Seriously? 3 stars at most? I thought it was pretty darned good. Yeah it's a bit more expensive than Subway, but you get what you pay for. After a long and strenuous day of going to the optometrist and then visiting my favorite guitar store, Buffalo Brothers, I figured I'd give this place a shot on my way back home. I stopped by and got the "Stuffer" (steak, provolone, cherry peppers, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, and marinara). It was quite delicious and hearty. Or maybe I was just hungry and was willing to eat anything... and unless my taste buds were off and my jaw was messed up, I didn't have any issues with 'tough' or 'stale tasting' bread - in fact, the sandwich was quite tasty and it was pretty big too. Think 1.5x the size of a Subway sandwich. I'm tempted to say twice the size but that would be an exaggeration.
The lady gave me a piece of foil to wrap it in the case that I couldn't finish. HA! In my mind I shunned the suggestion while smiling and taking it.
Needless to say, I *did* finish the sandwich (and probably in less than 10 minutes at that). And I certainly walked out with a stuffed tummy. I wouldn't mind coming back here every now and then, and IMHO, it deserves a little more than 3 stars.
How it compares to other sandwich places? Well, based on my one experience of eating one of their hot sandwiches, I would have to say it's much better than Subway, Togos, and Quiznos. Other than that, I guess I'm not familiar enough with other more generalized (ie where they sell more than just Philly cheesesteaks and Italian sausages) sandwich places.
3.5 rating. I ordered a turkey, avocado, tomato & cheese with mustard, lettuce and pickles on sourdough bread. My to go order had it all: sandwich with all the requested toppings and napkins.
It tasted pretty good to me, better than I expected. The ingredients were fresh. There was Siracha at the counter to spice up the sandwich but I did not use it. I'll return to try their meatball sandwich, or if I arrive early enough I will try their breakfast. There are only three breakfast items listed on their take-out menu but there may be more.
I could see myself changing my rating to a higher one in subsequent visits.
