One of worst meals I've ever been served.  First time I've tried Nigerian food.   Had fish and yam porridge.  Fish was so old like piece of hard leather, couldn't eat it.   I went up and told the girl and she was very nice about making me up a new plate.   I liked that food was spicy but other than that?  Not really much on that one piece of fish to eat once you pull bones out.  Also, I have no idea what kind of fish it was?  Spinach dish was ok, nothing exciting.  Sauce not bad.  Nothing I will ever want to go back for and if anything, I think I might be scared to try Nigerian food again.  I'm mostly vegetarian and doesn't seem to be any protein options unless you just eat beans and rice or yams.  But maybe I'll try again, in a year or 2. Lol.   Other issues were that even though it was cafeteria style, it took as long as a sit down place to get our food.  Complete chaos and hardly anyone there.  The guy taking his order asked me what I wanted and when I asked if they had any vegetarian food he asked if I wanted beef.  I agreed to fish and he takes sauce from goat meat and poured it on my fish.  He spoke English only so umm.....I didn't get that.    Also, not very clean.  Plastic trays were very greasy, gross.   Glad they had a hand washing station but tables were dirty and many had dishes on them still.

Not going back to this place ever!
This is not my first time trying African food, so maybe I was mistaken when I first thought that I liked it; we had a sample of almost all the dishes and we were almost about to leave without ordering any. But because of the kindness (in the first minutes, only) of the girl who was serving us, we decided to stay and eat there.
They have about 5 different bean dishes and all of them taste about the same; the meats are almost virtual you only will find bones and sauce! no matter if it's chicken, goat or beef.
The food is overpriced, I was aware of the previous reviews regarding the prices, and they were totally right; the menu is confuse, and I honestly think they do it on purpose. Apparently there is no way you can know how much you will have to pay until the cashier makes up whatever she thinks is the fair amount that you have to pay (fair for them, unfair for us)

Wow, I was really surprised that this place has more than 3 stars on Yelp.

After shopping at Elim Wig and Beauty Supply, my friends and I thought that we'd eat at Iyanze. Wow big mistake. We should have gone to the Thai place next to it.

I wouldn't say the food is terrible, cause we all really loved their plantains, but you can bet we won't be returning to Iyanze anytime soon. The meat is super tough and mostly bone. It's cafeteria style so I feel like the food has been laying out there for a while. The jollof rice was flavorless but it did taste good if you mix it with the sauce from the meats.

I don't know if this happens often, but there were dirty dishes lingering on the other tables. They were there since we got there till we left. I can't believe no one bothered to clear the other tables!

I thought about giving Iyanze just 1 star, but I really did like their plantains so I guess I'll hand over another star for that.
