H & E Marina Deli

Love this place -- the vibe, food and service.  Came with uber high standards from New York and New Jersey.   This place could keep up in NY, let alone FLL.  I've been here several times, and pretty much every time I'm in the area.  Can't wait to go back, which seems silly but maybe it's because I feel like I'm getting a bit of NY in FL.

Disclaimer: I'm a New Yorker. I intentionally did not order a bagel, lox, or pastrami because I didn't want to set up this cute locally owned business to fail. And I was so wary of coming to this place, tucked into the back of this shopping center, where we really couldn't find it for like 5 minutes. Its a nice local place with friendly folk and okay food. The deli is kinda dark and divey, with a utilitarian counter, 20 bench seats, and homey service. Perry and I chose to sit outside at one of the two patio tables.

I ordered a vegetable omelette with toast and Perry had the banana pancakes side of sausage and home fries. For the most part, the vegetables were fresh, and not canned. The tomatoes that came on the side were nice and ripe, with a sprinkling of salt. The banana pancakes were pretty fluffy and a good sized portion for the price. I was definitely satisfied with my meal, but it won't wow you.

GREAT!! I love this deli. Its a small local deli that's hidden in the corner of the 17th street causeway shops. The Paul and Young Ron sandwich is incredible! Please do your self a favor and try it.  Great sandwiches and the staff is very talkative and nice.  This is a hidden gem and it deserves all the recognition possible. I love this place!
