I organized a happy hour for around 30 people and reserved the area to the right when you first walk in.  That worked out perfectly!  We had plenty of room to eat, drink and mingle!  I requested that Drusilla and Daisy wait on us because they have served us before and have given us impeccable service.  As usual, they ROCKED!  It can't be easy to do separate checks and serve people for hours, and do it so efficiently!!  They also engaged with our group really well. Thanks again Drusilla and Daisy!  It's hard to find a venue in this area that can accommodate a large group and give such great service, so thank you Bungalows!!

My co-workers and I loved coming to this place for lunch and service was superb. As soon as management changed, we noticed because the service is now very poor. We have waited for over an hour for our food several times.  Bottom line, we no longer go here for lunch...it takes too much of our time. They should know that most people only get an hour lunch break.  It took so long to get our food last time the waitress asked us if we were ready for the check....WE DIDN'T EVEN GET OUR FOOD YET! Just horrible...SMH.

Not a fan of the food here.  Nothing has ever wowed me.  Decent bar area, service was not impressive.

I've been a patron of both the Shirlington Bungalow and now the Springfield Bungalow for years.  While the prices are outrageous, and the food is just whatever, I keep coming back.  But after tonight I think I'm done.

We came out to watch the rest of the football games.  We had a few drinks, shot some pool, and then tried to call a cab home.  They put multiple calls in, and the cab never came.  I don't blame them for that.  That's on the cabs.   What I do blame them for is denying me a beer when I came back in to get warm and have a drink while I was waiting.  My friend and I both took a seat and had a quiet conversation at the bar.  The bartender came and he attempted to order us both a beer.  The bartender said she couldn't serve me because "me eyes looked drunk".  That was her justification for refusing to serve me.

Several patrons seated around me were shocked.  One gentleman tried to order a drink on my behalf, but I told him not to get himself in any trouble.  Yes, despite having drunken crazy eyes according to the bartender, I still had the wherewithal to keep someone else from getting into any trouble.

I complained to the manager in a very polite manner.  I asked him if I seemed too drunk for another beer.  He said "No" but said he was leaving it to his bartender's discretion.

In conclusion, while waiting for a cab (that never came) I was denied a beer for no very good reason.

Save your money.  This place is a rip off.  A few beers and an hour or 2 on the pool table will set you back $80.  The managers and bartenders are horrible.  I only wish the Kingstowne area had a decent substitute to this place.

Went for happy hour last Friday - the parking lot was really crowded. We sat in the back near the darts. Our table ordered wings, fried pickles (dill frickles), and potato wedges. I did not try the wings, but everyone else enjoyed them. The dill frickles and the potato wedges were tasty. I had wanted to order the nachos, but the group said they are only good if you are drunk. ;)

I went here last night for a date and after being neglected at two bars, we finally sat at a booth where our waitress was wonderful.   the jumbo wings were delicious as always and I'm sure that we will be back.

Didn't think much of the ambiance, but I guess there isn't a ton of competition in Shirlington. But I will say, their potato skins were really good. And the waitstaff was pretty friendly, too.

I used to come here often and its a very chill place to hang out. They have some pool tables to challenge a friend to some pool. They also have dart boards, which are my personal favorites there. My friends and I play drinking games with them :). The crowd is very diverse and I don't recall ever having trouble with the service. There are booths and tables to sit at the they also have another section towards the front of Bungalows with a seperate bar. This place gets crowded quick but I love their shrimp with Obay seasoning and cheese fries so I never mind and of course my friends love coming here. I will be back again.

I only rate this place three stars because there are better places around it, but I would go to this place for beer, darts and pool. Otherwise the food is not on par compared to the other restaurants/bars in the area.

Hands down BEST happy hour spot in the area. The bartenders are always very attentive and there always seems to be a decent crowd. Food is pretty good and they have a good selection especially with appetizers. Even though the prices are constantly changing, they are decent.

I do have an issue with their CONSTANTLY changing menu and policies. I get that restaurants need to change often in order to survive but every time we go in it's as if there is a new staff or change in prices or change in theme night.
Also, they have (or had) a music jukebox that you would put your money in and it would never play your song. It seems they were flipping from a radio system to the jukebox but it wasn't always working properly.
Then for pool one day you have to go up to the front and then the next you just get a table. It's really confusing.

I'd been here before for work happy hours over the years, so when boyfriend wanted some wings, I figured it would be right up his alley. I was right.

Bar service was excellent - there's something to be said about bartenders introducing themselves and asking your name that makes you feel at home. Lots of beers on tap, but most of them are nothing special. The wings were really good, and cooked well, although next time we'll remember to ask for them extra crispy. The fried pickles were also quite tasty. And the dressings they came with were awesome - apparently they make them in house.

