Walked in for a drink... Walked upstairs to LIV.
I wish I can give you a better review of this club, but I just wasn't there long enough. All I can remember was the loud obnoxious music, the overpriced drinks, and it was extremely dark inside. Not horrible, but just not for me. Whatever floats your boat!
We came here for my 23rd bday. As guests in the hotel, Se mainly went because we wanted a different scene than liv. Our cocktail waitress sucked!!!! She sold us our bottle and only showed up to present us with a 600 bill. I guess that 22% auto grat doesn't include her actually pouring any drinks! The cover charge was also crazy considering we bought a table. The music was decent and the gogo dancers were fun.
Review Source:Four of us girls from Cali came here on a Thursday. I did NOT like the music. We paid about $20 for a drink that supposedly had grey goose, but I highly doubt it was. There was no line at the bar and it took like 10 min to get one of the bartender's attention. I would definitely not return here. I'm sure Miami has a lot more to offer. If I'm going to pay $20/drink I should at least have a good time.
Also, they tried to charge $20 for us girls to get in, thank goodness we said nevermind because they let us in anyways. Had we paid it would have been such a rip off.
Let's start with I like MUSIC! So just about ANYWHERE I can go and have a great time with the exception of that one beat gush gush gush gush gush techno music. Â
I brought my sister here because it was her birthday and my greatest concern was for her to have a GREAT night! Thursdays is the hip hop night which my sister enjoys best and I thought this was a great pick. Â However, the DJ Stevie J, in my book was GREAT! He played a lot of down south raunchy pop that pop that I'm in the streets hustlin tryna make money if you ain't bout the money or dem ***'s then get to steppin snitches I'm out here tryna make some real riches.
okay I'm done rappin so I think you get the point. lol But in the mix there was some of the normal, Wayne, Drake, Rick Ross and some Biggie mix ins. Â So I'm not sure if everyone is like me. I enjoy the club even more when I KNOW all the words to the songs. Â So for these Cali ladies..some of the ladies in our group would stand around when the down south unknown to California folks music came on. Â BUT I on the other hand enjoyed it...and some of the songs I knew because when I visit the south that's ALL I have a choice of. Â ha ha
Arkadia was dark and had a low ceiling with these VIP areas all over. Â So when the waitresses would bring out the bottles with the sparklers MOVE out the way. Â The drinks for the price were nice and RIGHT. Â :-) Â We didn't SHUT the place down...but Rapper Ace Hood came and joined the party. Â
I say GO check it out...good way to see how the south does the dirty dirty side of things.
Oh Miami how I love you.
Have I mentioned that I crave trips to Miami? So after LIV the night before, we decided to hit up Arkadia to vary the experience. Â There was a cover. Â That irked me, but oh well, I am sure there is rhyme to their reason.
We entered and the music was rocking. Â This club is more R&B centric than LIV (which also has a lot of R&B but plays other stuff as well.) The crowd was fun and we had a great time dancing and shaking. Â Before we knew it 3:30 am rolled around and we headed home, happy!
Oh, Miami, I miss you!
Had a blast here, we went to a 40th bday party here, in VIP section, popping bottles... It was a crazy night. Â This place is beautiful... The club is located downstairs in the Fountaineblue hotel, another club "Liv" is also in the building. Â The layout is beautiful. Upstairs in the lobby there is beautiful lighting and a huge beautiful chandalier, the nly complaint was he lobby felt like it was in alaska.. The air was pumping like they had penguins walking around. Â As for the music. The DAJ was a little off. He kayed some good music, and thr danceflorr stayed packed but he sometimes played the wrong record after a dancefloor full of people were up. Â He played a lot of old school music -hip hop, r &b...
I had a great time here... I would goback for a night out next tme Im in Miami!
How fucked up is this place? Â We traveled all the way from CA to check it out, waited in line for over an hour and still didn't get in. Â Wife and I looked pretty damn good - way better than most of the retards they were letting in. Â We had no trouble getting into all the clubs in Vegas!
This damn place seems to be the basement of "LIV" has no entrance system, fucking chaotic. Â The douchbag bouncers with their minimum wages (i bet they can't even pay for their own entrance) were letting in people with tshirt, shorts, and flip-flops. Â We found ourselves standing there looking silly with the rest of the people "hoping" that they would pick us from the crowd.
Funny thing was, while we were waiting, we saw people who got in--came back out within the hour we waited - so the club can't be that good.
We gave up and decided to kick it in the lobby. Â It was actually fun; plenty of sexy looking people that night (6/30/2012), a huge bar, and banging music.
DON't BELIEVE THE HYPE
We were staying at the FB and wanted to hit up LIV but the Miami Heat were celebrating in there so entry was a lost cause. Â Next stop, Arkadia. Â
I had a great time and didn't have to wait to get in but they charged us $30 cover. Â For a group of 9 hot gals with a bachelorette party, that was a bit insulting. Â Hence, 4 stars.
