I really like Bob Evans in general. They have good food, variety, portions and prices. They serve classic American breakfast: eggs, bacon, hash browns, etc. all day long. I would go here instead of Ihop any day. But they also have pasta dishes and sandwiches if you aren't in the mood for breakfast. This location is a little isolated but nevertheless convenient as it;s right off 495. Plenty of parking and seating and the service was excellent.

Excellent service! The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, the waiter came by three times to check on us. The food took 10 minutes and was delicious. I will be coming back here.

The employees are always nice. The prices are always cheap. Getting a table is always easy. This restaurant is definitely simple and casual, but sometimes that is all that you want. Maybe you just want some pancakes for breakfast or pot roast for dinner, and that's what you get with no frills attached. I like IHOP better, but Bob Evans is better than Denny's.

My boyfriend and I wanted to take my parents out to dinner. Business seemed slow, there wasn't many diners, and we were seated quickly. There were certain dishes on the menu I had questions about and she 1) couldn't give me concrete answers, she obviously didn't know 2) she was rude about it, her responses gave me the impression that she wasn't in the mood to be there. During the actual meal she barely came to check on us, and the worst part was when we ordered desserts she seemed annoyed to actually take the order, and when she brought the food she didn't even pick up the entree plates, there was no room, my mom asked her to please take them and she slammed the desserts, and angrily took the dirty plates off the table, she slammed each dessert down, I was appalled, I had never experienced such bad service, it wasn't even busy, and if she doesn't like her job that's not my fault or anyone else's. I don't plan on going back there ever again.

Went on a Saturday morning around 10 am.  Very busy place, was hard to find parking. Seated within 15 minutes.

Waitress was courteous and efficient, yet not very friendly...maybe she was having a bad morning. The food was great as usual. I tried their caramel cappuccino coffee thing with the whipped cream and caramel and chocolate - Delicious!!!

I ate here because it was closest to my hotel. It looked like the food was going to be down-home delish. I heard it was a mix between IHOP (I dig) and Cracker Barrel (haven't tried but heard great things about). I ordered basic pancakes eggs and sausage and wasn't really a fan of anything. My boyfriend ordered some kind of egg scramble and he could have done without as well. We left full and the price was decent but eh...I won't be going to another Bob Evans. 2 thumbs down for me.

I don't stop by at Bob Evans (any location) very often. The service here is a bit spotty.

    The food is typical Bob Evans / IHOP / Denny's / ....

The location is awful, but there's not much the restaurant can do about the eyesore next door.

My first time at a Bob Evans.  Sort of a mix between Cracker Barrell and IHOP.  I had breakfast here and got a decent french toast.  The bacon is apple smoked and was good quality.  I enjoyed my visit.

The food was good and hot. They have free refills on the cappuccino plus the food is reasonably priced

I like this place better than IHOP because the staff and overall atmosphere is more friendly. When I couldn't decide between home fries and hash browns I was surprised to see that the waiter brought out both but only charged me for one. Don't think about it just order the sausage gravy & biscuits. Heard the Springfield location was the best and it is.

My friend and I went to Bob Evans in Springfield, VA, Sunday afternoon, July 31st, 2011.  We sat down, waited for some time for a server.  One came finally, fine, no worries.  Ordered my breakfast and it was absolutely disgusting.  My scrambled eggs were like water, the hash browns were only warm and not cooked, plus there were barely a handful of them on my plate.  The sausages were like rubber. Only the biscuits were decent.  How can you screw up breakfast so badly? On top of it all, our waitress comes over while we were trying to eat this garbage and tells us that she is going on lunch break but she will have someone look out after us.  I overhear her tell the next table that she is going to another place to eat because she does not eat Bob Evans!! Can you believe that?? Needless to say that no one came over to our table to check on us so we got up and got the check from another server.  Went to pay a gentleman with the title of "Assistant General Manager".  That's a knee slapper.  Assistant general manager hiding behind the cash register the whole time.  There is no one in charge at this place and it is a darn shame, and we were there at 3PM! It wasn't even busy at that time so there is no excuse. Good food can overcome bad service but this place had bad food AND bad service.

