I had a group on coupon and tried this place for the first time, had the chili, the bronco burger, and fries.  Everything was great!! The waitress was excellent!! Loved her :)  My nephew had a hang over and she took great care of him.  She was so friendly and attentive.   I felt like a regular and I had never been there before!

I am a bit of a regular here. But for a good reason. The staff is always on point, it is always pretty busy, but never to crowded to get a drink. The people who hang out here range from 21 to 71 and it is always welcoming and fun. I don't often eat here, however, the hotdogs are amazing! Big dog, grilled and a toasted bun. Not to mention the fries are always perfect.  Good stop to have a beer and a good time!

The Brickhouse does neighborhood bar right.  The bartenders are friendly as are the regulars who drink here.  Most of the time I'm there Steve is bartending.  He's an attentive, friendly guy who is working hard all the time.  The beer selection is good for a place that is not trying to be a beer bar.  I'm particularly happy to find Snake Dog IPA on tap.

As others have noted there are plenty of TVs which is good if you want to watch a game and perhaps a bit distracting if you just want to talk with friends.  There are a couple of pool tables if you want to shoot some pool.  The deck allows for outdoor seating with a view of the parking lot.  Should you prefer to smoke and drink at the same time you have the option.  There is bar seating and a few tables and booths. by no means is this a big place.

The food is limited with the kitchen and menu both being very small.  It seems to me the approach is to do a few menu items and to do them all very well.   I'm particularly impressed by the burgers they serve.  I'd put them side by side with a burger from Plan B, Goldburger, or Prime 16 any day.  They only make 3-4 different burgers, but the buns are excellent fresh bread, the beef is juicy, flavorful, and cooked correctly to whatever temperature you ask for, with fresh tasty toppings.  The wings are also done well.

The place has a slight identity issue with Finn McCool signs hanging around.  The bathrooms aren't great but they aren't gross and have definite signs of regular cleaning.  The jukebox might come on loud enough to drown out your conversation, but I'm betting that if you said something it would be adjusted without hesitation.

    Overall a very good bar.

Four stars for excellent customer service!

I was accidentally charged for someone else's bill but didn't realize until I was home, far away in New York. The owner and his staff were absolutely pleasant each time we spoke on the phone. He was very apologetic from the get-go, even before he confirmed the inaccuracy of the charge on his end. I was mailed a check, and all is well. Honesty and kindness go a long way in my book.

And while we're at it, four stars for a great time! We usually always stop here when we're back home in CT for major holidays. The beers and liquor drinks are reasonably priced, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is laid back. I've never had the food, but standard bar fare is offered.

    A solid business all around.

More stars are being awarded here for the venue than the grub, though that's not to say that the grub was bad... It was pretty good, but it was typical B- bar food, nothing to particularly write home about. Furthermore, the menu is a bit small, leaving you with but a few selections of sandwiches and appetizers.

But I still liked the Brickhouse a lot... In a word: TELEVISIONS. Lots of them. All over the place. With good viewing angles. And with actual HD singals going to all of them! There are bars with more televisions for sure, but given the relatively small size of this place, I'd say it has more televisions per capita than most all bars I've seen.

So, for those who might ordinarily hate going to a bar to "watch the game," you might want to give The Brickhouse a shot... it can only get so crowded, ergo so loud, before you can't concentrate anymore :).

I preface this by saying, I'm a local and try to get to the Brickhouse every week. We're close with one of the bartenders which makes the experience exponentially better.

That being said, it's still a good place to go, get some good eats, especially the wings, watch some games, whether it be football on Sunday or baseball during the summer or basketball in the winter and spring, they've got the sporting environment. They've also got pool tables that add to the atmosphere.

It's a nice place, comfortable, never too crowded and unless you live in the area, you probably won't go, but it's a good place to go with a group of friends and just hang out without the craziness of the "more popular bars."

Cheap prices and outdoor seating for the warmer weather - no complaints here.

Been meaning to go to this place ever since I turned 21. It's probably the closest bar to my family's house and is smack dab in the center of Newington. I have also done numerous 911 calls here when I was an EMT for the town and was always pretty impressed with the layout.

Judging from my other reviews, one would assume that I gravitate towards a hoppin' scene only. While I love to be at a place where there are a lot of people having a good time, I can also enjoy a more laid back atmosphere. At least last night, that is what Brickhouse offered. We got there around 10 (it was a Tuesday) and there was a crowd around the bar. I don't know if we scared people away, but we took over the jukebox and started playing pool...soon most people disappeared. Again, Tuesday.  The bartender was super friendly and so were some of the patrons. All in all, cool place.

Nice and clean. Normal prices. I think we're gonna try to become regulars and use it as a place to pregame or just have a chill night.
