great place to stop in for a bite and a pint after walking the magnificent mile, checking out the art institute or hanging out at millennium park. Â don't expect anything more than no nonsense burgers, crispy fries and easy to gulp american beer. Â very tasty burgers and a great underground atmosphere.
Review Source:Before the weekend of April 27th we decided to eat at Billy Goat on Washington Ave knowing it would be the last time because it was closing. Â I've passed by here lots of times because it is directly at the bus stop for 56. Â We drank a few beers and ordered from the grill some burgers and fries. Â Not too many folks in there during the weekdays, so we had a lot of room to spread out, and take in the history of the place. Â We studied every picture and funny poster on the walls. Â The interior reminded us of a bowling alley or skating rink from the 1970s. Â I don't think much had changed over the years, and it was really starting to look run down. Â But not in a bad way, more like it was getting long in the tooth, and time to take nap grandpa. Â We had fun that night with the stories, and the drinking. Â Nice to know there are at least five more Billy Goat Tavern's around town, so while we cannot return to this location I am sure I can get my friends to go with me to another one.
