Yum, yum, Â yum! Â This is my favorite lunch spot in Bolingbrook. Â The salmon is always cooked to perfection, honestly never had it less than perfect. Â My advice: order the Tex Mex hummus as an appetizer whether you're there for lunch or dinner. Â It's the best hummus I've ever had. Â If you're with someone who's not sure about hummus, this will make them a convert. Â
I've never experienced anything but the best of service. Â Their servers are very loyal, always have menu advice and can't seem to tell me how much they enjoy working there. Â Impressive.
Excellent food + Excellent service = Great dining experience
Some perspective: when Branmor's American Grill opened fifteen or so years ago, it really was the only classy choice for business/liquid lunches or that sort of thing in all of Bolingbrook. Â With The Promenade mall, that may have changed. Â However, that's clear on the other end of town and features chain style restaurants.
I too was duly impressed the first time when I walked into the Prairie style building. Â The brass on the doors was nice, the interior was well appointed and cozy and the service seemed to be friendly and on the mark. Â The food was rich and tasty and there seemed to be plenty of it. The noise levels (a big factor for me) were manageable. Â The parking there is hassle free.
As the years have dragged on, I have noticed that the owners have not maintained the building. For example, one of the exterior doors, facing west, had a sign on it indicating that it was out of order. Â That went on for years. Â While the inside was clean enough, I have noticed that it no longer sparkles as it once did.
Onto the food.  If you're into food with B-I-G calories, this place will serve you well.  Even the basic dinner salads have been whomped up with fried onions.  The bread is delicious and plentiful.  I have stayed with steak and beef entrées to remain on the safe side.  The variety in their main course choices seems to stem from how the chef adds extra calories to the base food.  If you are watching your weight or trying to impress someone who is, this may not be the place for you.
Here's the bottom line on what I use to discern about going to Branmor's: if someone else is paying, then go for it; if not, then look elsewhere.
I've been here a couple of times in the last year. The appetizers, salads, and steaks are amazing. Both times I had the blue cheese steak with russet potatoes and it's one of the most delicious meals I've experienced in my life. It's a little bit pricey compared to the chain restaurants in Bolingbrook, but definitely worth the price.
The desserts I've had are the only thing that make this a 4 instead of a 5. The first time I was there, they had a cookie dough cheesecake that I wanted to try, but did not. Craving it for months, I asked about it when I returned, and the waiter merely said that the dessert menu was everything they had and didn't offer more explanation. I'm not sure if they have seasonal desserts, but I was disappointed I couldn't finally try the cheesecake I regretted not ordering the first time. The French Silk Pie and regular Cheesecake I had were really nothing special.
Love Branmor's!! We have been going here for several years on special occasions such as anniversary's or birthdays, and I thought it time I put up a quick review. I almost always get the Mixed Grill. It is not often that you find a place that gives you three different kinds of seafood on one plate. So you gotta love that. It's always great and the fish is cooked perfectly. Sometimes I'll get the Pretzel Chicken which is always excellent and not like anything I've had anywhere else. The service is always great, from the hosts, to the servers to the busers. Always attentive and personable. Bottom line........A very nice place, with great food and great service. A gem in this area and we are glad to have Branmor's in our neighborhood. We will definitely keep coming back!
Review Source:A few years back, we went to Branmor's and I remember it being amazing. Â I had some mahi mahi dish and I devoured it - delicious. Â I've been randomly remembering about it and suggesting it since then, but we haven't gone. Â So I finally convinced my family to go for father's day this year. Â I got the ultimate mac and cheese, and I wasn't a fan, but my kid loved it. Â We went on the first day of their ribfest and my husband got a full rack with creole sauce. Â He liked it, but said the sauce didn't have much of a kick. Â I think everyone else was ok with their meals, but no one was fawning over them, the way I was so many years back. Â
Now the service was something else. Â Something bad. Â Our waitress acted like it was a chore to take care of us, cut us off when we were talking to her, and basically sucked. Â I mean, she did her job, she just was crabby and rude about it. Â Even when she was saying Happy Father's Day to the 3 dads with us, she might as well have been wearing a sign that said, "they make me say this." Â Ugh. Â
I'm not excited that I recommended it to everyone, and I won't be pushing to go there again. Â
One nice thing, when we were leaving, the manager grabbed us before we got out the door and gave each of the dads a little tin of rib rub. Â I thought that was nice, but it didn't quite save the experience.
