Great food for such a little place. I had he Cajun tilapia sandwich with fries and the fish was a bit over seasoned but that's about it. They have a HUGE menu for such a small place. I will go back again to try out something else

Walked in with my girlfriend and 1yr old daughter. Was not greeted AT ALL. Come on! That is restaurant 101. They even say "welcome" at McDonalds.  If they were packed, I would have more sympathy but, we were the ONLY customers there. There is something that resembles a host station and no menu board behind the register. We stood awkwardly staring at the cashier for a few moments before I had to ask "do we just sit anywhere?" Her reply is "yea." Not in a rude way but, at this point I would figure she would offer a tad bit of assistance. I'm carrying my baby looking around for a high chair......no assistance from staff or even a "hey, high chairs are over there." We grab a seat and wait.........and wait........and wait.........STILL THE ONLY CUSTOMERS in the place. I get up and go to the cashier girl who has been doing nothing but, leaning behind the counter the entire time. I ask if there are menus. She points and replies " there."  Been in the place for quite some time now, have had 2 words spoken to me and still don't know if we will have a server or not. I browse the menu but, at this point I'm already fed up. Lost my business. We got up, left and went to a "mom and pop" diner down the street and had a 5 star experience. The items and place looked intriguing but the staff killed any hope I had. I wish I didn't even have to give Bread Basket a single star. My apologies to the owner because your staff on duty that day is horrible.

Mmmm, okay I'm a regular here. It's right around my corner, we all have a place like that, right?

I've tried different sandwiches, soups, salads, etc.,  and they're all very good at reasonable prices too. Yes I know, their coffee machine never works, and they never have things for the smoothies and shakes.

But their Chicken Caesar Wrap! Ahhhhhh so so tasy. I wish I could eat it every day. Seriously though, try it sometime, and you won't regret it.

    :)

I remember the first time I walked into this place, the first thing I noticed was the warm & inviting decor: flowers on the table, warm colors, friendly service.  At the start of the line there's a chalkboard with the daily specials & soups of the day.  Really the reason I love this place is because of the huge portions.

Some of my favorites here include the chopped salad (although if you're getting it delivered make sure to ask for the chicken on the side unless you enjoy soggy salad) as well as any of their soups or sandwiches.  I particularly like the triple decker club.  I've had some of the pastas which are decent if you're craving pasta, but can be a little on the unseasoned side sometimes.  Pizza was so-so, even if it was humogenous.  Some of my friends highly recommend the gyros plate, which can easily be turned into 2 meals.

Overall it's a clean, decent diner with consistently fresh food.

This used to be one of my favorite places for lunch--HOWEVER, something has really changed here.  Perhaps they are having financial problems or something, but the menu is different than it used to be--even though the old menu still hangs so proudly above the area where you order.  They used to offer some really great dishes and pizza by the slice, which they no longer do.  Their fries are a total disappointment, they are always so brown and yummy looking--but, they are actually, ALWAYS, really soggy and gross.  Which is a shame, as so many of their items come with fries--so you may like the sandwich, but you are stuck with the fries?  So, the other day, after not being there for a good four months, we decided to give it another try as we had been so disappointed the last time we were there--and, nothing has changed, we were still disappointed.  I had the chopped salad--they should just call this chopped lettuce as there was very little bacon, I had to really dig to find a small little piece of blue cheese--the dressing was awesome, but had to ask for more.  The roast beef sandwich which my sidekick had was really good--but, then you had to be stuck with the soggy fries.  So, really, as much as I have tried to really getting back to liking this place, I, more than likely will never go in again.  They also used to have very friendly staff at the counter--the other day, not so much--anyway, a real disappointment.  So, why the three stars you ask?  Well, the dressing was really good for the chopped salad and the sandwich was really good.  And, some of that third star may just be some old loyalty from when I used to LOVE this place.  Would I recommend--NO.

This place fills a nice niche in my book.  All the comfort foods you could hope for - pizza, burgers, sandwiches, bread, desserts, salads, etc - but with an atmosphere that rises above greasy spoon diner.  I appreciated the attention to detail and the fact that the food was made to order.  Not quite as cheap, but worth a little extra for what you get.  Still a good value.

This place is great. Food is excellent, prices are good. I love this place. The only draw back, is they are slow in taking your order, and getting your food out.

I love this place! It's three blocks from my house, I go there about once a week and I have yet to experience a bad day there. I love the price that you get for the portions (which are generous). They are well rounded with almost everything. Their Chicken Caesar salad is uhh-mazing!

