El Tamarindo Cafe

I have a friend that lives not far away, and we like to grab dinner here before heading back to his place to catch a cab to Las Olas or The Hard Rock.  I love skirt steak, and this place does it well.

Is that Italian on the menu ?  

We were looking for cuban food close to the airport so we could make our flight.  This one is fortunately quite close to the airport !

And we were on the lookout for some cuban food (our cuban food in so cal consists of portos and habana).

Once we got through the pasta dishes (pasta ?  I know right)  we made it to the skirt steak with the chimichurri sauce, carne asada and fried steak.

Of the items we tried, the skirt steak and carne asada were the standouts.  Excellent flavor in the meat and good tenderness to it.  Except next time I will do the plaintains over beans as my side dish.

Was there last Friday night with my fiancé and an out of town guest...the food was superb. Had the Chilean sea bass . Grilled perfectly.  The surprise was the appetizers: ceviche , empleada, and the tamale..estupendo !  Even snuck a couple of bites from my finances skirt steak with chimichura. Great treat
