The thing about Chinese restaurants is that you never know what kind of crab rangoons you're going to get.
Will it be that traditional 'X' shape with the filling in the middle?
Maybe it will be those triangular shaped ones you sometimes come across?
Or is it going to be shaped more like a pierogi-type thing?
Spoiler alert: Beijing Gardens has the 'triangle' crab rangoons, and they're not bad, but i wasn't really digging them. They aren't the best triangle crab rangoons I've ever had, but they aren't the worst triangle crab rangoons in the world, I just didn't really like them. Perhaps I was subconsciously in the mood for an 'X' crab rangoon when I came across Beijing Garden's triangular ones. Who knows?
I ordered crab rangoons with the sesame chicken, and I might get them again if I can get them included in the much-cheaper lunch specials at this place, which is likely because $10 was too much for this particular chinese place. The chicken, like the crab rangoons, was just alright.
Hmm...typical Americanized Chinese food but quite a bit more bland than most. Â The good thing is you get a lot of food for $5 and change with an egg roll, bottle of water, chicken fried rice, and main dish such as General Tso's Chicken. Â
I'll come here if I'm debating between this and McDonalds on Wilson, and if I'm a bit more broke than usual.
They have the BEST Chinese rice I have ever had. Â We have ordered take out and delivery here one time each, getting the combination rice, which has chicken, beef and shrimp. Â The prices are cheap and the delivery was fast, despite not even being located in our neighborhood.
I don't think I will ever dine-in, but I will surely keep their number in my speed dial!
