If you're in the mood for neighborhood dives that kinda smell like your grandma's musty basement (with matching decor), than Bobby D's is your ticket.
I've been in here a few times over the course of 10+ years, and I can quite honestly say, it never looks like much (if anything now that I think about it) has changed. Â The atmosphere is definitely local, and a place that exudes a level of familial comfort..if your aren't expecting much and just want to hang with your friends.
Inside, it's a tad dim, dark decor and you can't help but notice the old-school island bar with tall stools that dominates the main room. Â Various bottles and drafts in tap, typical well drinks, and bar top video games.
A kitchen inside cranks out food at a regular basis. Â I can't comment on the taste, because I've yet to try anything, but it appears the kitchen prepares typical 'bar-genre' food.
I would guess their claim to fame would be the fact they have Karaoke. Â Like any Karaoke bar, you have your regulars which are pretty darn good, and then there's the occasional guy/girl that you have to mentally tune out and pray there's someone with a hook or Gong Show judge ready to strike....but everyone seems to take it in stride and are polite and friendly.
Overall, the place just looks a bit dated and dark, but a fine place for the blue collar local to unwind after work. Â An 'okay' dive bar in a town sadly lacking for anything else unpretentious.
I am fairly new regular at Bobby D's and honestly I love it. It's conveniently located across the street from my work, so after my closing shifts I head over with my coworker for a beer or two. I love the regulars that come here! Not only is everyone very nice and inviting but the staff is great too. Desiree is my favorite bartender ever! She always has the best attitude and a smile on her face. Her drinks are the best, and she's always right there when your drinks getting a little low. Kat's super awesome as well, but have only been there once while she was serving.
The karaoke is amazing entertainment here since most of the locals can actually sing. The others not so much but it's fun to watch. It's a rather smaller bar but how much space do you really need? Personally I prefer the cozier dive feeling over a larger more crowded bar. I always have a great time at Bobby D's whether it's singing and dancing along with the eager karaoke singers or the juke box, or the awesome conversations and laughs with my new friends.
Also there is beer pong competitions I think on Tuesday nights!
