Old Heidelberg Restaurant & Lounge

Good German food, place needs a good scrub down, not dirty, just needs a good dusting, bathrooms are a joke if your handicapped, doors say handicap accessible, mom used a walker after knee replacement and it had to go in sideways, no way a wheelchair would fit, food was good and hearty, beer was cold and refreshing

This place makes you feel like you've been transported into a little German town with it's decor, live music, costumes and delicious food/beverages. Lively little place that seems to truly appreciate it's heritage. They serve you huge portions so bring your appetite - needless to say I never have room for dessert but they have quite a few selections that I can only imagine taste as good as they sound! I've tried the German potato soup, potato pancakes (yum), Jaeger Schnitzel which comes with spaetzel (noodles with some kind of garlic sauce) & red cabbage. Wow. Good stuff! Put it this way, I'm a not a huge fan of cabbage, in fact I never eat it but that red cabbage has made a believer out of me! Service is good as well. If you've never tried German food (and even if you have) I would ask that you give this place a try. Just plain good food.

Found this little hidden gem not too far from my house.  I go to the Dunkin Donuts across the street all the time but I never noticed this restaurant just right across the street.  This is a very nice little cozy restaurant serving mostly German dishes.  I really like the decoration in the dinning area.  I had no idea what to order as I never really had German dishes before.  So I checked the reviews by other Yelpers and decided to order a pan fried veal chop.  It was pretty good except I thought I was a little blend.  And there were all different kinds of German draft beers.  I sampled a few and they all tasted pretty good.  I think I may just found a new nice local restaurant where I can go and just hang out.
