Stopped at Chevys after a holiday shopping trip to at the mall.

We ended up sitting in the bar and were able to watch college football.  Food was good; however I thought it was a bit over priced for sitting in the bar at a slightly cramped hi-top.  I had nachos and hubs ordered the fish tacos.

Our server forgot to enter his order, so I ended up sharing my food while we waited for his tacos.  By the time his arrived, we were both pretty much full.  The server apologized for the mistake; however there was no discount or compensation for his meal arriving 15 minutes after my food was delivered to the table.

Not a bad place, but there are lots of other options out there.

My wife and I stopped in the other night after some shopping in the area. She had never eaten at Chevys and thought it looked fun. I haven't set foot in a Chevys in ages, so I was up for it. The service was good, and our waitress recommended the shrimp and crab quesadillas. We took her suggestion and ordered just that with a few beverages. The Cadillac margarita was very tasty, and Chevys stocked all of the "south of the border" beers one would expect to find.

Our food arrived, and just as our server had promised, the quesadilla platter was enormous. As I was chatting with my sweetheart while she ate her quesadillas, I noticed that she didn't seem thrilled with the quality. She began to peel apart the layers, and found completely different ingredients than what were listed on the menu. We're not "picky", and rarely take issue with our meals - but the delivery must match the menu. Our server politely took the dish away and checked with the kitchen only to discover that the cooks on staff preferred to make the quesadillas as they were served to us. I was a bit surprised by such a response from the kitchen since I could never agree with such a practice in a restaurant of any level. Though my wife and I don't have any food allergies, caution should always be taken and a plated dish should always reflect what is listed on the menu.

We ordered a different shrimp dish after verifying the ingredients with our server, but were unfortunately let down by that dish as well. If we were ever to find ourselves in Chevys again, it certainly would not be for a meal. The food and preparation quality is (in my experience) severely lacking, but the saving grace here is the wonderland of mixed drinks and beers. Overall, I would have expected better quality and consistency from a chain like Chevys.  Drinks, yes. . . Dining, no thank you!

While the food here is not exceptional for a Tex-Mex styled restaurant, it was still good.
I do have one qualm though. When I order avocado on my salad, I would actually like to have some avocado on it... not just two pitiful little hunks that have already started to brown. That sad looking avocado took my salad from being slightly better than the average, to saddeningly below.

Other than that, the drinks are a little pricey but delicious, and the servers that work here are fantastic! For the life of me you wonderful girl waitress, I cannot remember your name, but you were AWESOME!