The ceilings are low and the drinks were around $17. Â Can't do anything about the ceilings but make friends with boys with bottle service and that solves the $17 problem. Â The crowd here isn't as pretty as upstairs. Â It's definitely where those who can't get into LIV end up. Â More guys than girls, for sure. Â The bartenders were really nice and poured strong strong strong drinks. Â The music was a fun mix of dance - no complaints there. Â They handed out glow-tubes around 2am, which turned into drunk battle weapons - awesome. Â
Overall, I wouldn't go to Arkadia as a destination but since we were staying in the Fontainebleau and it was raining and LIV was a madhouse, this was a great alternative.
There is a really rude bouncer here that will separate your group and let one half in the VIP section and the other section has to pay. Â He'll yell at you if you try to get the attention of your friends that made it to the VIP line and say we either pay or leave immediately. Â He is extremely condescending and so rude and totally ruins your night. Â We were even hotel guests and he treated us like we were second class citizens. The drinks here are ridiculously expensive and the atmosphere is not even worth the hassle to get in.
Review Source:This review is about Dee, who in my understanding does the table/bottle service reservations for Liv, Arkadia, and apparently other clubs in Miami Beach. Â I highly recommend tthat the Fontainebleau find someone else for this job. Â As I'll show below with some direct quotes from Dee's text messages, Dee was rude and contemptuous.
Here's what happened: over text message, I asked Dee what sort of club fifteen guys could go to for about $150 per person. Â I understood that that number was too low for a club like Liv, but I thought maybe there would be some other club around that price range. Â Dee said that $267/per person was the best he/she could do anywhere in South Beach, and recommended a few bars. Â I thanked Dee for the information about the bars and asked whether we'd be at risk for waiting around in line all night if we didn't get bottle service. Â Dee's reply: "NO ONE wants 15 guys in a club who have no or a limited budget to spare so get organized. Â I gave you the tools, use them!" Â I was a little piqued by that somewhat insulting line, but let it go and didn't reply because I knew that Dee was probably right. Â I know we aren't NBA players.
We ended up getting bottle service at the Hotel Delano's pool area and the Delano's club for $134/per person with 17 guys. Â It was amazing and we had a great time. Â Afterwards, I let Dee know that Dee had been wrong about $267/per person being the best price anywhere. Â Here are some excerpts from the text messages that Dee sent in response:
- "Delano is a hotel NOT a nightclub. Â Re-read my text from the beginning. Â And thanks for the startling update. Â Glad you had a great time poolside this week end." Â [Dee ignored the part about how we also got into the Delano's club]
- "You could have bought yourself a bucket of Budweisers at a dive bar and SAVE EVEN MORE MONEY!!! Now how is that, uh?! . . . You only thing your forgot to say is THANK YOU. Â Go buy yourself some manners with all the money you saved." [Dee was referring to the information Dee gave me about bars in South Beach. Â I DID thank Dee for that information, before Dee sent the insulting message about no club wanting fifteen guys.]
I'll let the reader judge who needs to buy some manners.
If I show up at Arkadia, I'm there for the staff and the promoters. It would be nothing without them and the personality they give to the place. The bartenders are some of the best in Miami Beach and the servers are on the same level, and with the right DJ, it makes all the difference. Friday nights are the best night to go.
Review Source:Came to Fountainbleau and the entire hotel lobby was PACKED!!! Stood right infront of the ropes and after 5 minutes, we got to go in without a cover charge (it was around midnight on a Saturday). I was ecstatic!! Whooaa getting into LIV for free and I'm not being judged by the "I'm cool for your shizzle bouncers!!"...and then I see Arkadia sign! Apparently, we stood in line for the WRONG club. Oh well, still had a blast!! They played hardcore rap music all night long and being from Baltimore, I got down and dirty to it!! People are still flashy, gorgeous and cool! Except it's probably Liv's little brother but whatev...still a great time!! Place is rockin!
Review Source:I did not show up to Arkadia sober, so my review may not be the best.
I did not want to pay $300 to get into LIV during Ultra weekend, so I settled on Arkadia. Luckily we bought tickets in advance because people were just standing around trying to get picked my the bouncers to get in. After standing around for 5 minutes somebody was asking if people had tickets. In to the club we went.
The club is located downstairs and it wasn't as small as I expected. Everybody was dancing and the music was great. The drinks of course were overpriced. I think we paid over $30 for 2 mixed drinks.
Like everybody says if you don't want to pay for LIV check out Arkadia.