The turkey melt was a little disappointing - lunch meat and some cheese, possibly microwaved, and on a wheat bun. It tasted good, I ate it, but it wasn't the cheesy goodness I expected when I ordered a turkey melt. Boyfriend said his chicken caesar wrap was better. Next time we'll probably just stick with the appetizers, though.

Prices aren't bad, but a little higher than they probably need to be. And the wings come in 10 or 20, nothing in between. But the atmosphere is good (divey, but clean), the service was great, and its in the neighborhood. We will definitely be back.

Had my reservations bout the place at first, but quickly warmed up to it. Has a bit of a dive bar vibe...tho sometimes that's ok. I will say, their burgers are pretty decent and their food is above average for bar fare. Only place in the immediate vicinity to play pool too...so that's nice.

Good food and a friendly wait staff. I had the Ahi Tuna sandwich and it was  good. Was pleased with my visit and will return there again.

I go on Wednesdays for the cash seafood bar.  The staff is friendly.  Decent drink selections.  It is a pretty loud place.  Quality of the crab legs is better than red lobster in my opinion, although the batch I had were a little overcooked and mushy tonight.

The best thing about this place was their chicken wings, which were delicious. They also have pool and shuffle board tables, but the waitress kind of screwed us over how much time we spent using them so it ended up being pretty expensive. Speaking of the waitress, she was terrible. The nachos we ordered arrived over an hour late, and the the napkins we requested were given to us when we had two chips left -- and we didn't even eat them that quickly. Then she made some off hand comment about how she should have brought them earlier. A joke? We weren't really sure. Either way, it was slow and inexcusable. We'll probably go somewhere else next time.

Used to be awesome, still has great potential, but the Jersey Shore crowd it draws has always sucked.  Ultimate time to go to the Bung: 1:30-3:30 weekdays because nobody else is there.

Our first experience to Bungalow's was good enough to prompt a second visit. The first visit didn't include food, but we had some delicious martinis and beer in Mason jars, while we played darts ($1 for unlimited play!). The staff was great and attentive to filling our drinks! We enjoyed playing darts and drinks with our friends, so we made a return trip.

The second visit was a bit of a different experience. First, the Mason jars were gone. This is was separated Bungalow's from being "just another pub." Apparently, new management opted to get rid of them - bad call. That was part of the experience. Then, this time we had food. They have a pretty extensive menu, which was nice. There were choices for even a picky eater like me. However, our waitress during our dinner was a bit inattentive - especially when it came to bringing our check (it's not busy there, so I'm not sure what the hold up was...). We played darts again - no line, and our drink server over there was good.

To be honest, it wasn't a bad experience our second time back. But, there's nothing, other than darts ( and without the Mason jars), that would make it stick out to me as a choice on a weekend night again.

Threw a surprise party here in November. Hard to get and stay in touch with event staff, but in the end, the party want great. Yummy food -- definitely do the chicken and shrimp skewers. Skip the fruit; I don't know what I was thinking.

Hard to mess up a rum and diet, and they don't here! Quick tip: come for brunch on Sunday. Perfect portions, plenty of TVs for any sports fan. And now, smoke free! :)

My coworkers and I come here often for lunch. Pool is free during lunch! The only small problem is the staff are slow if you decide to eat at pool table area. I recommend asking for the check once your food arrives. Overall, friendly staff and great food!

Take it from a lifelong local, this place will always be a Suburban watering hole. Nothing more, nothing less. It's like an adult Food Court at the mall with alcohol involved.

The food has always been mediocre. Expect a large drunken mob on the weekends. With Lucky's directly across lot you can only imagine what the parking lot turns into.

    This is a singles atomosphere.

Very loud, Beer selection is iffy and service is hit or miss.

Very basic, and seriously. You must be joking.

What works: the wait staff is very good although they don't know their vodkas worth a damn.  Hint: Belvedere is a *polish* vodka, not a french one. So don't tell my best bud that you think you have Belvedere only to sashay back to him and offer Grey Goose instead.

French vodka ain't Polish vodka.  But you are adorable children for trying.

Lots of billiard tables, lots of sports on big screens - but you won't really hear much of the games with the girls in their jeans shrieking over the games.  Clearly, this is the kind of place where seriously "A" girls work and "B" and "C" girls go to try and find "A" and "B" boys.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.  We watched a lot fun melodrama unfold and bet shots with each other on which guy the girls were going to leave with.

