IHOP's generally provide a consistent quality of product and service that would never send one to write home about. But this location was shocking. Not only was it an IHOP, but is an IHOP attached to the a hotel... but the food quality was quite impressive, but the service was much better than expected. Nice for an IHOP in the middle of large tourist area!!
Review Source:Most of the time I gripe about going to the greasy spoon breakfast joints. At least you know what to expect. The reason for this review and rating is because I missed out on taking the online survey for IHOP, but wanted to compliment the service we received from Jake.
Jake was being trained in by Antonio, so most of our interaction was with Jake. He was very friendly, service-oriented and attentive. We could tell that he really cared about what he was doing and ensuring we enjoyed our breakfast.
The food was good and at least this IHOP is cleaner than some of its competitors down the street, so they get extra points for that. But again, Jake is the reason for the stars for representing the company brand well, and for Antonio, who is doing a great job as a trainer. It's easy to see why they use him as a trainer.
Because of my job in sales, I eat at a lot of restaurants. Â My review for the Burnsville and Apple Valley IHOP wasn't even worth 1 star, but this location is amazing! Â I ate on a friday around 10:30, so it was slower, but the general manager, Frank, has a sincere care in his restaurant, in all of his patrons and I could tell by watching him that he really cares about his employees as well. Â I tried the new Griddle Melt and it had really good flavor. Â The toast it was on was crispy, the grilled red peppers were flavorful and the banana/caramel pancakes are to die for!
Heidi was my server and she deserves KUDOS too! Â She checked on me multiple times, did everything she was supposed to do, but the thing that caught me the most was her smile. Â Every time she walked by, she had a smile on her face - and it was sincere, not fakey. Â
I didn't see just young-conservatives eating here today, as most were older or 35+ at least. Â As far as the wait, well, there wasn't any today when I came, but if you're going to come on a Sunday morning or during a peak time, expect a wait - and look at it this way... if there's a wait at this location, it's cuz they're good!
I put on a few pounds visiting this morning, but because of my previous view of IHOP where I swore I would NEVER EVER return (again, because of Burnsville and Apple Valley - still will never go there again) Â I will now make an effort to drive to this Bloomington location from my home in Burnsville again.
