was disappointed. My husband picked up the pizza and brought it home, and it was merely okay. Perhaps it's more of a dine-in experience? There are so many incredible little pizza joints in the area, and I honestly thought this pizza would rock my world, what with all the reviews. The ingredients seemed to be quality, the dough was good, and the sauce had a nice flavor as well. However, this pizza did not "wow" me. We also ordered a salad, but the dressing provided was nothing more than a small container of olive oil. As a first time consumer, I don't think I'll be returning any time soon.

I recently visited Anthony's for the first time, and I was impressed with the experience. The restaurant is well decorated and suitable for either a date night or a good time with friends.
The pizza selections are numerous, and you can mix and match. We ordered a half cheese, half meatball & ricotta pizza, along with a lunch salad. The salad was big, and the pizza arrived with an appropriately crispy crust. I was most impressed by the light amount of grease on the pizza--you don't feel the need to dab a napkin on top.
Strangely, all sodas are served with a glass of ice and the can, which I found...low class. Please get a soda fountain so we can have more room on the table.

My husband and I LOVE Anthony's, especially the Fort Lauderdale location. Every time we go, we are treated like family. The food is fantastic (especially the salad) and the service is wonderful! Melissa is our favorite server; she is very accommodating and so much fun. She always knows exactly what we want before we even order! Jeremy, the manager, has always made us feel so welcome. We truly enjoy eating here, and we do often. Even the busboy and hostess always have a smile on their face! We are thankful for a place that offers GREAT food and GREAT service (which is hard to find in Fort Lauderdale!).

The service was efficient and friendly. Our order was taken right away, food was delivered promptly, drinks refilled & plates cleared immediately in between courses.  Definitely have to try the wings...they are char-grilled and come with caramelized onions & focaccia. Pizza was good...fresh ingredients although crust is definitely well done. We ordered small wings & small pizza and still couldn't finish everything.

The pizza was not bad at all, but I have to say the server was by far the most miserable person I have ever encountered in any restaurant I have ever been to, anywhere! This made my review of what would have been 4 stars a 3. The manager was not much better - he eyeballed me like I was dressed funny or a big cow - while he looked at me, he was talking to another server and laughing. Not a good thing to do in a restaurant. I am not insecure, nor am I paranoid, it was just a very weird situation that only got worse as the time passed. The hostess, on the other hand, could not have been sweeter and would do well as a server that's for sure.

I had the Margherita Pizza which was very good - the baked chicken wings looked very good, but I don't usually go to an Italian place for wings, unless it's chicken limone, so I opted for a pizza - the house Salad was excellent! I love Chick peas and the dressing and hard boiled egg made it a perfect 10!

I realize everyone has a bad day, God knows I have had my share, but guess what, SNAP OUT OF IT!

When I asked when we were first seated if she was mad or is there something wrong, she simply replied, "I'm serious and just want to make sure the order is correct"......sorry, but this is not an attorney/client consultation, this is a RESTAURANT where people want to go so they don't have to eat at home, so aside from getting the order correct, the JOB of the server is to make them feel COMFORTABLE and WELCOMED - Not a bother. She never smiled once and I felt very uncomfortable the entire time.

She also passed our table 4 times and looked at my empty glass of water each time - I was only drinking water with my meal so I was very thirsty after 20 minutes. I had to wave down another waiter for a refill, even though he brought the pitcher to his table only and also never bothered to fill any empty glasses on his way back to the bar area.

I am not a hard person to please. You have to be REALLY be a bad server to piss me off. She did that to me.

I am positive they will do well without my cash and this place is certainly a gold mine without a doubt. I am certain they are going to expand towards the East into the vacant spaces because they are so busy and successful but hell will freeze before I ever go back - Sorry, I just can't do it.

    Good atmosphere. Good service.

We ordered salad and Anthony's traditional pizza and we got an okay salad, and about 3 1/2 lbs of salt... in the form of pizza dough, with tomato sauce and cheese on top.

What a salty surprise! I'd recommend exploring other places.

Was in town to take a cruise. We stayed the night before in a nearby hotel. When asking the locals where to get a great lunch the overwhelming response was this restaurant!

It would be a five star review if we only ordered the pizza, but the wings which were really being hyped were pretty boring overall. The pizza however.... oh man. That was the BEST pizza I've ever had in my life. The hubby and I still recall it fondly, lol.

We got the Paul and Young Ron with half sweet peppers and half hot peppers. It came with mini meatballs and sausage and ricotta. If we didn't live over 1000 miles away I would return often.

