Masu Sushi & Robata

AWESOME!
First, let me say I love restaurant week! i ate here on Tuesday, and the food was so good I had to go back before restaurant week ended. The food at Masu is as pretty as it is good. Everything is incredibly fresh, and delicious. Tonight I started with the firecracker roll which was perfectly spiced not to hot but still had a kick to it, then the miso soup also well done, next the beautiful Masu roll, it is so pretty I almost felt bad eating it. I finished with tempura fried ice cream with a blueberry compote truly a treat for the mouth. The other pleasant surprise was how great the service was. Mari was my server she was friendly knowledgeable and well just plain fun to be around. I also got to meet the manager John he was very friendly, and nice. I really enjoyed my evening and am looking forward to going back.

I am a complete sushi addict and this place is one of my favorites!

I convinced my mother to go with me, and she is not a sushi fan. I have converted her ways! She now asks when we can go again for a mother-daughter date and to expand her sushi-horizons!

We went during Happy Hour and the prices and selection were amazing!

We ordered:
-Firecracker Roll
-Izakaya: pork kara age
-Robata: assorted veggies, chicken thigh, chicken meatball, pork loin, pork sausage, and season veggie (roasted butternut squash)
-Rainbow Gummi--Gummi Shochu Sours (drink)

Everything was absolutely amazing! My sushi-hating mother said she wished we had ordered more sushi! The izakaya was a little different but very tasty! I'm really glad we chose to get a sampling of the robata as it was all delicious!

Masu has everything from chicken, pork, veggies, tuna to quail eggs! There is definitely something for everyone on this menu and you definitely get your moneys worth! Even if you do not make it for the happy hour specials, the prices are very reasonable.

Only complaint-- it took awhile for any wait-staff to greet us and order drinks. I will mark this down to being busy though, as the hostess also sat a party of about 15 at the same time as us. But once a waitress visited our table we were well attended the rest of the time!

I am a big fan of Masu Northeast so we decided to try the Masu MOA yesterday. I was out with 2 girl friends. Friend#1 ordered the pork belly ramen, Friend#2 and me ordered 7 items from the Robata and green tea. Pork Belly ramen came in first. It hardly resembles the ramen from NE as the broth is way darker and the pork belly just seems off. My friend says it's too salty (she sent it back to the kitchen). 20 minutes later and the robatas are still nowhere in sight. We followed up and she said robata takes longer to cook... Ahmmm... we ordered scallops and salmon??? :p When it arrived, it was very mediocre -- the scallops was thin and not fresh tasting... We won't be back in this location. It was very disappointing. :(