I really like their pastas, sandwiches and soups. Everything tastes really fresh, and like it was made at home from scratch. As a bonus they have a small free parking lot!

The only complaint I would have is that I ordered my salad for delivery one day and it took quite a while but then again, it was a friday evening. It is not as bad as everyone makes it seem. It's a cozy little neighborhood place, not a pricey downtown bakery shop. They have a little of everything, with a friendly atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

I came in here expecting a lot more than I got. Still, the food was good. Nothing special. I had a cheeseburger with fries, and a drink, which ended up being around eight dollars. The food is mildly over-priced for what you get. A lot of fries, a decent burger, should've been more around six dollars. The dining area was nice, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I just wish there was more of a passion to their work.

Given the fact that there aren't many "healthy" food options around this neck of the woods, this place is A-Okay. I've been here a couple of times, and have been pretty underwhelmed and unimpressed with the quality of food and service. Just because it's take out, it doesn't mean that I wouldn't want to start sipping on my drinking while I wait for my food, as I could be pretty hungry or thirsty as hell. The fries are pretty gross - soggy and greasy, just because they're fresh it doesn't mean that they're any good, I'd rather have over processed fries from Burger King at any given day than taste these "fresh" soggy greasy ass fries, ever heard of the term Crispy and savory? All the food was soggy reallly, specially that awfully dark green, old looking lettuce in my burger. I was also expecting more bacon on my double bacon and cheddar burger, nevertheless the meat was actually pretty good and medium-well, the way I like it. This has become a last resort place to get food, if I had more time on my hands, I'd go the extra mile, west on Belmont and get a few steak tacos from Taco Burrito King instead, and I'd probably spend less money and the food will be delicious.

Finding a remotely healthy food option in this neighborhood is a valiant quest, only for the brave. I'm not sure why, but I decided to give Bread Basket another chance. Luckily, they've improved upon their formerly poor form.

I tend to stick to the salads seeing as they require a less precise attention to cooking detail and I've yet to be punished. They have a few decent combos that have satisfied my need for the green.

We have lived in the area for over a year and today was the first time we made it into this place. We were a little apprehensive because we were kind of in the mood for something that would clog our arteries and this placed looked like a healthy cold sandwich shop. Turns out it has  plenty of items that will drive your cholesterol up pretty good.  I had a burger and it was seasoned pretty well. It also has a ton of different options. If you live in walking distance definitely give this place a try.

We have been by this restaurant at least 20 times and have said often enough, "we should try that place", well today we finally did. We were not disappointed at all. Fresh, not frozen french fries, chicken breast that was not pre-frozen, a juicy burger that was cooked decently, and fresh buns, that were not old. The girls behind the counter were super friendly, and extremely accommodating when we needed something extra. We will definitely be back when we are in the neighborhood, because their menu looked great.

The food is ok. I think it's great that they brought a place like this into the area. My only complaint is that the food takes forever to come out. At least it did when I went my 3 times. Even when I ordered in advance, I'd have to wait another 20 minutes for the food. Like I said, good food, just slow service. Their salads are actually what I go for.

My husband and I were driving, when seriously had to stop and turn around because this place we passed smelled so good!
We stopped in and as if we hadn't eatten in weeks ordered our meal. Low cost, great portions, and great food!
Today is my second time stopping in and it was as great as the first time!

So far I've been pleased with the quality of food served here. I enjoy the comfort food as well as ambiance. I like that it's relaxed and quiet but also friendly and cool. It is close to where I have just moved and usually go there to get food and also unwind and be alone. I'm actually vegetarian/ vegan and still go there even though they don't serve much vegetarian food. Veggie burger and a few other things. But I like it enough anyway.

Excllent food and cheap! I ordered the chicken pesto penne. The plate was HUGE and only $6.50 or so. The pasta was good and the manager working the counter was funny and personable. Looking at all the tables around me, I could see that everyone had a giant amount of food, and at an extremely reasonable price, too! This restaurant stands out more than any other business in the neighborhood and I'm so glad it caught my eye. Definitely going back if I'm nearby again.

I'm giving this place 3 stars because of its incredible potential, though it would deserve less than that based on the service we received this past weekend. Overall, the prices were very reasonable, but it seemed like they were easily overwhelmed by our party of 7 and our orders. Anyone who lives in this neighborhood should definitely check it out as the food was good and cheap. I wouldn't recommend traveling too far to go here though, especially because it's not a full-service restaurant (you order the food and pay at the counter, and they bring it to your table).

