Zocalo Restaurant & Tequila Bar

Pretty good. High end Mexican food in River North. Has a great drink selection.

Came back to Zocalo a few years later and it's still delicious.

It's pretty rowdy on Saturday nights but you are always able to make a reservation.

They do offer trio salsa for $4 so we made sure to ask ahead of time!

I ordered the Tinga Poblano this time around and literally finished every bite. It was fantastic. There was some sort of pepper/beef ratatouille that lay beneath the chicken and I could have eaten 4 portions of it! Chicken was not dry and perfectly seasoned as it should be.

I really really liked Zocalo! You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and the decor is so authentic with a nice ambiance.  I brought my parents here for their anniversary and we had a really good experience.  All the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive.  We had great drinks and food, and the price was totally reasonable for downtown/River North.  I would definitely go back!