We went here for an early dinner as part of the Groupon deal. Â My hubby got the chicken schnitzel and I got a sirloin steak. Â My hubby really hated his dinner but I think that was mainly because he did not know what was schnitzel. Â My steak was a bit tough and was nothing spectacular. Â Frankly, we make better steak on our grill from Costco. Â On the plus note, our waitress was really attentive and we loved their fresh bread.
Review Source:From my highly subjective personal experience, Branmor's is a great place to go when you are back in town visiting your parents and they are paying for all your food and you recognize it as maybe the last opportunity you may ever have to get ribs because you didn't go to college and so all job opportunities at your feet are part time and barely pay the rent.
Also, I'm pretty sure I killed someone named Branmor in a Final Fantasy game once.
In addition to the ribs (which were fine, if a little light on sauce) I had a steak soup type thing which was good, I had a glass of Pinot Noir which was a red wine that came in a wine glass and everything, so there's that. I also had some of my mom's mac and cheese and kind of wish I ordered that instead, but I am not one to complain about free ribs.
In the men's bathroom, one of the faucets had a missing handle. They should probably take care of that.
Well, had such good memories of my first meal here that I chose it for my 50th birthday dinner tonight. Â My son ordered the lobster tail and I had the crab legs. Â I was severely disappointed. Â The lobster was overcooked and tough as leather. Â The crab legs were ice cold at the tips and smelled fishy. Â The best part of the meal was the wedge salad that came with it. Â I should have left well enough alone and not returned. Â $100 for poorly cooked seafood? Â I won't be back.
Review Source:I have been coming here since you opened. Â Maybe 2 x's per year. Â You have been consistent, unfortunately that may be your weakness. Â I haven't written it down, but it seems like the menu is the same everytime I go. Â I know you like to be known for Prime Rib and that's ok, but let's change the rest of it a little. Â More Seafood for example, or some crazy thing like meatloaf, I don't know what to suggest for sure, but let's get out of the box a little, venture off to the wild side.
Review Source:We go to Branmors on a regular basis. Â It's the best restaurant in Bolingbrook. Â Â If you're looking for a non-chain restaurant in the area that treats you more like family than a customer, this is the place. Â Â
Favorite Appetizers:
Shrimp Cocktail  - 4 large shrimp served cold with cocktail sauce and horseradish. Â
Black and Blue beef tips - tender pieces of pepper crusted steak served with mashed potatoes (my wife often orders this as an entree)
Lunch:
Mac n Cheese is fantastic (it comes with bacon)
Meatloaf Sandwich is great and a huge portion
Dinner:
Fillet Medalions in a wine reduction - my usual dinner favorite
Pretzel Chicken - if you don't want steak
Jagerschnitzel - only on their Octoberfest menu. Â Wish it was available year round.
The wine selection is very good and reasonably priced. Â The bar is a great place to hang out. Â The wait staff is friendly and treat you right. Â Â
The cons: Â
it's in a dumb location - this restaurant would be a lot more popular if it were near the mall.
The bar area is a bit small - Â a larger bar area with some live music would suit this place well.
We've held a few parties here in their back room. Â They do a fantastic job with private events for a very reasonable price. Â Â Â Highly recommended.
I went here with my parents to celebrate their anniversary. A good choice for a special event: classy, not super noisy, & reasonably priced menu for a steak and seafood place.
The decor/setting is well chosen:
- First of all, CARPETING! It muffles the sound and just makes everything a little cozier.
- Booths are wide with long benches; room for several people and still space for purses etc.
- No crazy music trying to hype up the atmosphere; I didn't even hear the "smooth jazz" background music at all until I went into the ladies' room.
- Lighting could be a bit brighter.
They had just changed the menu this week so anything on the "right side of the menu" (steaks and seafood, mainly) came with a starch & soup or salad, and they also have a la carte sides. My wedge salad was serviceable, definitely not the star player, and not the best salad ever, but a fine beginning.
For the special occasion we each got a lobster tail (market price; $32 today), very sizeable (do not think puny Red Lobster portions) and tender, complete with a bitty "fondue pot" (complete with tea light) of drawn butter. Utter decadence from the sea.
For dessert the three of us split the "French Silk Pie for 2" -- it was plenty for three, being very rich and unusually dense for this variety of pie. Accented with a swirl of whipped cream and a zing of raspberry coulis, there were multiple flavors and textures happening. (The one unfortunate aspect was the nigh-impossible-to-remove paper band around the edge, which was holding the circular piece of pie in place. Perhaps there's a better way to plate this?)
Branmor's wine list was pleasingly comprehensive, and they give you a good pour, providing a small carafe of wine that was almost a second glass.
