This place was great because it's BYOF. One rainy morning we grabbed food and coffee from outside and brought it here to eat. Everyone was really nice and they were okay with us not ordering anything. The view was the best part. They have covered and uncovered tables so it's great for a rainy day. Will definitely be back here when I'm in provincetown again.
Review Source:Love, love, love the Aqua Bar! Â
The drinks, the staff, the view, the location, the prices - fantastic!
While on your stroll down Commercial St in the lovely Provincetown, you come across a little wharf with a large sign declaring "FOOD COURT" - that about sums up what you'll find inside this area. Â It's a bunch of little restaurants serving Chinese, American, Mexican, Ice Cream, etc. - you get the drill.
At the end of this touristy food court, there is a quaint little watering hole of an oasis overlooking the bay. Â There is a raw bar with exquisite oysters and shrimp cocktail galore! Â The drinks are at the right price and you're always greeted with a smile!
I enjoy coming here to relax while looking out into the ocean and taking the edge off. Â Great place to hang out with friends too, plenty of seating.
Nothin special about this place. Â If it weren't for the view of the harbour it would easily be a two star rating. Â Beer was moderately priced, but decent liquor was just out of control expensive (10+ dollars for a one ounce drink? Hiissssss!!!!). Â Bartenders were friendly I think. Â It was more vacant smiles, and not much for conversation...unless it was their friends or "Cute Boys" to flirt with. Â It's a decent meet up spot if you plan to paint the town, but I don't think I would make this a regular hangout
Review Source:The Aqua Bar is a great place to meet friends. Â You can choose from many different fast food restaurants in the Aquarium Mall and take your meals to the back deck overlooking Provincetown Harbor. Â All of the restaurants in the mall serve quality food at excellent prices. Â My only complaint about the Aqua Bar is the female bartender. Â She is rude and unfriendly. Â We have been there twice and on the 2nd visit a friend commented on the female bartender's attitude and I concurred, having a similarly bad experience the last time I had been there. Â I would give it 5 stars otherwise.
Review Source:The best waterfront experience in Ptown. On a 10 day trip, this became my go-to spot. It's a big deck on the bay with plenty of tables and chairs. Get some decent take out from one of the restaurants in the building or some fresh oysters. Then grab a drink from Aquabar and have a very relaxing time watching boats, kayakers, or the sunset. Whether you are with friends or by yourself, Aqua Bar is a great place to have a drink and enjoy the view.
Review Source:The view is beautiful and there's a variety of different kinds of food to choose from, including some great seafood and a fresh raw bar. Yum! You buy your food at one of the shops, then go choose a table.
Very cute bar! Seats at the bar and on the deck are all first come first serve. Great beach-lounge atmosphere.
Something you didn't realize was missing 'till it opened - a casual, sleek, chilled-out bar on the beach. Perfect vibe. Good drinks poured with a heavy hand. Only wish the had a 1am license. Perfect for sunset drunks or anytime you want to chill out with a perfect view. Just stunning.
Review Source:4.5 stars...
Aqua Bar seems like the small outdoor patio bar you might find behind a full sized bar elsewhere but this little bar is the whole thing. It's one of the simplest and most beautiful bars I've been to in a long time (mostly due to the spectacular view). The large wooden deck, the raised tables (with umbrellas) and chairs and counter overlooking the ocean are very clean and classy. They even have a small patio couch and couple of lounge chairs off to the side for a more intimate setting. Despite the fact that it's outside there's still no smoking (a big plus in my opinion). Drinks are priced normally (slightly expensive for the Cape though). They only have a few beers on tap and mine was slightly flat but anything tasted good with this view of the harbor. The only other negatives where that instead of relaxing and listening to the waves they had some annoying new age trance music blaring out of the speakers (I had come during the day and lucked out as there was no music), and they close along with most of all the other businesses in town at 11pm (which is pretty good for the shops but a little disappointing for a bar).
Aqua Bar is new to Provincetown and the best thing to come to town in the past 10 years. The view is amazing- its right over the water, looking out over the bay full of boats to the tip of the cape and the corresponding lighthouses. The bartenders and fun and pour with a heavy hand. There is one other bar in town with a similar location/view, but its not half as fun and they don't accept credit cards. I discovered the bar when picking up a phat burrito from Big Daddy's. You can take food from the Aquarium food sellers (pizza, sushi, burritos, gelato, chinese food) out on to the deck, order a drink, and enjoy. Then I brought my friends back at night- what a special place.
