Have been going to Brass Balls  continuously since 1999, bad experience last trip ordered my usual Burke's breakfast, eggs over easy, NO CHEESE SAUCE, cheddar cheese please and rye toast! eggs came no cheese! Spoke to the food server not waitress, food server spoke to waitress and the waitress (a little attitude)  told me that I did NOT ask for cheddar cheese I told her I did ask so they took my eggs back and out cheddar cheese on them.  When the bill came I was charged $1.98 extra because they "substituted" and had to put on the cheddar cheese.  I have ordered the same breakfast everytime I eat there and NEVER have I been charged extra!  I know it is only $1.98 but it is the pure principal....... Just not happy!!!!
Not sure I will be returning all these years and NEVER had this problem.

Bartender and Manager Very rude, Does not appear to like  African-Americans.I        came here with the mindset to eat with my wife (after 15 years we decided to try it again) what a mistake.  I would never recommend this place to anyone. This place  does not  care about yelp ratings. So Let's show them that yelp ratings matters.

Really great food and good service!!   Wasn't sure where to go that night but since staying next door at the Hojo's we decided to try it.  Glad we did!   Grilled chicken sandwiches and cold beers!!  Make sure you get the waffle fries, they are worth it, came out piping hot and you get plenty of them!    Sat on the top floor, nice view of the beach and everyone walking by, place was not crowded so it was great!  Will def go again!

Waitress was extremely friendly and talkative....cool atmosphere and pretty good food. My burger was pretty average and boring but the waffle fries and chicken tenders were phenomenal.

Went twice over the weekend with a pretty big group of friends and the servers were nice and friendly and more than happy to accommodate our large group.  We went both times for brunch because it was one of the only couple of places open on the boardwalk this time of year.  If it was warmer, we definitely would've sat outside if the weather was warmer because they have a pretty big outdoor section.  But this place has two floors and two bars, but plenty of seating as well that's not at the bar.  They have a good breakfast and lunch selection, and you can get both options during the lunch service.  We all tried each others food on both days and both days it did not disappoint.  We all left pleased, and it was a great price too!  No complaints about this place either.  The hand painted artwork on the wall of all the celebrities was awesome too.  You also have to sit in the chairs on the very top floor that hang from the ceiling.  They're a good time too.  If you're in town, definitely stop in here!

PS. get at least one plate with a biscuit!  They're absolutely delicious and HUGE!

I came here for a quick pregaming bite before descending on Seacrets and had their grilled chicken sandwich which was overall a solid meal.

In a nutshell it was a fairly good bite and the service also complimented that.

The afternoon ambiance  was fair for a mid summer day and it felt as if the momentum was surely picking up.

I'd revisit for a longer meal like an entree and will review again.

A pretty solid place to eat on the Boardwalk of OC. I ordered the Crabcake/Tilapia meal. Was a solid meal for sure. Not real filler heavy like crabcakes you'd buy inland. Service was cool. The place has an "edgy" attitude. Prices were reasonable. We didn't have to wait to be seated either. A good experience overall.

Still excellent! Omelettes are huge and could be split (along with the biscuit) between two people or take half home for breakfast the next morning!

Some of the best food you'll find on the OC Boardwalk with some of the slowest service.

I've been here for breakfast and lunch on several occasions and have always left happy. They have an extensive menu with reasonable prices. They're drink menu has a lot of fun options. I recommend getting seating upstairs, but outside. The view of the boardwalk and beach makes up for the ridiculousness slow and confused service.

So first, the people working here are without a doubt on the foreign work exchange program. So there is a cultural/language barrier, much like the one you'll experience at any other establishment in OC. But what's worse is I think people working here are extremely young and inexperienced. So to get your order in, get your refills, get your check, all that stuff will require active participation on your part.

But the food is delicious! It'll take a while to come out, because they make it fresh. So come here only if you've got 2 hours to kill. Oh and be sure to go inside the upstairs bar, they have really fun decor. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see. :)

5 stars just for those "dirty bananas" cocktails! it is so good! we used to go to OC just so we can get those "dirty bananas", because it seems like they don't make it anywhere else!
food was ok, portions are big too. next time im on the east coast again, i will definitely come back to this place!

We wandered in for a drink while strolling the boardwalk during the afternoon. It was ok. I had the patron peach frozen margarita and shared the coconut shrimp app. The margarita was good but weak on the alcohol. I'm paying for more expensive tequila so feel like theres no reason to skimp on it. The coconut shrimp were good. Should give an even number to make sharing fair. We had to flip a coin over who got the last one. Service was friendly and quick. I'd go back.

