I don't know why people complain so much. Listen up snob. Walk up to the register and say "slice of sausage". Give the lady the $2.85 for the slice. It'll be ready in about 3 minutes. Put some red pepper flakes and maybe oregano on it. Enjoy. Then hop on the Red Line to wherever you need to be.
It's a hole in the wall pizza joint. What are you expecting? This is Uptown.
best thin slice/nyc style pizza on the northside of chicago and possibly in the whole city. Get the sausage, its their special recipe. Also, you have to get a slice of pizza or a large, if you get the smaller pizzas it doesnt taste right. It looks a luttle shoddy from the outside and inside but thats what you have to deal with to get some good thin crust in chicago.
Review Source:As someone from the east coast: If you're looking for NYC-style pizza, this is it. Thin crust (NOT crunchy!), greasy, cheese everywhere, foldable, awesome. The prices are right, too. Very low.
As someone who used to live in uptown, though: I can tell you that its location is pretty sketch. It's not Englewood or anything, but you don't really want to be there after dark. Service at the place reflects the neighborhood they have to deal with.
So, if you've got the itch for real NY pizza without that real pre-Giuliani NY 'hood feel, get delivery. They've arrived about when they said they would (or before) every time I've ordered and the delivery people are pleasant.