Either way, it looks great, and once they get their service down, they'll be doing well.

This place has been intriguing me for a while now. I passed it by every day for a while and every time I passed it by, I made a comment on having to stop in there. I finally got my chance. Initially i was expecting it to be a Panera or a Corner Bakery ripoff. Fortunately it was not.

The place is no more than a short order place. However the place was very open, bright, clean and in good condition. It is not even close to being a typical short order atmosphere. I arrived right at the end of breakfast so i just went with some eggs and bacon. Everything was cooked just fine, tasted just fine, and was hot and fresh. The the staff here was really friendly too.

It is great to know that this place exists nearly walking distance from my home!

The food is very good and the place is usually pretty clean. Prices are very reasonable. However, the service does suck and the ppl at the counter are usually rude. If you get take out make sure your order is correct before you leave.

Their aren't many dining options in the area, let alone many that look shiny and new. I imagine it's some sort of chain that i'm unfamiliar with. The menu isn't what I was expecting (bread basket made me assume they would have some baked goodies, sandwiches, etc) but they had a lot of different options.
I went for the chicken Philly and it was pretty good with tons of flavorful chicken. I also dig the fries but their was nothing extraordinary about them.
The place is clean and inexpensive, service is almost painfully slow sometimes but for fast casual eats, this place fits the bill.

I had a chicken sandwich with fries here last summer.  It was delicious and the portion of fries was more than generous.  I'll return.

I walked in to an almost empty place and ordered an Italian Beef and a Chicken Wrap.

The register girl was not properly trained and it really showed.

    When I got home...

    The Italian Beef was :

    1) lacking meat - think of 2 thin deli slices in a big piece of french bread

    2) not dipped as requested

    3) cold

    The Chicken Wrap was :

    1) dry

    2) bland

    3) lacking meat - yes, there is a trend

I called the manager and complained.

He told me that he would remember my name the next time that I came in and "make it right."

And that was the extent of his apology.

I hung up and concluded that this business is run by a bunch of GED educated chimps.

    You have been warned.

Human hair baked into my food=  nasty.

These people are total amateurs and the only reason their restaurant is still open is because there is not a lot of other places to eat in the neighborhood.

Unprofessional, dirty, mess up every order, and terrible customer service.  My previous review has changed due to hair in my food and every time I go here, they manage to mess up my order.  At least they are consistent though, they will truly mess up every order.  They are not polite, take way too long to make food, even simple things like salad.  I waited for 30 minutes on a "to-go" order.

They need to hire someone that can operate that computer screen and take an order properly.  One of the times I was standing there waiting for my to-go order that I had phoned in, it was sitting there in a bag the whole time but she didn't notice it for 5 minutes, these girls at the counter can't work efficiently.

I go in the other day and don't have 30 minutes to wait, so I order a slice of cheese pizza w/ side salad.  They forgot the fork, even though it was a to-go order...  I'm eating the pizza, which sucked by the way, when I notice a 3  inch long HAIR baked into the crust.  I know it is not mine as I don't have black hair.  I had noticed before that the woman working in the back making some of the food, who has shoulder-length hair, had it completely loose.

I wish they would get it together and learn how to take an order and serve the food.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place.  It had decent vegetarian options, which I was very happy to find, a private parking lot (which is pretty much non-existent anywhere in the city, especially busy Belmont), good food (that seemed fairly fresh), free refills (woot!) and good prices.  Pretty freakin' awesome! I will definitely return and enjoy some good cheap grub...definitely trumps stopping by some random McDonald's that'll make you sick to your stomach as soon as you pop the last fry in your mouth.

You must stop here at least once.  They use quality ingredients and nearly everything is prepared fresh and made to order.  I'd give it 5 stars, but I could not find a good enough reason for perfection, but it's darn near close to it.  Forgo the fast food joints and eat something quality from here.  The service is also fast and the staff are extremely courteous.  Bread Basket is definitely a diamond in the rough in terms of location, but well worth the stop.

I happen to pass them by while looking for something to eat at lunch time.

I had the double cheeseburger special.  The burger was good. The toppings were fresh. The burger was juicy even though it was cooked a little longer (safe cooking thing) than I like. I think next time I would have them slice the burger in half to make it easier to eat.

The fries were pretty good. Maybe a little salty, but that's just me. I'm not a big salt fan.

The service was pretty quick. Even though the place had a fast food feel and look, the food was served on real plates, not plastic or cartons.

The people were very nice and friendly. The location was very clean.

I will return again, if I'm in the area.