Thanks for a great meal to remember FL by!

PS I posted pics of the meal if you care to see....

Coal fired pizza is one of those fads that is seeing a meteoric rise in the number of purveyors. For most of these restaurants, the entire concept is just a gimmick to draw in a large number of unknowing people to eat the same, tired old pizza that anyone can get at any average pizza joint. Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza is not one of those joints. I must say that I am a fan of the full ambiance as well as the food. Over my multiple visits I have ordered the following items:

    Pepperoni Pizza
    Roasted Cauliflower Pizza
Meatballs with Ricotta Cheese and Flatbread
    Ribs
    Chicken Wings

Everything goes through the coal fired oven at some point. The meatballs and ricotta don't have too much filler and taste really good with the sauce. The ribs fall off the bones and pick up the flavor of the onions, peppers and vinegar. The chicken wings are cooked with onions and I really do love their flavor when they are slightly seared.

The two things that stand out with the traditional pizza are the crust and the sauce.  The crust is always cooked well done and borders on being burnt. In many instances it actually is burnt. A little too burnt for my taste; but it is balanced by the sauce. The sauce has a peppery and tangy taste to it that is very reminiscent of the sauce from a Chicago style pizza. I really do enjoy the overall flavor.

Out of the two pizzas, though, I must say that I enjoyed the Roasted Cauliflower Pizza. For anyone with a nightshade allergy, this is the pizza for them since there is no red sauce. This is a white pizza through and through. The flavors were all there and they were great. I want to try it one or two more times just to see how consistent it is, unfortunately I have to find someone willing to eat it with me.

All food aside, the service is always spot on: quick, courteous, and accurate. They really know how to turn tables properly at this establishment.

Had the Roasted Cauliflower pizza, which I enjoyed, but will certainly come back again and again and again for the Eggplant Marino.  The eggplant is sliced thinly so it's almost like a lasagna....so good.  A new favorite dish.

I'm skeptical of any pizzeria with an Italian-American name -- Joe's, Anthony's, Tony's, Sal's -- they all usually have mediocre pizza and awful salads. Why not just sell pizza? At least in Jersey we have Italian Cheeseburgers, but, oh well.

At Anthony's, the pizza's okay, nothing special. The wing's and salads are surprisingly...good. The service is attentive, again, nothing special. If you really want 4 or 5-star authentic-Italian pizza, then I'd hit up Panaretto's on SE 17th street (not far from Anthony's).

I usually get their fresh tomato and basil pie -- you'll enjoy the slight char and great flavor -- they have pretty decent wings, too.

? Note ? There's very limited parking space. In fact, they have a guy out there directing people in and out of the lot. If you're no Jean Russo, then polish on your parking skills before arriving.

Walk right in to a good looking welcoming staff ready to serve you. There's a huge bar on your right as you walk in,  ready for you to drink and eat.
I came right of the plane to come straight to Anthony's. I sat at the back of the restaurant with my man , and Michael (Michaelangelo, like the artist painter) the owner sat down and chatted with us...very cool nice guy.  The art on the walls are fun to look at,  love the Beatles and nostalgic memorablia.

We ordered tomato, soo yummy and fresh mozzarella salad and it had some diced basil and roasted red and green peppers and onions. I added Balsamic vinegar. The tables are well equiped with Oil, Vinegar, salt, pepper, Hot Chili Flakes, and parmesean cheese.

For the lunch I ordered the fantastic Anthony's Classic Italian salad and had it topped off with Roast Beef. The salad is made with Romaine and has a delicious vinegary-dressing and came with Gargonzola Cheese on the side, lots of Kalamata olives and Porcini marinated peppers.  The Roast beef has added delicious spices and roasted in the coal oven...it was to die for!

I have ordered the Broccoli Rabe & Sausage it was soo good nice tasting sausage and the broccoli rabe was cooked in the olive oil.
The Wings are another must try. Baked in the Coal oven and smothered in onions and comes with fresh baked Focaccia bread makes it a delicacy.

The Arugula Pizza is my fav. Its a traditional tomato sauce, mozzarella pizza topped with Arugula. The Arugula changes the flavor of the pizza so slightly its heaven on the palate, and the pizzas always comes nice and crispy..there is no other way!
And Yes it is a masterpiece you MUST TRY!

This review is location specific.....ONLY for the Anthony's @ 2203 S Federal Highway

The other Anthony's we've been to so many times are fantastic...

Ft Lauderdale on the other hand....is like a completely different restaurant.  We stopped for dinner en route home from the beach...2 parents...3 kids...OBVIOUSLY from the beach.  There were maybe 7 tables seated.

