I found this place using urban spoon on my phone, it had 75% thumbs up but we decided to go there anyway since we were close at the time. I found their food to be great so was a little surprised when I jumped on Yelp to write a review. Seriously, one and two stars from everyone reviewing? While I have certainly eaten better, I thought this place was worth three stars. I should also mention that my party of three were the only customers in there. Service was completely adequate. I'd probably eat here again
Review Source:If I could give this place 0 I would. Â Nothing went right in our lunch visit to this place. Â They got 2 of the 5 orders wrong and we needed to be send them back to the kitchen. Â Their second attempt at both were wrong again. Â The cook was not familiar with the menu and made the wrong dishes. Â
A third order was a chicken wrap, Â that they forget to make entirely. Â Finally, this order took 50 minutes and we needed to leave so it came to us in a to go box.
The orders that were eaten were not seasoned at all and was very bland. Â
Finally when it came time to pay the cashier rang up the order wrong. Â Avoid this place. Â It wont be around very long.
If you are confused as to why this isn't  the same Betty's Pies as the original, word is they were going to buy the one in Mahtamedi, but it fell through, but managed to scoop up a lot of their equipment and be a replica. That's where it ends. Not the same variety or quality of pies by any stretch. I don't know what possessed me to order ribs here, kind of the mood I've been in the last couple of weeks. We found out 10 minutes after ordering that they were out. I order broasted chicken. I swore it came from a quail it was that small, and how you make it bland is beyond me. Basil got a philly cheese steak sandwich. It seems they are trying to save money in portions. With all the competition around, not a good move. If you want to save money cut hours. I got my nails done next door, made up for the dining experience. My husband was giving feedback to the cook in the meantime. He told him they were still getting their act together, but appreciated his opinion. This isn't even a retro as much as a sterile atmosphere. Damn, I wish the original were here. It's in the hidden back of the mall. If this keeps up it will stay as obscure as the location.
Review Source:Really disappointing, especially when you think of Betty's Pies near Two Harbors. Not. The. Same. Place.
I ordered the French Toast. Worst case scenario I'd expect them to use cheap, flimsy white bread. No. They used pumpernickel rye bread. I love pumpernickel...on sandwiches. I thought maybe they used one piece in error but they were all made with the same bread.
My husband was unimpressed with his burnt pancakes.
The service was spotty and the servers don't seem to have sections, it's more of a free for all so one server offers to refill your coffee, forgets, and then another server comes along and does the same.
They also have only one POS so orders are being entered while you are standing at the counter trying to pay your bill. Chaos.
I don't know if we'll ever go back for anything more than pies, they seemed okay from what we saw in the case.
