I went with the chef's recommendation of Spencer's chicken wrap. Â The things worth noting: Â Great Flavors, Small Wrap. Â I should have ordered two of them ( and I'm not the type of guy to "super size" a meal).
Would I go back? Â Sure, but having to get two wraps makes it an expensive lunch so I won't be running to Clinton Street any time soon.
I don't get it. I ordered the chicken tikka bowl (equivalent to Chipotle's burrito bowl) and it just wasn't that good.
First, it was overpriced - the bowl was loaded up with rice - and not high-quality basmati rice, either. Overall, it was over 50% rice.
Second, there wasn't much flavor. When I heard "Indian food" and "chicken tikka," I was expecting succulent, juicy chicken in a rich sauce. Instead, it was very dry, with no sauce. I got to pick my own sauce, but the traditional chicken tikka masala sauce was not one of the options!
Finally, Sataza is trying to do what many others have done before, but it is not succeeding. Chipotle is clearly way better, but so is Tzatziki grill (Greek Chipotle), Falafill (Middle Eastern Chipotle) and Roti (Mediterranean Chipotle). I would skip Sataza until a new restaurant that is actually worthy of the "Indian Chipotle" label comes along.
A clean and friendly Chipotle style Indian restaurant. Yes, you order at the counter through a few steps to get the food. It is better to read their menu online or pick a slow time to ask the questions.
This was my first time seeing steak on the menu in an Indian restaurant. Really?! And no curry choice or lamb or goat. This is a modern Indian place for sure.
Well, I was pretty happy that I found Paneer on the menu which is one of my favorite Indian dishes. It was wrapped with a nice flat bread and some fresh veggies, then warmed in kind of panini grill thing. I really liked it. The red chilly sauce was not spicy enough but mango one was excellent.
Veggie samosas were pretty good. The wrapper was not too thick and the fillings didn't have too much potato and had a very nice spiciness.
Yes, I will go back for the healthy salad next time with more samosas. I will find somewhere else to fix my curry crave around the west loop.