    3.5 stars

It's been a while (years) since I've paid a visit to Bob Evans, so I was definitely excited to come back here during the Fourth of July Weekend.

Growing up in Virginia, my family and I often came here for breakfast and dinner. The decor is very homey and it's cozy inside. Our server was attentive and our water cups were always full. The majority of the dishes on their menu are tasty, prepared well, and affordable. Their breakfast and Bob Evans Classic items (ie. Country-Fried Steak, Meat Loaf & Gravy, and Open-Faced Roast Beef) are on point.

For the most part, Bob Evans is just like how I remember. However, one thing that has changed, which saddens me is that they no longer offer their bread basket as complimentary. They used to give us fresh biscuits, buns, and banana nut bread for free. You now have to pay for it. Our server was so SWEET (saw how heartbroken we were) and gave us some biscuits without charging us. If you're reading this, Thank You once again.

Looking for a hearty meal filled with delicious carbs?

    Bob Evans has that covered!

Good ole Bob Evans. I have become a regular here, so it holds a special place in my heart now. You may not like it as much, but I will tell you why I love it.

Location - just off of 95/395. Pretty good size parking lot. Also near a few hotels off of Commerce Ave, in case you are visiting the area.

Staff/Service - The women there are amazing - always on task. There are about 3 guys I see there all the time. One guy is new (I was actually sitting at a nearby table when he had his interview), but even with learning the ins and outs, he still hustles. One other guy is great and the last guy is average. The hostess - is a sweetheart. :-)

Food - I usually come for breakfast which is always good and comes fast. It's southern influences so grits, biscuits and gravy (none of which I eat) are all on the menu. Once I did come in the evening and ordered a burger. OMG it was awful. However, the next time I was there for dinner, they did redeem themself with the meatloaf. Herfe's a weird fact - I have yet to have a chicken Caesar salad there. When I do, I might amend this review.

Just a note around 8AM in the morning arrives the retired guys. I think it's cute there are all in there getting breakfast and I am pretty sure they have a senior discount.

Bonus - Free Wifi at Bob Evans in case you're into that.

I took my family here for breakfast. Something different from Ihop and Denny's. When we were seated at our table, I saw these amazing biscuit that were being served to other customers. I ordered the classic breakfast, which includes a choice of pancakes or french toast, eggs to order, and a choice of Bob Evan sausage or bacon. Let me tell you....that is some good ass breakfast!!! I had the french toast, which was amazing to the taste, and the Bob Evan sausage can not be compared, to the other breakfast restaurants. I'm usually a bacon person, except when I go to Bob Evans. The biscuit was fluffy and flaky. With a little butter in between made your mouth watered. I had their biscuit and made a little sandwich with my eggs. It was amazing. To top it off, I had a slice of their coconut cream pie. Sooo good....it was sooo good that when I went home, I took a little nap and I was out for 2 hours. Totally missed lunched, but after that amazing breakfast, I was not really hungry for lunch. I would give Bob Evans 5 stars, the only issue I had was the location of the restaurant and the lack of parking. Other then that, the service was good and the breakfast was excellent.

My friend and I was hungry after he helped me moving stuffs.  So, we decided to stop by Bob Evans for dinner.  We went in and waited for several minutes to get the seats.  The place was very empty, and waited for another 20 minutes.  None of the waiters showed up to take orders.  After another 10 minutes just stood up and left.

I had great experiences at Bob Evans in Cleveland, Ohio; but not in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

    Breakfast Review!

I haven't had lunch or dinner here before. I only go for breakfast cause it's one of my favorite spots (definitely better than IHOP & Denny's). The biscuits and sausage gravy are delicious. That is always our appetizer. I've had the pancakes with the cream cheese slapped in between them and those things are huge but yummy! I can never finish it all though. The crepes are tasty too and they now added a "lighter side" insert to their menu to give you healthier/lighter options for breakfast.

There is a lot to choose from on the menu and many items you can buy A la carte. I don't like their home fries cause they tasted like raw chopped red potatoes. I'm used to the ones that look like browned squares and are kind of soft in the middle. The banana bread is flavorful as well.
I've never had a problem with service, and if something was wrong on the check (happened once), they were quick to fix it. The last time we went we even got a waiter that was obviously new and training and he did a great job. It never seems to be crowded when we go and the atmosphere is pleasant and casual and always clean.