If you ever go here for an event, make sure to get your tickets in ADVANCE, or you will be out there waiting in line TAO style while your friends are inside having a blast. TAO style means waiting in line hoping to either get cool bouncers that don't play cliqueish or putting on more charm than usual to coax the bouncers into letting you in.
Unlike Liz W. I was too late to get my tickets so I had to show up and hope for the best. But I should have expected the worst. I was hoping to see Nadia Ali but she went on before I was able to get in. I bet she was singing while I was out there waiting in line for almost an hour watching everyone else get in, including some dude who had a long line of 17 chicks going in with him. WTF? Haha.
I was so irritated, that by the end of it, I was starting to get hysterical. So it was the 20th time I asked the bouncers about getting in and I swear I must have smiled like the Joker and he prolly let me in out of fear bc I got in pretty quickly after that. He whispered in my ear to get into VIP line. I was gonna pay the girl entry fee, but before I could do that, the guy behind her ID'ed me, slapped a bracelet on me, and next thing you know I was walking into the club for free. Womp womp! Good things do come to those who wait. =)
Arkadia the club is pretty awesome. It reminded me of the bottom room at Temple nightclub in San Francisco bc it was pretty small in size, but the energy was just as crazy fun. They gave everyone who got in an LED foam stick thing so we all had a blast dancing. People there were really friendly and down-to-earth and the music was loud, but not blasting into your eardrums.
Definitely I'll be back, but I'll make sure to order online and bring a group of 10 chicks with me. Hah!
now, call me crazy, but i think i prefer arkadia over liv.... i know i know... crazy right??? well i'll tell you why.... the crowd at arkadia tends to be the people that cannot get into liv, or don't want to go through the trouble to get in.... the crowd just seems less uptight.. it's never nearly as crowded as liv gets, and the music is often open format, which i prefer.... there's a little loungey area toward the back, with a pool table, that often ends up used as a drink holder, or as seating... parking... still $20 valet... ugh... that hurts.
Review Source:Let me break Arkadia down for you cool kids: OVERPRICED drinks, good(ish) music and the most dbag doorman you can possibly imagine.
I've been here a handful of times, always with out of town guest because they request to party at the infamous Fountainbleau and there is no way my ass is paying 60$ to go to LIV. Every time I've come to Arkadia, I have gotten in free, so can't complain there. But getting in is a production in itself. There is no order to the madness, no line.. everyone just encircles the ropes and stands there, waiting for this jerk doorman to use his own discretion on who should be let in, and when. Thus, if you want a short wait time, hike up your skirt a few more inches than normal and do your best to look prestigious. Normally I would not bother to detail about the security and whatnot, but when the main memories of my time at Arkadia are centered on the wait time and the obvious judgement, I think it is worth mentioning. I have been here where I waited over an hour to get inside and while waiting some hussy would walk up, give the security a kiss on the cheek and then directly parade downstairs. It just pisses me off. Â And it is always the same guy, his farbissina face is engraved in my mind. To quote Leslie Mann in "Knocked Up,"
"you're just some roided out freak with a fucking clipboard. And your stupid little fucking rope! You know what, you may have power now but you are not god. You're a doorman, okay. You're a doorman, doorman, doorman, doorman, doorman.." Â I hope he reads this.
Now that I have gotten that off of my chest, I shall continue. Once inside, Arkadia has kind of whimsical feel. Colorful, cute, some what small but not ridiculously so. The music is pretty good. House and some top 40, I think they even throw some booty music in there too. They have the standard hotties dancing on tables and pouring liquid refreshments down the throats of VIPs. Drinks are eeexxxxppppensive. As an example, one time I Â got two tequilas- 46 bucks. ouch.
The Facts:
- Parking is valet (20$ if i recall correctly)
- Dress code is fancy shmancy
- Come early and walk around the hotel
- sit at the lobby bar for a while, this could be a party in itself
-The whole place is expensive, be prepared. Â
Arkadia itself is meh, but the overall experience is recommended. Beautiful people, fancy people, beautiful hotel, getting dressed up and being glamorous for the night.
During a girls' weekend in South Beach, we hit up Arkadia at Fountainbleau. It had a super Vegas feel and was full of beautiful people and mirrors. Cover charge was $20, which wasn't bad at all. I do remember a shot of tequila being $19, which is insane, but hey, it's Miami!
The bartender was a total bitch, but why did she have to be nice? Gratuity is included! I couldn't even get mad at her because she was wearing ridiculous neon glasses with no lenses.
The music was very house, which isn't my favorite, but that didn't stop me from having a great time. The ceilings are low and the club certainly feels deep underground, but I think that's part of the charm.
Also, at one point there was a blow up doll circulating the dance floor. You WILL have a good time here.
We came here during our first night out in Miami and had an absolute blast.
