If circumstances weren't such that I went to Bethel Road Pub to see & hear a friend's band, I don't see what would have gotten me in the door. Â After all, Bethel Road Pub promotes itself with one sign and that isn't all too appealing as a drive-by on Bethel. Â Looks sullen and not very accomodating.
So,.... I enter and get a look at what is a very deep, front to back, room. Â No idea BRPub was oversized. The pub is sub-divided into two room with the front one-third being semi-circle bar that includes areas for two pool tables and a "mancave area". Â If I didn't know any better the "mancave area" might turn into a lap-dance cavern. Not that I would know...... Â This area is spruced up.
The back two-thirds has adequate stage area for live bands and loads of room for dancing along with high-tops for drinking and meeting friends. Â The cavernous area could really hold a lot of folks but what band locally would fill it (and be invited to play) at Bethel Road Pub? Â I just don't know. Â I hardly suspect a DJ is going to show up there.
With all the work and renovation that's going on around town with local pubs, I don't see Bethel Road Pub getting much if any of my business without incentive (insider on the band playing). Â The place seems lost in a 60s reality show to me.