The prices are pretty cheap and so my bf and I always get a little bit of everything or share our meal for more variety. If you get anything like pancakes, crepes, french toast, etc that has a fruit topping on it, they do tend to go a little heavy on that so you may want to ask for it on the side if you don't want your meal drenched in it.
If you haven't eaten here, try it AT LEAST once for breakfast. Even if its not going to be your new favorite, you wont be disappointed.

Bob Evans, down on the farm!

Sorry, commercials just stick sometimes. And coincidentally, so will the breakfast! To your arteries and your ribs. There's no place like Bob Evans to get a great big breakfast that will keep you full for hours. Denny's you say? Nope, Denny's has watery eggs and funky flat sausage. Bob Evans has their own line of sausages, for crying out loud! You'll never find a better biscuit, either. Nice and buttery, fluffy, good.

Come see Bob for a nice Sunday morning meal, but be prepared to wait in line with all the other farm goers.

How do you show a visiting Italian the excesses of a real American breakfast?  Take them to Bob Evans.

I had the Rise and Shine breakfast which consisted of eggs, meat of choice (bacon or sausage), home fries, and 2 biscuits.  You have your choice of toast or biscuits.  I gotta say, don't skip out on the biscuit.  My new Italian friend really enjoyed his strawberry banana pancakes.  Everyone in the party felt really full and sleepy afterward.  Mission accomplished.  Normally, we'd have pie but there was no room.

This is a popular breakfast place especially on the weekends.  Fortunately, the wait was only about 10-15 minutes.  Service was ok.  No complaints.  Parking can be a pain in the ass.  You may have to park around the block or across the street if the lot is full.  Definitely will be back when I don't feel like hitting up IHOP.

The best place to go for breakfast.  I go here every week.  The service is top notch and the food is great.  The country fried steak is fantastic and so are the other breakfast items.  The only bad things are the ribs.

This is about BREAKFAST only!  I'm a big fan of breakfast and Bob Evans just hits the spot! It's pretty good food considering how cheap it is.
I've tried all the basics and more (scrambled eggs to stuffed pancakes) and so far so good. Their country fried steak is also delicious.
Avoid going on the weekends if possible because the wait is too long and service is a bit slow. I like going when I'm in the mood for breakfast for dinner. The place isn't crowded and the staff is usually pretty attentive.

Don't go here; the food is mediocre at best. The staff is often rude and over worked. I've had numerous issues here until I finally just said no more. From my mother-in-law not getting her salad until after the other five people in our party had finished their meal. Orders being wrong and the staff being unapologetic. I'm one of those people who doesn't want to complain in the restaurant because I suspect people spit in your food, this is one of those places where I try and kill them with kindness from start to finish in an effort to ensure I get coffee refills. Oh and there's always a wait for weekend breakfast.

My friends and I came here to eat when we were on vacation living in Springfield.  We're from the West Coast so we've never heard of Bob Evans, but we decided to try this restaurant because it was walking distance from our hotel.

The night we ended up going happened to be a bad night -- they forgot to turn on their roaster ovens that day and they ran out of potatoes.   It's silly for a diner to run out of their main ingredient, since more than half of their dishes are served with potatoes.  It's their job to serve complex carbohydrates slathered, saturated, or deep fried in oil.

However these restrictions were good because it allowed me to eat a bit healthier -- I ordered the Country Stir Fry and that allowed me to feel less guilty about ordering dessert.  :)

You must try the Apple Dumpling Pie.  We ordered the Apple Dumpling Pie and took it back to the hotel and we savored every last bit of it...
PS: It's better cold, no matter what anybody says.

Oh and I recommend the Pumpkin Bread.  It's amazing.

I come here almost once a month. Food is great (if you love breakfast) and service depends on your waiter/waitress. If you are hungry, go for the Homestead Breakfast. If you want an Omelet get the Farmers Market Omelet. If you want good service, I usually ask for Erica. Last time I was served by Tigist, I had to flag her down for refills and I was the only customer in that section! Ask for Erica, you will thank me later.
