This was the 2nd time I went to brunch. the first time I went was right when they opened. The food the first time was awful and so was the service. What was nice is that the manager came over and because of the problems (2 hours for breakfast) that he picked up the bill. We decided to go back and give it another shot( mainly because it is right next door to my house) Well this time was worse than the first. We ordered the Loaded Potatoes for the table and 5 minutes later a bowl of breakfast potatoes was brought out( not loaded brunch potatoes) I ordered lox and a bagel with a side of chicken sausage. When the food came out the bagel which was supposedly toasted was cold and soggy. My chicken sausage was also ice cold. I sent back the bagel and the sausage. I will give the server a break because she was brand new but my friend asked 4 times for ice water and it wasnt until the 5th time that it was brought over.
Lastly, our bill was $60 for 3 people for breakfast. Little steep if you ask me.
All and all this place is not one that i would ever go back to. If i am going to spend $20 a person on breakfast I will go to one of the many great brunch spots in Chicago. Very sad because the space is great and right next to my house.
This was my second time visiting Brunch as my first time wasn't as I'd hoped and I wanted to be fair and give them a second try.... hey, everyone body has "off" days so it wouldn't be fair to leave it at that.
I went back yesterday with two friends (new to Brunch) and it was great! Clearly they've don'e a lot of work to turn this place around and it shows! Our server, Ryan, was superb, as was the gentleman who served us after him. Lots of smiles, wonderful food, great atmosphere. I love the high ceilings, makes the place more relaxed.
The food was simple, fresh and delicious. I got a "Build your own" omelet and it was great, served with potatoes and I substituted fresh fruit for the English Muffin. The fruit was excellent! I also noticed they have some unique sweet breakfast items on their menu which looked delicious, as well as a mini-pancake sampler! We didn't partake because we are all runners and planned a run later in the day, but it sure looked good!
Service was prompt, pleasant, patient and appropriate! My coffee-cup never went below half and I didn't have to ask for anything extra!
I very much enjoyed my ding experience with Brunch and as a close-by resident I look very much forward to going back again and again!
**Weekday visits are VASTLY different than weekEND visits for obvious reasons. Expect a full-house on weekends, which is a good sign, but be prepared. THAT is why I work weekends, so I can enjoy the quieter side of weekDAY dining!**
Went here with a friend for lunch, not brunch, but it was delicious! Â
The decor is very cool, block wood and industrial, but still welcoming and warm. Â
The food was great - their selections are focused more on health conscious options, which is appreciated, but they still have indulgences too!
I will definitely be back - this is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
