I've been here a handful of times over the course of a few years and it seems to get worse and worse each time.
We got here around 10ish. There were already a few people there. We were not greeted until we got to the counter which was on the other end of the..room? building? I don't know what to refer it as. We sat down wherever, which was nice. Most hookah places make you sit in a designated area which is beyond annoying.
We got the joker and dragon breath. They both tasted the same to me.
Extremely low quality hookah. You know its bad when you have particles of the hookah in your mouth in the first puff you take. I can still taste it, 2 hours later ugh.
I asked the employee to blow the ash from the charcoal before she changed the coals. Suffice to say, this was a freakin' foreign concept to her since she looked at me as if I asked her to solve a quantum physics equation. She told me to do it myself with a slight attitude. When I did, the entire foil with the hookah fell on the floor, which I did feel bad about. =/ But! How do you not know to do that?! You work at a hookah place! Its hookah 101
The place started getting busy after 10. I noticed that they carded a few people who entered (we were not carded at all). As soon as more than 10 people were there, they started blaring the loud hip hop music...no surprise there.
There are better hookah places. Don't waste your time or money. Unless they make some drastic changes, I won't be there again.
A hookah place out in the burbs is pretty strange especially since it is so close to Chicago and it's a little out of the way.. Four of us came here after eating a late dinner and without much to do in the area thought, why not and came in. Well, we didn't come in right away, they actually checked our IDs first, a good policy especially since they could get in a lot of trouble. I'd imagine a lot of teens come here because they're not creative enough to find cigarettes. They have some pretty interesting specials-something I haven't seen at the other hookah places I've been to. Sundays were free drink night for-my girl and I got a coke and water but the others didn't partake.
The different type of tobaccos/prices were interesting-the mixtures of the premium tobaccos and their mixes were named like cocktails. The tobacco they use is of high quality and it shows through. They have a DJ there but it was quiet there so they were just playing 'The Hurt Locker' on their big screen-probably because the guy spinning was busy drinking a 40. I think it was pretty good overall, the specials are good, the tobacco holds it flavors pretty well and it's laid back atmosphere is well a little too relaxed but still a good time.