Wandered in here for "breakfast" (noon can still be breakfast, right?) after a night of fun in OC.  We had 6 in our party, and they sat us out on the patio on the boardwalk and it was great.  Service was good, food was tasty, and the view of the beach and ocean was beautiful

As for the food: The biscuits are simply GINORMOUS.  Seriously, this thing was almost as big as my head.  But piled under some sausage gravy and teamed with an Irish Coffee was just what the dr. ordered after a night of ruckess-ness.  I ate a little over half not because I didn't like it, but because my eyes were bigger than my stomach.  My friends all enjoyed their orders as well.  I'd highly recommend this place for a morning after, and the bar area looked like it would be good for the night of too.  I'll give that a try next time I'm in town...

*Boardwalk Dive Bar. Cooking is NOT their strength*

This was our 3rd choice after our first two were still closed for the season. About the only positive thing we can say is that our waiter was friendly, and he was the bartender filling in. My biscuits & gravy were bland, cold, the biscuit hard as a rock, burned AND cold. My boyfriends "eggs with hash browns and fresh fruit" was actually overdone dry egg on a still frozen hash brown patty. One strawberry and a sliver of melon was laid IN the egg.
It looks like the place may be okay for a dive bar, though it seems to skew to an older crowd than myself. For food I would say DON'T EAT HERE...unless you're without other options like us. Even then I'd reconsider.

This is the best breakfast at the beach! Their homefries and biscuits are so good. This is definitely one of our favorite OC traditions every year.

We went here based on the 4 star rating.  I will never go back here.  The only thing it is good for is people watching.  The bathrooms are filthy.  The food is below average.  We had buffalo chicken dip as an app....it was so bland and not worth it.  I had the texas cheeseburger...it was pretty good (maybe a 3.5 star)..my husband and son had pizza..it was like roller rink pizza.  The waitress gave my 5 year old milk without a lid..it spilled all over.  I had to ask for a lid for the next drink.  Everyone was so rushed and careless.

Delicious and sinful comfort food. Ah yes. We go to Brass Balls on the boardwalk every time we've visited Ocean City. When I was younger, I opted for the cheeseburger and waffle fries. Now, older and able to drink, I opted for the hot wings, chili cheese fries and a couple mixed drinks. The mixed drink menu is fun and the food really hits the hankering for greasy boardwalk food. Not sure what else to say. It's tasty, there is outside seating and plenty of wait staff. Joy.

Maybe we hit this place on a really off night, but we thought it was overall terrible!

Our server was quite possible the most clueless person we have ever come across and she took forever in eternity to greet us, get our drinks and give us the check. We were easily trapped in this place for a good 2 hours. Being trapped in a bar may not necessarily be a bad thing, but we could never get refills on any of our drinks either. We should have taken it as a sign when we waited to be greeted for 20 minutes before anyone appeared at our table. We literally were on the verge of leaving when clueless person showed up.

The food was alright, but certainly nothing to write home about. A friend and I ordered appetizers as our meal and you could tell they were sitting under the heat lamp until the rest of our parties food was ready. Had it not been for our server, the food may have left a better tasting impression with me, but I don't think I will return to find out.

We wanted to come here for breakfast after being recommended, and it certainly lives up to reputation!

First of all, this restaurant is right in the middle of the oceam city boardwalk, and as you sit outside and dine you can watch the waves in the ocean or people watch.

The breakfast here was all really good. I got the two eggs (scrambled) with a side of bacon, biscuit, home fries, and fruit. All of this was really great, but in particular the biscuit and home fries were phenomenal. I can't really comment on the rest of their food since all we had was breakfast, but it is definitely worth a try when your down in OC

If you are looking for great hot sandwiches and a cold beer while people  and beach watching on the boardwalk it is hard to beat this place. I like the Ruben and my wife loves the Turkey Club.
There is limited seating right off the beach and boardwalk in the middle of all the action. Large bar on the inside but you can have drinks brought to your outside table.
This place can be busy but we very often are able to luck into a great seating. It is hard to go wrong here.

This is a no frills so/so bar/ restaurant. One of the best things going for this place is the location on the boardwalk and the wonderful view of the ocean. Mon-Fri they have happy hour. I'm not crazy about the food here( typical bar fare) but the drinks are very tasty.

I love this place!  My friends and I grabbed brunch here one day - we sat in the downstairs outdoor area, right on the boardwalk, which was very pleasant.  We had great mimosas and french toast.  The second visit was for dinner with a group of 15 - we sat on the upstairs deck.  Our waiter was great for such a large group.  We had tons of great food and drinks - I remember loving a banana drink.  The potato skins were fantastic.  I had grilled cheese and loved it.  Everyone was drunk and happy.

