Brickhouse is one of those places that isn't my first choice but I don't usually regret it after. Definitely a good place to watch a game or grab a few drinks. Not recommended if you want to have an actual conversation with people. SO NOISY (at night).
Their homemade chips are fantastic, that's for sure. Salads are pretty good too. Steer clear of their tuna. Not great. Service is decent considering how busy it can get.
They usually have a good selection of draft beers, including some really great seasonals.
Definitely a Sports bar more than anything else.
Very nice interior, atmosphere is a stylish sports bar, with plenty of T.V.'s, including a large projection screen on the back wall, which would be nice for big games.
The beer selection is what you'd expect anywhere in Springfield: your standard crap domestics with the awful stout offering in Guinness, Woodchuck, Newcastle, and then 1-2 quality craft taps, them being Sierra Nevada Pale Ale & Boulevard's Fat Tire here. Both good, sessionable beers. In this day and age, craft beer is exploding, and more places, even around here, should be taking advantage of this. If you have it, they will come.
The food, for the most part, is good. The burgers are quality, as are the wraps that I've seen other people get. The fries, as mentioned, are of the typical frozen variety. The dinnerware is of a nice quality too. Nothing to write home about, but definitely above average bar food to accompany a few beers if you were watching a game.
The one glaring aspect here is the service. It's hit and miss, and when it's a miss, it's a strike-out. Lots of young girls here who really don't comprehend the basics of serving in a bar. Rule #1: never let the glass sit empty. When you have to flag your server down just to get another because it's sat empty 5 min, that's a problem.
I had asked if they had any stouts, and the waitress asked what a stout was. When I have to explain what it it, that's an issue. Simple beer education will go a long way. Knowledge is power!
Overall, one of the better sports bars in town, but it isn't great, at least for me. The sleek atmosphere is a 5/5, and probably why I would return.
So many TVs!!!! A great place to watch any football game. Our food was tasty and quick. It even got a "really good" out of my hard to please husband! The beer was the cheapest we encountered in Springfield. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The biggest plus: Being practically the only place open on a Sunday afternoon!
Review Source:Great place to watch the game. They have a ton of screens so you can see the game wherever you sit.
The horseshoe IMO isn't the best in town but still tasty. Strange thing is salads come served on a rectangular plate which presentation wise looks very pretty but makes it difficult to mix all the goodies together and eat it
Service was fast and friendly And they had good draft beer specials. I don't think it's intended on being a good place for dancing but the staff will tolerate you dancing to Gangam styl.
This place truly reminds me of Hooters. Â Lots of big screens, beer and sporting good paraphernalia on the walls, and, oh, my waitresses with questionable IQ levels. Â If you're vegan or vegetarian, it could be deceiving going here because they have Blackbean burgers and Mushroom burgers and tote a healthful side of the menu. Â But, everytine I order something, I'm usually disappointed because the taste is significantly lacking. Â It's a good place if you desperate to put something in your belly, but if you want a good veggie meal it's best to skip it.
Review Source:First drink my coworker was served had an obscene amount of dirt around the rim of his glass. Â Sent back and received clean glass. Â My second drink had a housefly floating on top. Â Sent it back and the waitress said the next drinks were on the house. Â My replacement drink arrived with another but different housefly floating at the top. Â Seriously? Â Ask for the bill immediately, and noticed that no drinks nor food were comp'ed. Â Not even the free drinks that were promised. Â Asked waitress for a discount who complied and came back saying the manager took off one drink. Â Speechless.
Food was decent, but not great.
So on an overnight here in Springfield (I'm a flight attendant) my FO and I were looking for somewhere to eat. Â We stumbled upon this place on yelp and decided to give this place a shot! Â The vibe of this place was pretty cool but we did get a few looks from the locals (you know ....these folks aint from around here look lol). Â Anyways our server was very friendly and attentive...plus our food was great! Â Next time in Springfield I will be back!
Review Source:So I'm going to try something new, I'm not going to look at other reviews before I review this one. I normally find places based on reviews but this place I walked into randomly for dinner and drinks.
Overall I think this place was pretty cool. If it were an option I would have given this place 3 1/2 stars, but i can't so I'm rounding up a little. It deserved 4 stars over 3 stars. The servers were super friendly, which is always important to me. The place seemed really new. Tons of TVs to watch the games. Good beer selection and if beer isn't your thing, they have a full bar with a long list of specialty cocktails.
The menu was a little boring but it did cover all the basics. My guest ordered the chicken salad wrap, which was awesome. We also got the Brat Bites which were also awesome. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich.... not so good. Normally you would see a breaded chicken breast with sauce giving an orangeish glow, not the case. My sandwich was burn to a nice black char. I'm shocked they let this come out of the kitchen. I don't mind this sort of thing well done but this was over done. It still wasn't horrible though and I probably could have sent it back but I didn't think it warranted sending it back. I ate most of it and it was still alright. I think this has to do with the place ironing out some details.
All in all, the place was good and I would go back. Too bad my sandwich was over done or I woulda really liked this place.
Fun crowd. Lots of sporting events on the TVs. Â Good beer list (although they were out of a lot of the ones I requested). Pretty extensive bar food menu and the burger and fries I had were decent. All in all, great place to relax and decompress after a long day of work - especially if you're a lobbyist!
Review Source:I agree with Jeff C.! I recently moved to Springfield and when I called the Brickhouse, they humored me and reassured me that 1) yes, they do have wifi, and 2) no, it wouldn't be weird if I brought my laptop and ate/worked for a few hours.
Becky was also my server and she recommended the Kobe Burger. Very good! Nothing special, but good. And instead of fries, I got it with the soup of the day (French Onion) at no extra charge. Awesome.
The wifi worked great, the bar was big enough that I had a booth to myself and wasn't bothered by weirdos, and I felt totally comfortable eating, relaxing, and working. Too bad Brickhouse closed early (it was a Thursday night), otherwise I would have stayed there until 1am!
Overall, great bar which I plan to frequent for decent food, wifi, and space to work in the evenings.
I really liked this place. Â It has a great feel and would be a great place to watch a game.
Becky F. was our server and she was awesome. Â I got the Best Burger in the World and it was good, but that is a big statement, even for a kobe beef burger. Â It was good though!
Springfield is a sleepy place. Â Where is everyone?? Â Whatever, this place is a nice retreat.
Stopped in here for a nice lunch after touring the town. Â Sports bar atmosphere with a ton of TV's and a good selection of entrees.
Had to try a "horseshoe" while in Springfield (texas toast bread topped with burgers, topped with fries, topped with cheese sauce). Â They offer different meats and even a veggie option. Â Good selection of beers. Â OK for families also.
I love Brickhouse and am so glad it came to downtown Springfield. One of the worst things about downtown Springfield is that very few bars serve food and Brickhouse not only serves food, but it serves good food.
I have tried a bunch of different things on the menu and some of my favorites have been the homemade potato chips and the sliders. I will say that I did not enjoy the boneless buffalo wings, something was definitely missing there. The drinks are affordable and they have a good selection of draft beers.
All in all Brickhouse is a great addition to downtown Springfield and I'd recommend it as a great place to grab dinner and drinks after work or to just hang out at.
