So good to be back in Chicago but did not have the energy to venture out so it was hotel bar food, again. I had stayed at the Hyatt here on Wacker several years ago and remember the quiet, cool little pub tucked away on the other side of the breeze way from the main lobby. On that occasion, it was trade show week and I don't think I ate nearly as much as drank. Tonight, food was the first priority. Based on the bar tenders recommendation it was either the fish and chips, fresh walleye from lake superior, or the burger. The lady sitting next to me was having the fish & chips and did vouch for it, but beef always trumps fish. I was not lead astray, the plate came out loaded with an generous portion of steak fries and the burger. I had opted for the blue out of four choices of cheese and again followed the bar keeps lead with grilled onions rather than fresh or fried due to the cheese selection. Bingo. The beef was perfectly prepared, medium, and come to find out scored locally from a farm in Wisconsin. The bun was thick, fresh and fluffy enough to sop up the juice without getting soggy. The steak fries were crisp and lightly seasoned. So, I can't remember when I enjoyed a burger more. Sweet Home Chicago.

    UM, It really was BAD

I was told there was a new menu.  Burgers, Shepard's Pie, Corned Beef Sandwich.  What was the old menu??  It's an Irish pub, what else would they have.  The drinks were expensive for what they were and nothing to to get excited over.  Tracy who was tending bar was the only positive for the bar portion of Daddy O's.

Burger was overcooked (ordered medium), fries were soggy and bland.  They did have Coleman's mustard, which I love, but even that could not make my sandwich interesting or even edible.

If i want to overpay for drinks Ill head to Big Bar, at least the ambiance over there and huge drinks make it a better spot at the Hyatt.