I guess the summer/seasonal crew was getting a bit tired (at least the cook), because the food could've been better for what was paid last friday evening.  i ordered the fried mac'n'cheese and for 5 bucks, i would've expected more than just 5 very small triangles on a saucer (looked like they were store-bought).  for dinner, i had the salad w/ the medium-rare tuna steak.  the salad was mostly iceberg lettuce and very uninteresting.  the tuna fish was tasting kinda "old."  (and i paid the amount for an entree.)

interesting name and nice guy for our waiter; but the good thing i can say about this place is that "i've been there."

My husband and I vacation in Ocean City, Maryland, every year and Brass Balls is hands-down my favorite place to eat while we're there.  We usually end up going back two-four times over a long weekend -- it's that good!

First of all, the view is amazing -- there is both an elevated front porch that is right out on the boardwalk/beach and an upper balcony that looks out over the ocean.  You can people-watch, enjoy the sound of the waves and the breezes off the water while you wait for your order.  The atmosphere inside is cozy and fun as well, but we've only eaten inside when the weather has turned cold and rainy -- because why wouldn't you want to eat on the beach??

A lot of Yelpers have reported that Brass Balls serves great breakfast, which is true -- and the bar is already open, so they definitely get points for that.  If you're not a morning/breakfast person, though, the lunch/dinner options are just as fabulous and haven't seemed to have gotten a lot of recent reviews on Yelp, so I'll add my praises for that portion of their menu...

I'm addicted to their coconut shrimp with raspberry dipping sauce.  I think that was the very first thing I ordered the first time that we tried out Brass Balls, and I always come back for more.  Likewise, the waffle fries are amazing and the Philly Steak and Cheese is a good-sized, tasty sandwich.  I've been meaning to try their Reuben and some of their other offerings, but honestly, these favorites always win out when it comes time to order.

There are also great specialty cocktails, the highlight of which are their ice cream drinks.  My husband started ordering a mudslide with every meal (they also had an Oreo Cookie variation that sounded like it was to die for), and a friend of ours sampled some kind of orange cooler (I can't remember the name) and a few other dessert beverages.

Perhaps the one downside is that my experience with the appetizers has only been so-so.  Portions can be a bit small (at least for the coconut shrimp and the mac-and-cheese), but the helpings for regular meals are more than enough.  Also, the spinach and artichoke dip went light on the cheese and heavy on the green veggie taste -- it wasn't bad, just not the usual flavor for a spinach and artichoke dip.  If you want something cheesy, just order the mozzarella sticks.

No matter what time of day, Brass Balls is a great place to grab a snack, a drink, or a full meal on the beach -- and it sounds like the Bad Ass Cafe, located on the upper level, is a great place to check out in the evenings as well (although my husband and I usually find ourselves farther down the boardwalk by the time the activity is said to pick up there).  I would definitely say that on your next visit to OC, make this place a priority!

Brass Balls makes Bodacious Biscuits which are great for taking to the beach with your morning Java if you can't or don't feel like staying for their scrumptious full breakfast.

You can't beat the view, practically sitting in the sand with the waves at your feet while you fill up on the tastiest breakfast in OC.  I actually had breakfast in my bathing suit and cover up.   Price isnt dirt cheap, you pay a bit more and you get ALOT more for the full tour!

Over easy's were perfect, biscuit - no other quit like it.  Perfecty browned with a hint of sweet to the outside and soft and flaky on the inside!  Delicious.  Topping mound of taters, seasoned lightly and then a bit of fruit on the plate and your well rounded as you roll to the beach, set until dinner!

PLUS, the bar is OPEN!!  Early early, nice add!

The service is great and the front tables fill and stay filled fast!  Carry out is always an option and they pack it with a smile!

We did do dinner once up stairs in the "Bad Ass Cafe" and it was great also but Breakfast here is my little bit of heaven!

Amazing. I've been coming to Ocean City for years and this is one of my favorite haunts for a good quick snack or dinner while enjoying some cold drinks while on the boardwalk. The menu and atmosphere is playful while still being PG rated enough for kids to join you.

Great portions and fast service. My wife and I split a platter of cheese fries and really enjoyed them. Waffle fries covered in cheese and we had to add the bacon. Totally worth it.

If you're staying nearby or plan to hang out in the area get the Brass Balls Glass and enjoy discounted refills on various drinks.

We stopped by tonight and were helped by one of the nicest and most attentive servers we've seen in a while, Bethanne. If you stop by say hi.

I ate at Bad Ass Cafe, which is above Brass Balls but owned by the same people. I'm not quite sure why it has a different name, but it does. They have reasonably priced food and good service. It's not worth getting anything other than an enormous burger, which is tasty and comes with delicious waffle fries. All other menu items are pretty standard so try to avoid them. Finally, make sure you sit outside so you can take in the great view of the boardwalk and beach.