I order wings, meatballs & 2 pizzas...i tell the guy we are starving, just bring them out whenever they come up.  meatballs come out 1st....13  minutes later the wings come out

25 MINUTES after the wings....we still dont have any pizza.  our sheet for brains waiter thought he was working at Anthony's Runway 84 & staggered our entire order...didnt put the wings in until the meatballs came out and then didnt put the pizza in until the wings came

i asked the female manager what the problem was & she said "this is the standard wait time based on the ticket".  i said that i understand it is....but this guy should have ordered the pizzas 40 minutes ago.

she then told me that ours was the next pizza out...i said we are leaving if it isnt...it wasnt....so we left

we have been to Anthony's in weston, coral springs, pembroke pines, aventura AND orlando...and have always had a great time & a waiter or waitress w/ common sense.

the fact that the manager backed him up was most disappointing

if only the staff at ft lauderdale Anthony's was as good as the pizza

This place could be four stars, but the chicken was dry, and the pizza just seemed to have the ingredients thrown on.
Some bites had way to much, others had nothing.
They nail the crust, and sauce, but came up short because they just threw it together.
Also step up and serve fountain drinks.

I have been here about 3 or 4 times and my experience has always been exactly the same: suuuuper long wait, relatively fast service and good pizza.

The good pizza is to be expected, however my 4 star review stems from the surprisingly delicious salad. Why? Cause lets face it, most pizza places have ridiculously sucky salads. They put a whole head of lettuce with 2 peppers and one whole tomato and they toss it with nasty ranch. Bleh.

But not Anthony's. Their simple (and only salad) composed of lettuce, onions, feta cheese, olives and chick peas (tossed in a slightly oily dressing) is light yet flavorful and the perfect combo to a pizza coming up next. I emptied that salad bowl in seconds.

After such a good start, your night can only get better as their small selection of pizzas are also pretty delicious. The meatball and sausage pizza with sweet peppers is probably their biggest one and most flavorful as it has tons of ingredients... and its 99% meat. The eggplant one is also tasty and the meatball/sausage with HOT peppers is quite dangerous as they put entire peppers there, ready to scorch your entire inner workings. Finally, as simple and tasty as the arugula pizza is, I don't recommend it unless you are planning on finishing the whole thing at the restaurant - it doesn't quite work as a 'leftovers' pizza.

Top it up with a couple of beers and wine and you have a winning combination. Oh and if it looks full, Anthony's has 3 different parking areas around that neighborhood, so keep on looking!

From our previous trip to the area, we knew that Anthony's was the place for pizza.

We went here for dinner and though it was packed, we only had a short wait.  I was pleased to see that someone here knew their brews and had a solid list of craft beers for us.  Lagunitas, Magic Hat and Bell's were all there.  None of the Bud Light Lime or Lite crap-man up.

We had a few rounds of the two hearted and we each got pizzas.  Straight margarita for the lady, the Paul and Young Ron for me-Meatball, sausage, hot peppers and ricotta.  We both liked our pizzas and devoured them.  They had ample toppings, the cheese and sauce were good and the coal fired crust was perfect.

Great pizza and great beer, winning.

You can sit at a table, bar or host a tailgate party.. not sure about tailgate party yet. But the bar is a good spot for a solo traveller. Lots of special bottled beers and the staff know their beer.
Pizza was amazing good ingredients, mushrooms that tasted like mushrooms and tasty cheese.. I really good pizza.
On a proper coal fired oven.

Now when I went in it was middle week and a little quite the Air-Con was join over time it was about 15/16 degrees centigrade in there and the air was blowing right down on the bar where my pizza sat.. By the time I had my last slice the pizza was cold. Which is a shame beacuse it tasted great hot..(So I downgraded this from 4 star to 3 star)

I did tell the lady and she agreed, she said when its quiet it always gets cooler in there on a busy Ball Game or Fri/Sat night it apparently gets warmer and so your pizza doesn't freeze.
Seems like someone can't control the AIr-Con?

One table outside to eat at or just get a takeout.

This place should really be called "Anthony's Coal Fired Wings, and Pizza."  The wings are frankly delicious.  They're marinated in rosemary, chargrilled, poured over focaccia, and then covered with caramelized onions.

Tasty wings, sweet onions, and fresh bread.

I am already jonesing for them, and there's no location near me.  It may get so bad that I'll have to walk back to Lauderdale, but I hear there's a location in New Jersey, so maybe I'll walk there.

Mucho thanks to the Yelpers who recommended this place and the wings.

