Joe's Cafe

Went here for breakfast twice since we arrived in ft. Lauderdale.  The food is really good. I really liked their french toast.  

When we got back from our cruise we went back for lunch and had the gyros.  They were awesome.  I'm going to miss this place when I'm home.

At first glance, this place looked like a bit of a tired old diner.  It didn't exactly have me excited about dropping by for lunch.

I will admit that I was a bit surprised when we received our food.  It was really well done.

I ordered the lox platter.  They were pretty generous with the lox and the tomatoes were beautiful and thick slices--a beautiful compliment to the lox.  

My partner ordered the tuna salad sandwich with hard boiled eggs.  It sounds weird, but he said it tasted really good and there was a ton of tuna in the sandwich.  His french fries were also tasty.

Definitely look past the decor and give the food a try.  We certainly were pleased.

Decent enough for a breakfast place near the beach.   Doing a staycation nearby, we found Joe's on Yelp.  Went at 9:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning..relatively empty.  Was seated in the back (my mug aint' that bad) :)   I would try other places but wouldn't oppose going back.