Our waitress was friendly and on top of things, managing our table with ease and checking up on us throughout our meal (which seems too much to ask at some places).
Overall, a nice choice for a special dinner out (and the price won't kill you). I'll have to partake in more of Branmor's on future occasions.
Branmor's has been serving up some of the best food in the area for years. I wouldn't exactly call it an American grill though. There's a lot of French and Italian influences in their dishes. If you ever happen to come here on the rare occasion they have it, get the calamari. This is the best calamari you will ever have, and they cook it tempura style instead of breaded and fried. All of their steak and seafood dishes are excellent. It's hard to put my finger on any specific dishes that stand out. They are all equally delicious. The atmosphere is very comfortable and classy. Be prepared to bring lots of cash when coming here. It's not cheap.
Review Source:I went here with my parents for dinner. We've been here before with mixed experiences, but decided to go again because my father had a Groupon for it. But we realized the discount wasn't worth it and we won't go back again.
We ordered the bruschetta for an appetizer. While the flavors were good, it was served on top of a loaf of focaccia which made it difficult to eat.
We knew something was wrong when our salads came next. They were an extra $3 per entree and for that, we got bowls of wilted iceberg lettuce topped with a mound of fried onions. The onions were cold and rubbery, clearly not fresh. I had a puddle of water at the bottom of my bowl and it looked like they just dumped the dressing right on top. My mom's salad was barely edible so she sent it back.
The entrees were underwhelming. I had the filet which was fine, but the demi glace was like a puddle under the steak. My dad got the trout which he said was good, but he had to dig through a mountain of arugula just to find it. My mom had the coconut shrimp--let's just say it was more coconut than shrimp.
This restaurant bills itself as fine dining, but they lack the ability to properly execute the dishes. If you go, get a steak. It's the safest bet.
I love this place, I go there at least once a week. Seriously everything in their menu is delicious, I love their Apple and Spinach salad, their Caesar Salad dressing its made from scratch, pretty much all their food is real and fresh. A little expensive, but worth it. Most people are dressed nice, no shorts or t-shirts...but you don't need to be overdressed either, casual is OK.
Review Source:A while ago my family and I went here for some special event. Â It's great for big parties - I liked that all of our meals came out at about the same time. Â I've gone to restaurants before with ten or more people and it's very awkward to have your meal come and the person sitting next to you has bread and butter for 10 minutes.
The staff was on the spot with their water and beverage refills. Â Their drinks were strong and tasty.
The food was great. Â But, if you are vegan or vegetarian, eh... you're looking at a complication. Â Now if you're pescetarian, you're in the money. Â Their fish here is to die for!
Meh.
So I'll be first to state that I was not going to review this place, because well, its a steakhouse and I'm a vegetarian. Â But I'll say that those vegetarians out there, I would avoid this on your next outing (I came with a few other people) as there really isn't much to eat except a few salads and grill cheese (which I got and which was nothing it was billed up to be). Â The sandwich was a bit too salty and there was nothing original about it. Â But on the bright side, I got the fruit cup on the side and it was delicious and fresh. Â
And the inside did NOT remind me of Frank Lloyd Wright... but just another "upscale look" restaurant mixed with the bones of a forgotten diner.
I used a Groupon to discover Branmor's. Â I was very excited about the menu and thought that if a place could pull off a menu as ambitious as the one I saw online being so close to me. I saw reviews were mixed on both yelp and google but I decided to give it a try anyway.
I was very underwhelmed. I guess it should be evident to the management that something is wrong when I can walk in at 8 on a Friday and get a seat at a booth that is more appropriate for 5 people. Still I wanted to give the menu a try. I heard from others in the neighborhood that the food is mediocre and that many of thee menu items were unavailable. Sadly I wish I could have been so l lucky.
I started with two appetizers, the calamari and the tuna. The calamari came out in this big nasty clump of batter that made those beautiful cuts of squid a blob of grease that that wasn't special.
Next the tuna was either from frozen or otherwise oxidized(judging by the color) and slightly bland and only elevated to the point of edibility by an aoli that was used in both my appetizers. Something that my server should have pointed out so I could have made another selection. What's even more troubling is the menu emphasized that the tuna is served rare yet it could have definitely been fresher.
The main course I had the filet which I have no complaints about. Was cooked to my liking.
For desert I requested the creme brulee because of the seasonal accompaniment that was offered in the menu, but when I was told that it was served plain, I regretfully chose the bananas forester instead. The batter on the ice cream was thick difficult to break through with a spoon and otherwise inedible. I guess one could argue that it could have distracted me from the overwhelmly sweet caramel sauce that could have easily put me in a diabetic coma.