We also ordered a cheese pizza and the meatballs.  Pizza was fine. For the experts out there, it's Jersey restaurant style as opposed to pizzeria.  (The latter has more cheese and a little thicker crust.)  It was very good, but as I said--it's the wings.

The meatballs were large, covered in a fresh red sauce and served with dollops of creamy ricotta. They were well done, high quality, but strange in this sense.  I took my first bite, and (I'm not exaggerating) I thought, "Hmm, Chef Boyardee."

Really. Imagine what the original Boyardee might have served in his restaurant a zillion years ago, and that's what they taste like. I mentioned this out loud, and my son said, "My God Dad, you're right!"

Did I mention the wings? Oh, there are ribs too. We didn't order them, but if they are anything close to the wings, I might feel a tear coming on.

Somewhere in one of these reviews, I waxed poetic about how wings should be cooked.

Sometimes it's great to be wrong.

No need to do a lengthy review. The pizzas are awesome. While the coal-fire creates a great pizza, I really like the oil that you can taste on the outer edges of the pizza. The ricotta topping is a sleeper and worth a try. I did try the new addition of the cauliflower pizza. I was not won over by it. It is a white pizza topped with Anthony's cauliflower (the same cauliflower you find at Runway 84) and garlic. It is not bad, but just seems to be missing one ingredient to make it really satisfying and something you want to order every time.

The winner in mind my is the tuna sandwich. This is a sleeper menu item. The sandwich, which is wrapped in the same bread that makes the pizza crust, is filled with arugula and tuna (packed in oil, not water). The combination of the bitter leaf with the tuna packed in oil is a killer combination.

I can't think of much that is not good here. The wings are great, the ribs are great, and of course the ice cold salad with Gorgonzola is awesome.

If you are going here for a work day lunch, be sure to consider some of the new lunch items, like the individual pizza. It is more than enough for lunch and is a bargain at roughly $8.

I was literally writing this review in my head as I ate. :) I'm pregnant and have YET to say "I'm eating for two"... but I tell you what - - THIS PLACE made me eat for two!!

    WOW!!!! What a great experience!

Ambiance - awesome! love the dark wood and warm walls, felt like I was at a place nicer than just a pizzeria. LOVED all of the music and sports memorabilia on the walls. TV's were all around - so you could still catch the game.

FOOD - loved the salad!!! LOVED the pizza!!! We happen to drive past this place while we were in town on vacation, so of course I yelped and found that it was rated VERY highly. We knew it was a must-try. And we were NOT dissapointed. Before we left we were talking about whether or not we wanted to get one to go, or just go back again before we leave. Ha Ha.

My husband said something that I had to laugh at... "I'm in Pizza Bliss".

Enjoy this fab pizza place with great ambiance!

I really love bringing guests here because it has such a "neighborhood" feel to it.  In a time where most venues cater to the touristy spenders, this place really makes an effort to have you come back.

The menu is limited - but you go there knowing what you're ordering: awesome salad + super thin pizza + tasty chicken wings.  It seems that people either love or hate charcoal pizza.  Lucky for me I love it :)  Sharing a large house salad and a pizza is a great, not too heavy dinner for 2.

The wine menu offers a good variety and range of prices.  They have some really good inexpensive bottles.  This is a popular place, so you might have to wait a bit to get seated.

Thank goodness I don't live close to this place.  I don't know how the neighbors can deal with that wonderful smell of coal fired pizza wafting through the air at all times.  Even after devouring one of their delicious pies as we were walking to the parking lot across the street, that smell made me want to turn around and walk right back through the door like a moth to a flame.

I've eaten at some of the best pizza spots in New York, like Lombardi's and Grimaldi's.  My standards for true coal oven pizza are pretty high.  Anthony's is pretty darn good.  Although not quite as good as those two, it's just a hair below it.  And that's nothing to be ashamed of.

We ordered a pie with quite a few toppings.  I knew this would be a risk with such a thin crust, but I just couldn't make up my mind on what to leave out.  We had pepperoni, sausage, meatball, mushroom, and sweet peppers, topped with fresh shredded basil.  What I didn't expect was how much of each of those toppings they would put on.  Usually on a thin crust there is only so much surface space and that limits your toppings.  Anthony's thinks in 3 dimensions.  Just pile toppings on top of toppings.  The result was that we needed a knife and fork for this pie.  I recommend just picking a couple of toppings or perhaps having them make half the pie one way and half the other.

