This place is a time capsule when cafes and diners flourished before the advent of fast foods. You expect to see Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer on the next booth.

Bon A Pita is one of those small family-owned restaurants that you might have never heard of, but they serve a really diverse variety of food ranging from traditional American sandwiches to a mixture of Lebanese and Mediterranean dishes, inspired by the owners' background. My favorite thing on the menu is the Chicken Kabob Pita Sandwich, but they also serve burgers, salads, cold & hot sandwiches, and kabob plates. They also serve breakfast all day! The atmosphere of the restaurant is more quiet and laid-back, but since it's a family-owned restaurant, the service is really friendly and welcoming. If you're in the area and craving some authentic lebanese food, definitely give this restaurant a try!

I was super excited to have spotted a local restaurant that served some Middle Eastern grub. I took my lunch break and drove 3 minutes to give Bon A Pita a try.

The environment makes you feel like you've walked into your elderly neighbors kitchen. It's outdated and has that granny-chic feel to it. Nonetheless, I scoured the menu in search of the perfect lunchtime fare to chow down on. I noticed the menu was filled with random items that you can find @ your local diner and Denny's. You'll then encounter a few Middle Eastern treats. It looks like I came for the falafel sandwich!

The sandwich was about $5 and fairly small. I wish it had more ANYTHING: lettuce, tomatoes, &/or falafel even! From that first experience I thought I'd give it another shot. I wandered back over during another lunch break and this time I got the babaganoush dip with pita. It was a little too sour for me. I couldn't tell if it was lemon, lime, or even vinegar. Yes, it was that odd and it really didn't hit the spot. Unfortunately, I have yet to go back ever since my last two tries.

Sure, it's been a wee bit since my first visits. I'm hoping that when I find myself back down that way that I'd muster up the courage to stroll back into Bon A Pita to grab another item to try. I noticed that the regulars and other locals come here for their breakfast...maybe their onto something that I don't know about. Hmm!