I'm a big guy and granted I didn't eat all day and left most I've the desert on the plate but I ordered five plates. At the price point with that level of execution I would never go back unless the price point lowered or the quality of the food is drastically increased.
My family went there for dinner, I had driven past it many times over the years and had never been there! It's really nice inside, cozy yet casual. I had a special ribeye that night. It was rubbed in some cajun spices and grilled. If you want a great steak, I suggest you go there! Â My whole family were pleased with their dinners. The steak was around $24.99 and came with a potato and salad, I believe. It was a big steak, and the flavor was really good.
Review Source:Branmor's is my absolute favorite place for a special dinner. Â I love the warm, comfortable atmosphere. Â In some ways, the interior it looks inspired by the design of Frank Lloyd Wright. Â
The food is consistently excellent - always fresh, always delicious. Â The salmon on my first visit was so amazing that I can't go and not order it. Â Doubly delicious with the garlic mashed. Â My husband loves the ribs and steak. Â Chef Walt is always able to deliver a unique twist on a traditional entree, by kicking up a spice or by its presentation.
The service is always fantastic and friendly. Â Chef Walt is not only talented, but a very warm, generous person.
Branmor's often hosts mid-week beer and wine tastings with complimentary drinks and food. Â They are so fun! Â Be sure to join their Facebook page. Â
I feel lucky that this great neighborhood establishment is a part of the community!
(Yelp really needs to allow for 1/2 stars - this place is a solid 3-1/2, but not quite a 4.)
The rating is as much for the service as it is for the food.
I had a really great experience here. While my knee-jerk desire is, generally, to try trendy or more unique restaurants, there are days when you just want a relaxing, comfortable dining experience, where the food and the service just seem to hit the spot. That's Branmor's. Nothing shocking on the menu, but nothing pretentious, either - just quality choices, at reasonable prices, with great flavor and without that "chain restaurant" feel.
If you're in the mood for a casual, friendly, quality dining experience, Branmor's is a great option. Its prices allow you to try several different menu items (the loaded potato shanks are a heavy, but fantastic, starter), but it's not "cheap." If you've got your eye on a night of casual (but quality) steaks, chops, or seafood, Branmor's won't disappoint.
I never heard of Branmor's until a friend brought me there, saying the food was pretty good.
I ordered the lamb and it was good. Â Not very pricey and well cooked, not over done or dry compared to other lamb dishes I've had before.
A Groupon came out recently so I'll have to write another review after I go back.
So I previously did a review on Branmor's and the quality of service/food continues to be excellent. Â We probably eat at Branmor's at least once a month. Â But this review is just for the sweet pepper crab soup, because, quite frankly, it is awesome. Â You might be looking over the menu, hmm, should I order some soup with my meal? Â Will it be too much food? Â Will red peppers and crab be a good flavor combination....Hmm...yes, by all means, order the sweet pepper crab soup! Â I like it so much, I tried to make my own last weekend, a spectacle which can be best surmised as a two hour roasted pepper debacle. Â Soup making is harder than it looks.
Oh yeah, shout-out to the tuna appetizer. Â It melts in your mouth.
This place was quite decent. Â Many unique items, several lunch specials with a lot of variety. Â Friendly and knowledgable staff. The Frank Lloyd Wright-ish architecture style makes for a nice atmosphere.
We were there for lunch. Â The Santa Fe chicken pasta is recommended. Â The Cuban pulled pork sandwich received compliments. Â Steak is their specialty, of course, but no one in my party tried it. Â Dessert options looked great. Â I would definitely go back.
Went here on a business trip. Good appetizers, especially the stuffed mushrooms and calamari. Loaded baked potato soup was overpowered by bacon and salt. Had grilled seafood special with butterfish, salmon and prawns. Butterfish was great but the salmon and prawns were just a touch over cooked and over salted just as the soup was. Â Had it not been for the salt, I would have given 4 stars.
Review Source:I love there food. It's always good, The location could be a bit better because I always forget to go there because it gets lost behind all the restaurants on weber. But every time I go there I am never disappointed, there food is always continuously good. I've even eaten here for a banquet and it was still good! that says a lot because banquet food isn't exactly the best.
Review Source:My wife and I have gone to dinner here 3 different times. Â The atmosphere is open but still private and quiet. Â The chef specials are usually what I order. Â The quality and taste of the food is very good. Â The service has always been above average. Â The time between appetizers/salads is a little lengthy, but its worth the wait. Â Ample parking, easy to get in and out of and large foyer/waiting area. Â The prices are a little on the high side.
