Backstreet's back, alright!

*FYI*  I was waiting to disclose this info to the public when I eventually wrote my juicy, tell-all autobiography but here it is- I was the sixth Backstreet Boy.  We started doing small gigs like birthday parties & bar mitzvahs, then expanded to grad nites & bars.  Fortunately for us, we were spotted by a music producer and we finally had our big break.  As with most things, jealousy & envy reared it's ugly head.  During interviews & press junkets, I would receive all of the attention.  Photoshoots, mic time - it become more & more of a distraction.  On top of that, my vocal cords changed, so I eventually left the group.  Ah, what could've been..........;p

Backstreet Boys - In A World Like This tour w/ DJ Pauly D & Jesse McCartney at the Verizon Wireless Ampitheatre in Irvine.

DJ Pauly D spun the 1's & 2's for an hour set, which frankly, went 50 minutes too long.  
I do give him props for working in Joan Jett's "I Love Rock N' Roll" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believing".

I was only previously familiar with Jesse McCartney's "Beautiful Soul", but he performed well and was a great opening act.

Backstreet Boys - what can I say?  They killed!

The show was half new music/half classics.  They even sang acappella for a few songs, including "Quit Playing Games With My Heart".

I remember dubbing a slow song cassette tape for a ex-gf with this song.  The memories........

The main screen on stage and lighted platforms demonstrated the production value of the show.  The guys sang & danced with high energy for the upbeat songs, and drew goosebumps from the entire crowd during their ballads.  Watching them doing the aforementioned acappella set of songs, made everyone see they're here to stay.  The Backstreet Boys admitted that they won't be able to do their dance steps forever, but playing instruments and harmonizing can be done when they become the Backstreet Grumpy Old Men.  

Always wanting to please their fans, the Backstreet Boys made 2 encores to the delight of the crowd.  I had an absolute blast and came home with a $10 BSB T-shirt to commemorate this awesome show.