The problem is, what do you leave off, they were all so good.  Perhaps the meatballs.  Rather than slices of meatball that laid down flat they were more like mini meatballs.  They were good, but didn't really add anything to the pie.  The sweet peppers were green and red bell peppers that had been marinated ahead of time.  The mushrooms were sauteed first with lots of garlic before being put on the pie.  The pepperoni was fairly crunchy, with very little grease.  It made me wonder if it too had been cooked ahead of time.  But perhaps it was just their extremely hot oven that crisped it up.  As with any great cooking, each ingredient tasted great on it's own.  So many places just throw stuff on a pie and think it will just cook in the few minutes it is in the oven.

With so many toppings the cheese got kind of lost.  I saw some pizzas coming out with melted fresh mozzarella on it, just like some of those famous New York pies have.  I assumed that all their pizzas were made with that, but not so.  I will go that route next time.  Their sauce was nice and tomatoey with small pieces of tomato that hadn't been pureed.  The thin crust got a little soggy in the middle because of all of the toppings, but the outside ring had a nice char to it.  That's the signature flavor of a coal oven pizza.

This location is the original, but Anthony's has become a chain and is expanding fast out of Florida and into other states.  This is usually where pizza and all restaurants for that matter, start to slip.  If they can pull it off, they would be the first to bring that New York pizza taste, to the rest of the country.  Living in Los Angeles, I hope they make it out that way soon.  I and the rest of my LA yelping friends will be waiting for them.

Oh and one more note...this location is loud loud loud.  It may be easier to text each other than talk.  Not a good date spot unless you just want to nod with a silly grin on your face and pretend you heard what your date said, then ask a question that they just gave you the answer to....."so that's how I came to move from New York"....."Oh....so where are you from?"

Wow.  Ok, if you have followed any of my reviews, you must know that I'm a bit of a pizza fanatic.  I am in Fort Lauderdale for meetings, so my coworkers and I stopped into Anthony's after I saw all the great Yelp reviews.  And oh, Yelpers, you were so right!!!!
The pizza is absolutely fantastic.  I think it might be at the top of my list.  The mozzarella-tomato-basil pizza (no sauce) was hands-down the best.  I thought I wouldn't like the no-sauce aspect, but oh--- it was SO GOOD.
The salad we started with was yummy, too.  It had a great variety- everything from chickpeas to tomatoes to olives- and the dressing was tangy.  It was also $8.95 and plenty for the four of us.

I thought about docking the stars to 4 because of the atmosphere.  The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly, but it was LOUD.  Grated it was lunch rush hour, but we had to almost shout to speak with each other across the table.  Maybe there's a way to make it a little quieter? In the end, though, the fact that this was quite possibly the best pizza I've ever eaten won out.  Five stars.  If you're in the area, please give it a try.  You won't be sorry! :)

    Perfection!

OK so I know this place is all about the pizza but I can't go with out ordering the wings. Baked to perfection with all sorts of zesty seasonings. Wow. The pizza is real deal, ask for it well done for an extra crispy crust. Even their salads are good with fresh Gorgonzola and Italian dressing.

Easy choice. Make it a regular!

When we had to go pick up the Marathon Packet in Ft. Lauderdale, I said "Too bad we don't know of a good place to eat.. .........wait YELP!! For sure we can absolutely find a great place to eat through YELP!"  Was I right or WHAT?!!?!!!!!!!!

Through YELP I found he absolute best pizza in South Florida!

My new love, thy name is ANTHONY! To thee l shall be faithful..

Lets start from the beginning.. OK I don't know how bad the tiny parking lot can be when busy, it was 4PM when we went.  It was not bad.. but again not peak hour.

The hostess seemed HAPPY to see us - imagine that!  THEN the server Jose was a real sweetheart - all smiles and everything, I just wanted to pinch his cheeks, pick him up put him in my purse take him home, until my husband pointed out that this would  be highly inappropriate.  Besides someone might just miss him.  So service  -  5 STARS.

Then the decor... perfect. Not pretentious but not cheapy.  For us who love the Godfather Movies, there are plenty posters on the walls (I am stealing the one with The Godfather and his 3 sons).. l sat facing a wall and there was a pic of 'ol blue eyes staring at me.  Kinda creeped me out with that "hey baby "look while l was trying to converse with my man.

Now the food... WOW.. the perfect coal brick pizza. Crisp and delicious, the toppings superb.  So good in fact, that our 12 year old who doesn't love olives nor onions, stole my pizza, and left me her cheese. SO very worth saving your apetite all day for.  We are definitely returning even though we have to drive 45 minutes or more to get there.  YES, it is that good....
