One star for simply being open. I will just list the offenses. There were 8 of us, no one greeted us. The food took forever; the best thing about this place was the kids' placemats that were large and two-sided. After waiting about 40 minutes for our food, it was cold and several orders were wrong. I like hamburgers and would have gotten one, had I known the veggie burger, which was touted as homemade, Â was a frozen one you could buy at grocery stores. My son ordered the banana peanut butter and honey sandwich. They were out of bananas, left off the honey and served it on two heels of a loaf of bread turned around to pass as the interior of the bread. There were more problems, but you get the idea. Â I almost felt sory for them; it was such an epic fail. Needless to say, we will not be going back.
Review Source:Two stars for the local beers. Love local supporting local, even though I do not drink beer.
Both the husband's and my burgers were boring. The sides were boring. The black cherry creme soda was not that great. (How could anything black cherry not be awesome?)
I ordered my burger medium rare and was told that everything came medium well to well done because of the thinness of the patties. When it arrived, it visually resembled the far superior burgers at Schoop's up in NWI - but the taste was nowhere close.
The train was obnoxious as we were trying to have a conversation. I get the gimmick and it would have been totally fine if we were there with friends with kids, but this is always my problem with restaurants trying to cater to both adults and kids - it is nearly impossible to do well.
The server was knowledgeable and honest about the fact that the veggie burger is Morningside. It drives me nuts when restaurants try to pass off veggie burgers as homemade when I can tell it's the same frozen import that I have at home.
I would not go back, although I would not go out of my way to steer people clear.
