Dare I say best Pad Thai in the city? For what I've tried so far, I have to say yes. I've been eating at this place for years now, and at certain points way to consistently. Don't judge, we're all victims of work situations some times.

Don't get me wrong, I've cheated, but I always come back to this place. The Pad Thai is the perfect balance of sweet and spice, portions are large, price is reasonable, and their vegetable soup is magic. I'm convinced it will scare any form of a runny nose out of your system. Plus, the older gentlemen who is always there (owner?) is seriously the best. He always remembers me when I go in there, and when he's delivered me food does the same. He's always super excited and nice, and at one point even stated, " I make egg roll just for you". How could that not make your heart swoon?

Here's the thing about Roong Petch. They are right by where I work and the food I've ordered from them is fine (curry fried rice with chicken and fried bananas, which were awesome). Their regular portions are enough for two lunches for me. the thing is, I have ordered from them three times now and not once have I done so successfully.

The first time I ordered using Seamless. When I arrived at the restaurant about a half hour later I was told my order had never gone through. So I waited for most of my lunch (I get 30 minutes) to go to the restaurant, wait for my food to be made, and get back to the office.

The second time I tried ordering by phone. This was partially my fault since I said I wanted lunch for pickup. When I got my food it was a half order lunch portion, for about a dollar less for half the food. Thing is, curry fried rice isn't even listed on their lunch menu. Fair enough.

Third time I knew to specify I wanted a full order. I called, placed my order, said I wanted a full order "not a lunch portion" and when I showed up I was told it was nearly $30 for FOUR orders of curry fried rice. When I explained the miscommunication the lady working was very unhappy. Also I asked for mild spice and this is definitely spicy. Honest mistake?

This would be a great lunch spot if only I could figure out how to get exactly what  I want to order but after three times I think I will be giving up. Sorry, Roong Petch.

Yelp fail.  Awful. I was so excited to try this place, I heard nice things, and there are often people there when I walk by.  Keep walking! I got a beef Lard Nar pick up to go, which I took ten steps to eat in the car.  No flavor.  I mean, NONE.  The "gravy" was like a thinned out low sodium soy sauce.  Beef was tough and with zero seasoning or sear. "Pan fried" noodles were completely soggy, a boiled mess. I was actually offended by what little skill or care went into the meal.  Fit for a dog, and I am not a dog, so it went into the garbage after three bites/attempts even though I hadn't eaten all day. Waste of money, though I wouldn't have eaten it for free. Won't be back.
