I stopped here with a group of 5 to get a couple of drinks for a friend's birthday - we chose the place after walking around the upper level of the MOA, not knowing anything about this place or any of the other restaurant/bar options, and chose it based on its fun-looking arcade games. Â After being seated and ordering our first round, we were horrified to discover how expensive the games are to play. Â Unbelievable!
Those of us who ordered tap beers were pleased to discover how huge of a glass they're served in. Â This was quickly tempered by the disappointment of friends who ordered mixed drinks and had trouble detecting any booze within the tiny glass of soda they received. Â Our waiter was kind and funny, cracking jokes and clowning around, but was only attentive for the first few minutes that we were there. Â After that point, we watched a full 20 minutes elapse between the point that the birthday girl ordered a drink and the point when the waiter visited our table again, saying "oh... I didn't bring you your drink yet?" Â After a long wait to get the tab, we sat with credit cards in hand, staring in the direction of our waiter, for another 20 minutes or so while he stood and talked with a co-worker on the other side of the restaurant.
All in all, I certainly wouldn't return again. Â No use being a fun waiter if you can't provide good service, and no use having games if the prices are too steep for anyone to play.
Oh yelp, if you only allowed 0 stars as a rating...
We went in tonight, hoping to find a table to watch the Michigan game. Â Looking through the windows, it didn't seem too full so we decided to give it a try. Â When we asked for a table for 2, we were told 45 minutes, but that we could sit at the bar if there was an open spot. Â When we went to the bar, sadly all the stools were taken; however, there were over 15 4-person tables and booths that were open, with placements, waiting to be used...which clearly shows horrible service and table management when you've only got..a few dozen tables in the whole place.
When we asked if we could just pick up our drinks at the bar and bus our own table, "no, we can't let you sit at a table. Â 45 minutes"
Any business that has that many open tables, IN A BAR AREA, and will not let you pay for drinks and sit at said open tables, is a ridiculously poorly managed establishment. Â
Oh, and the games are very over priced, more of a tourist trap for Mall Of America visitors than a place to actually enjoy a night out.
I 100% agree with the other reviewers here, go anywhere else in the mall. Â Cantina is infinitely better, and now that a BWs has opened just a few hundred feet away, there is absolutely no reason to go to Sky Deck. Â FYI, Cantina, Hooters and BWs all had huge waits to watch the college football games, and were clearly packed. Â Sky deck had a "45 minute" wait, with open tables, and nobody in line...that alone should have been a sign for us to run away rather than go in and be incredibly annoyed.
Taking a phone call while exiting the MOA made me stop in front of this business. Talking for 20 minutes, I noticed the business was open for business, but there was not a single customer inside. I walked in and asked if they served wings, I then took a seat at the bar and asked the bartender for an iced tea and some wings. To my surprise this deserted business had wings as good as any bar wing I've had. I quickly noticed the number of TV screens and the size of the screens. This is certainly the spot to view the big game or the pay per view event (If they offer it). I had a nice talk with the bartender and asked if they get any business. I noticed a row of billiard tables and was told there were 12 bowling lanes on the other side. Walking over to see the bowling lanes was interesting. Music was playing and the walls above the pins had huge screens above them playing what appeared to be a music video. Walking back to the bar I asked if there were young kids who visit due to the "Circus Pizza" style game room. The bartender said they get many families there who stop in after shopping and it clearly offered everything for everyone in the family. I will definitely return to this unique business as I realized it's the perfect spot for a going away party for a coworker or for any group of friends. The only negative I have to write would be the loud music. I was there around 1100 hrs and the music made it hard to have a conversation. The business was too early and too empty to justify the volume level. The "empty" bowling side was even louder. It would have even been loud with a packed bar on a Saturday night. Aside from the loud music, I had an enjoyable time and will be returning sometime in the near future. I see this becoming one of my "hidden secrets" before word gets around and it starts to become too busy for me.