Review Source:Someone recommended this place and I am glad they did.
The people that work here are very nice, service is great, and food is delicious. That is a great combination that keeps bringing us back!! I just love when the ribs fall off of the bone and I do not have to wrestle the meat.
They also have coupons out in mailers. Â Worth the trip.
BEST dining experience EVER! I was referred to this place by a friend in the area. Â he did not let me down. Â I wanted to go to a place where I could take my in-laws. Â We all loved the Frank Lloyd Wright prairie style interior. Â It was a nice enough place where you could dress casual or have a "dress up" night as well. Â We ordered about 4 different appetizers from the Coconut Shrimp with Chipotle sauce to the Calamari Fritters. Â The Crab & Shrimp Stuffed Mushrooms and Fried Calamari Fritters with Honey Dijon & Red Pepper Aioli, were the best we have EVER had!!
The menu was very reasonable for the quality that you are getting.  I've been to other pricey restaurants and you dont get the quality that you are paying for.  We all loved our entrees.  I had the best steak of my life, the Premier Ribeye! Soooo tender!!  Dessert was great, had their signature Flourless Chocolate Waffle and a couple of their $2 Mini desserts (Key Lime, Amaretto Mousse and Bread Pudding).  They have a full bar with a very original cocktail/martini list.  The wine list is huge but not too overbearing.  I couldnt express the laid back personalites on the staff.  From the hostess, manager and our server, they all made us feel like we were amongst friends! Great service! This place impressed my in laws so much that they want to come back  the next time that they are in town, and  to show friends of theirs as well.  Thank you Branmor's for impressing the two hardest  people in the world!! lol.  Just glad to know that there is a GREAT, stand alone restaurant in the Naperville area!
Not a huge fan of Branmor's. My ex boyfriend  (aka. rat bastard) who lives in Bolingbrook swears by it like it's fine dining. The food was good and so was the service. Just so I don't come off as a complete downer, I will say that the stuffed mushrooms were the highlight for me. There was nothing extra special about the menu. It was just another chain-like family place to me; nothing sexy.
Review Source:I didn't hate this place, I liked it, but I wasn't in love with it.
I was visiting friends in the area and we came here for lunch. Our sever was very friendly and attentive, always checking to make sure we had everything we needed, letting us know while we waited the food would be out shortly, y'know... good service. The place itself is fine, nothing fancy, nothing cutting edge, but good for the area.
The menu is very much a steak and chop place, there are other options, some interesting salads, pasta, but a lot of heavy items. Rich sauces with butter and cream, (um, does everything have to come with a demi glace?), even many of the salads had french fried onions. Now, far be it from me to halt the consuming of calories, but after a long weekend of walking down the path of too much, I was looking for something a little more healthier, fresher, not made with brie. I went with the tuna Asian salad, it was fine. It came with lettuce, (iceberg), a little fried rice, some broccoli, fried won ton strips and seared Ahi tuna. Really, it was just fine. My friends had the crab ravioli in a lobster cream sauce, which was good, and the grid iron steak, which he liked.
I agree with some other reviews, I think its a little pricey, but not to say it isn't worth it. They do seem to have coupons out there, so you may just want to take a look around. I just don't know if my waistline could handle coming here more than once in a while.
I grew up in Romeoville/Bolingbrook and I absolutely love this place. Â I've never found a better filet, and the service is always very professional.
I can never resist the filet, but I've had tastes of a lot of their other choices, and their fish is always delicious as well.
You gotta check this one out if you are in the area!
I LOVE Branmors! We have never had a bad meal here! The menu is vast and the small touchs are appreciated!
You have to try the Crab & Shrimp Stuffed Mushrooms- Â
Large mushroom caps filled with a bay shrimp & crabmeat stuffing then topped with our Lobster Cream sauce & confetti peppers.
My fav is the: Santa Fe Chicken- Julienne chicken breast simmered in spicy Santa Fe Butter sauce, tossed with Roma tomatoes, spinach & Ziti pasta garnished with Parmesan cheese & spinach. Â
Then for dessert, if there's any room left, split a Banana's Foster-
Very Yummy, a hidden suburban gem!
ok i've been here twice. the first time, i got steak and my husband did too. mine was good. my husband's was way more well done than he wanted, so he told the waiter. Not only did the waiter go have them make him a new steak, the manager came and apologized, the new steak was bigger, and they gave us some wine and dessert for free! Â Nice! Â
i wouldn't say the food was the best i've ever had or anything, but its a nice place for a date or a family dinner. it seems to be kid friendly.
