Definitely recommend Batavia Cafe!! Best tuna roll and the tomato and chicken orzo soup is amazing! Great atmosphere and very helpful staff. Will definitely be back.

Go here often for lunch as it is within walking distance of my office.  The food is wonderful with interesting specials every day. (Favorite ever was a homemade whole wheat bread topped with hummus, portabello and red peppers over arugula - hope they repeat this one soon!)  There are always 4-6 fresh soups to choose from, as well, and usually 2 or more of them are vegetarian.  I also love their iced tea.  The only reason for 4 stars is that the prices are a bit high...but it is Summit, after all!

First visit here left us very disappointed.  My wife and I each ordered the Combo Soup and Salad.  Believe it or not a 1/2 salad and small portion of soup with a fountain diet coke came to $36 for the two of us.  Talk about sticker shock.  The same thing is $20-25 at any other similar type of deli/sandwich shop.

The soup and salad were both very good, but this was absolutely one of the worst values we had ever experienced.  The way their pricing works, it would have been cheaper to buy a full salad and soup vs the Combo, which makes absolutely no sense.

No refills on the soda, salad served in tippy throwaway plastic bowls that were difficult to eat from due to their instability.  Simply not even close to competitive with other delis/Panaera Bread type of places.

The owner needs to rethink their menu pricing.  Until a significant change is made, the Batavia Cafe is simply a very poor value.

Found this place on Yelp, reviews looked promising, left disappointed.

Nice-looking place in the center of Summit.  Despite the "artsy" decor and the high prices( seriously, can we rate this place AT LEAST 2 dollar signs!?  ) it didn't live up to it's upscale environment in my honest opinion.  Never judge a restaurant by it's prices/decor.   :)
Their soup selection is very limited(2 different ones to choose from at the time) and the food is mediocre at best.  Visited this place with the wife, ended up tossing most of what we got in the garbage.
You can find the same type of food & atmosphere just by going to Panera Bread, only MUCH better and cheaper.
We normally leave PaneraBread spending just under or about $20.  We left this place   at $28 'n change with much of what we ordered going to waste.

Absolutely phenomenal food! I had a salad and my fiancée got a panini, and both were truly excellent. There are floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the front (I'm always a sucker for those) and nice, dark wood tables.

It looks like they sell home products in the back half of the store, but didn't check those out while I was there.

They have gluten-free bread! They were out of gluten-free bread!

But the soup and salad combo is a lot of food, fills you up!

    What an interesting place...
I stopped in after feeling faint from not eating on a day of busy errands. I came in thinking I would grab a coffee and a muffin, but they un- expectantly had a salad bar... with fresh, juicy chicken and interesting salad dressing options.... it was really yummy.

My iced caramel latte was really good as well.... and besides the already mentioned cool atmosphere, the owner is friendly and eager to please... and she promised that they were adding fresh sandwiches.

Great store, great atmosphere, great owner.
The coffee bar is a huge bonus among this unique collection of teak furniture.  We have purchased many items and even the delivery team is great.

if you are not stopping by for even a coffee, you are missing out!

Ok, the fact that this is a furniture/art gallery AND a coffee shop already wins it several stars for creativity.  But the coffee I had - an americano - was good and strong, and I had a bitchin' chocolate almond biscotti too.  It was fantastic.  Almost hard enough to break a tooth but flaky at the same time.  Mini chocolate chip cookies and mini brownies also looked good, but I showed some restraint.

I liked that the place was rather quiet and chill, and you can sit anywhere, even on the stylish (and expensive) chairs and couches that are all around...  If I should happen to find myself in Summit again sometime, I'll avoid the Starbucks a few blocks away and head here.