A good place the morning after a night of hard drinking.  You can get some greasy breakfast and a little of the dog that bit you last night right on the boardwalk.

A tad over priced, but all in all a good experience.  Probably extremely crowded during the touristy season!

Ate at the "Bad Ass Cafe" this Labor Day weekend. I'm not a drinker, so I didn't go for the drinks that everyone seems to be raving about. We went for breakfast.....which SUCKED!

I'm not kidding. This had to be the worst breakfast ever. The omelettes tasted old, they were overcooked and DRY. My waitress got my spinach omelette order wrong and brought me an omelette full of HAM. (I don't eat pork, not sure how she screwed that up.)

Everything on the plate was HORRIBLE. Truly tasteless potatos, and a disgusting rock formation that they call a "bodacious biscuit". It was disgusting.

Maybe their lunch or dinner menu was better, I don't know. After the experience I had with breakfast, I wasn't trying to find out! Other than a great ocean view, I don't see what the hype is over this place.

Drinks were great as was the food. I highly suggest the grapefruit crush and the crabcake sandwich.  We ate there 5 times during our recent week at the beach.  I didn't get to have a bodacious biscuit, but I'll take care of that on my next trip.

Alicia sold me on this joint. I have been going to Ocean City for years, many of those years I was underage. This summer my Mom and I decided to go back for a few days. I love me a mimosa and a killer brekkie.

Brass Balls is home of the Bodacious Biscuits and have a sign stating the best breakfast in ocean city. Many restaurants have the same sign. Brass Balls is the only one who can truly hang the sign.

Mom had her usual egg over easy, ham and biscuit. The ham was lovely. Thinly sliced, perfectly cooked. The egg was probably better than any egg I have cooked her. The biscuits are easily the size of a small childs head. easily. They are slightly sweet. Which I like. They are delish with butter and strawberry jam. Also they served it with home fries that were so deliciously seasoned. We could not figure out the seasonings but delish none the less.

I had a yummy concoction called Breakfast Skins. Imagine potato skins with scrambled eggs. Perfect breakfast.

I had to wait until 9am for my mimosa, but it was worth the wait.

Our waitress Anna from Latvia was a doll. She was even telling us about the other restaurant she works at and other yummy eats!

Two breakfasts and a mimosa for twenty bucks!! You can't beat it!

p.s they have a few parking spots in the back...drive down the street behind the boardwalk and turn where you see the signs for brass balls/hooties/bad ass cafe....the parking spots are marked!

They have carafes of mimosas for $14, an entire menu dedicated to alcoholic drinks made with ice cream, and "bodacious biscuits" the size of turtles.  If you feel that is insufficient information to make you want to come here then clearly you're not in my target audience.

As soon as we biked by Brass Balls Saloon on the way down the boardwalk, i knew it was my kind of place.  I dont know if it was the sign saying "Best breakfast in Ocean City" or the giant umbrellas advertising booze so i knew i could get a mimosa for breakfast! I anxiously waited for our return trip and to come back to it.

I love that there are two menus... one for brunch and one for booze!  Yes!  We opted to get the carafe of mimosas since she said that would be a better deal.   Then, when our carafe was not boozy enough, she got more booze!  Best waitress ever!  She had no problem when it started to rain and we needed to relocate.

And then the food.  I got veggie omelet, complete with hashbrowns and one of their GIGANTIC biscuits.  It was huge!  But i think it was also pretty darn awesome.  I liked that it was kinda sweet.  I didn't finish my whole meal, but i definitely finished that buscuit!

Overall i would definitely not be opposed to returning here for brunch... even if its just buscuits and mimosas!

Maybe it's because I'm a city dweller, but I was marveled by the prices of everything for the duration of our weekend at the beach. It was so cheap! I mean, $14 for a carafe of mimosas? That's pretty amazing. And what was even more amazing was the fact that our server thought it wasn't boozy enough so she had the bartender add more champagne! (She was right though, there was NO FIZZ in my cup after it was poured.)

For our cheap breakfast, we had biscuits and gravy, breakfast pizza, veggie omelette, scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon was perfectly crisp and the eggs were tasty

The biscuits were huge. Like ridiculously large. Like you should probably share one and not eat one by yourself. No joking. They were also slightly sweet which was alright but I prefer them to be more savory and buttery.

The employees here are very pleasant. They watched our bikes near the host stand and they let us move to a table under an umbrella when it started to sprinkle with rain. And our server gave us more champagne.

If you're looking for an outdoor breakfast/brunch, you should eat here at Brass Balls; a reliable spot to meet your egg and bacon needs, I say.