The venue looks upscale, like a smaller Vegas nightclub. Â The music on Friday was mostly house with a few Top 40 hits mixed in and had me on my feet for hours--I don't think I've danced this much at a club since I was 20.
The bartenders are gorgeous and the drinks are expensive, but we did one of those promoter deals with the 2-hr open bar + limo ride + club admission, which made our $30 completely worth it.
We went into LIV afterwards and it was uncomfortably packed so we left almost immediately. Â If you can't get into LIV, definitely give Arkadia a try!
I've come here on a few different occasions. The first few times were on a Friday night and most recently (last night) I went on a Thursday. It's been pretty packed every time I go and the music has always been good.
The club itself isn't very big which makes it more "exclusive." It is beautifully decorated inside. The lighting is dark, low ceiling, mirrors, and VIP couches everywhere. The sound system is really good and considering how small it is, you do have plenty of places to dance if you don't have a table. The drinks are just as expensive as they are next door at LIV. I had a few drink tickets but my last vodka tonic cost me $20. It includes tip and a resort fee, I think.
Thursday is "Subliminal & Friends" which is Erik Morillo's party and they play more of that "sexy house" music. Not as many mainstream songs but the music is still really good. Friday's are also heavy on house music but they play some hip-hop as well. Lately they have been bringing in different performers and guest DJ's which is pretty cool.
I really like Arkadia when I want a change of pace from the big room layout of LIV. I also enjoy the pool parties on the weekends. The music is great, atmosphere is chill, and lots of beautiful people.
The "line" to get in is more like a mass of people crowded up to the ropes to get in. Total disorganization but we got in without really waiting so I'm not complaining. DJ didn't impress me. The place has a basement-ey feel to it and isn't that big of a club. I don't know if I'd go back since Liv is right next door and it impressed me more than Arkadia.
Review Source:Pretty club, great music, the drink prices are average, $13, however charged me $2.27 for tip, which I don't like. You poured me a shot, I do not believe that causes to tip that much!
However, again despite that, great music, mostly techno and house. The place is pretty packed but not overly, we still had room to move around which was nice. We did not stay very long. Grabbed a drink or so and left.
The decor was nice and classy. We didn't have to pay which was nice. My friends met some guys who needed girls and bam, we were in and only waited about 5 minutes or so.
I would try some more clubs probably before coming back, reminded me of LA clubs and kind of like Tryst in Las Vegas with the stairs that go down. Just remember we came in around 12 and the lobby was packed! We got lucky with not wait.
Nice :) good music(house, techno, electric) this place have pool table. Â nice upscale deco.
its in fountainbleau hotel right next to club LIV.
its alot smaller than club LIV. but still hot people in there..
club LIV is kind 35-50? age of guys...
but this club is i guess more like young people place..
I saw bunch of abecrombie style guys in this club .
thats y i thought this place is more for young people..
i went to thursday its not really crowd n i saw some of celebrity in here.
I'd like to go back this place.
The first hetero club i've been to in a while that actually plays good house music. I expected good things from this venue seeing as its in the Fontainebleau and is Liv's counterpart. This place has a great party atmosphere and is beautiful. Like any good Miami club expect some sexism towards men at the door, and plenty of pretty girls running around. I usually don't do the club missions anymore but this place had great music and atmosphere, and I got in free and had free drinks so no complaints here!
Review Source:Arkadia was interesting to say the least; I felt I had walked into my brother's college dorm while they were having a frat party. Â There were pool tables and Persian rugs all over the place with lots of ottomans and girls dancing on the tables. Â I think the coolest thing about this place was the DJ and of course the mirrors.
Review Source:Had a blast. I originally wanted to hit up Club Liv but after contacting club promoter Shaun, he recommended Arkadia since its his spot on Saturday nights. Awesome lounge. Great music and dancers. The decor is beautiful and you get to lounge around w/o having to get bottle service like Club Liv. Drinks are expensive around $20 but well worth it.
Would definitely return on my next Miami trip with the girls.
It was so much fun.
I love this place.
Hot people go here. You will not be dissapointed.
It is not that big inside. There is also a nice couch type thing by the bathrooms so you can sit there and wait for your hookup while they pee.
Get bottle service.
I love the music here too.
I wanna go back!!!!! Now!!!!!!
Another bday, another night out.
6 girls in the town, what are we to do!?
well lets go to the new lounge in the fountainebleau.
Got there around 11, didn't have to pay parking because it was a tuesday. The pool area was packed with a FREE bbq. enjoyed some fancy hotdogs and hamburgers and then headed in.
the first impression is that your in a basement, the roof is low and its a little scarry.
the sound system is great, and there is space to sit down, even if you don't have a table.
they usually have great lineup of artist playing, so give the place a chance. just expect to pay top dollars for the drinks and to mingle with beautiful people.