The cobb salad is really good.  I enjoyed going there to play pool but the pool check in/out lost a friends drivers lisence (or rather gave it to someone else)  The time goes  fast there, and wednesday night seafood is awesome!!!

Free pool on Sunday, and the wings are great. Please take note that if you get a margarita on the rocks, have them put it in a smaller glass or it will only tast like sour mix. Also pay attention to your tab, friend said that he was charged twice. There are plenty of hott chicks just waiting for the right guy.

I used to play pool here every week, not a bad crowd on the weekend evenings.  Great place to hang out and chill.  Food sucks, drinks are somewhat mid priced and you end up smelling like cig. afterwards...  Stopped going three for now

Just another bar in the middle of a shopping center in your typical suburbia.  Tons of space and tons of TV's for watching sports.  They have 10 billiard tables and lots of bar areas.  Food seems pretty standard, but I didn't order any.

The only gripe that I did have was that the beer tasted a skunky.  I don't think this place cleans their taps/tubing.  When I ordered my Sam Adams, Jim Koch would not have been happy.  I even tried ordering a different beer, but that was skunky too.  Trust me, I'm a beer snob.

Finally checked this place out after living near it for 2 years.  It's a lot bigger than I thought it would be.  Beer prices are decent, $3.50 for a Miller Lite I can handle. $1 Margaritas on Mondays and dollar beers on thursdays can't be beat.  They have a ton of pool tables, though the hourly rate could be better. Also excited that they have real darts in the back. I didn't try any food, nor do I think I would necessarily want to.

Worst thing about this place is just the cloud of smoke that greets you when you walk in. When you get home you just reek like crap.  Can't wait for the smoking law to go into effect. When it does, I'll be sure to frequent this bar more often.

My coworkers and I went to Bungalow in Kingstowne last night for a going away happy hour. The place was pretty crowded. It was Thursday night, so it was $1 beer night, which is a great deal for certain bottled beers. We played a few rounds of pool and ate some wings. The wings are realllllly good. I definitely recommend the wings. I'd come back on a Thursday night again. I give it 3 stars.

The food sucks, the crowd sucks, the atmosphere sucks.....wondering why I gave it four stars....because I LOVE THIS PLACE.  Beer in a mason jar is CLASSIC!  It's never really crowded and theres a seat at the bar at all times.  Unfortunately I leave Bungalow Billiards smelling and tasting (I'm guesing) like cheap beer and cigarette smoke.

BB in Kingstowne is a festering swamp of cigarette smoke 24/7.  Even when you enter around 11:30AM for lunch it hits you in the face.  Shirlington has a much nicer location and ambiance.  Service is what you would expect in a place of this calibre.  Not a bad spot and plenty of sports and fun to be had if you can get past the smoke.

FOOD:  Tasty food.  SUGGESTION:  Get it to go unless you like smelling like a honky tonk pool player.

Nite time:  This is a hook up joint/pool hall with food.  Don't go in expecting more than that.

+'s: Good location, good beer, roomy, plenty of billiards
-'s : Cigarette Smoke!!, some of the customers.  I took my now wife there for our first date and had a good time except for the intensely thick cigarette smoke.  Our clothes reeked heavily.  Surprised she went out with me again after that.  Bungalow should follow more progressive places in Alexandria and ban smoking inside.  That would allow more folks to visit and bring their families.  Make the smokers light up outside and improve possibly the environment.  They could have a winner here.  Many avoid this place because of the smoke and sometimes sketchy fellow customers.

standard bar food, billiards and darts, nothing special.  It's just one of those places, just like in the movies where you go  to run into old high school classmates.

Unless you want to smell like a 96-year-old ashtray, don't go here.  I've heard the food is good but honestly I can't stand in there more than 10 minutes before wanting to rip my lungs out of my chest.

Hop on the Metro and ride 25 minutes to DC.  It's right up the road, and it's infinitely better.

I am definitely a fan of the Bungalow. My husband and I eat here frequently - I haven't gone there yet in a bar capacity. The food has not disappointed us yet.

    What's good:
    The wraps
    The burgers
    The cobb salad
    The brunch selection
    The appetizers
    The beer-battered fries
    The sandwiches

Much better than average bar food!

    Negatives:
    1) They always have the AC at like 50 degrees. Seriously, what's up with that? I don't need to be shivering when it's 95 degrees outside. Pleasantly cool would be quite enough, thanks.
    2) For realz, turn down the music. I know, I know. Everyone loves JTims, but I don't need "Sexy Back" blasting my eardrums while I enjoy my fries.
    3) Smells like cigarette smoke.
    4) Creepy rednecks are always sitting at the bar - that's fine after five, but at noon on a Sunday? Don't you have a couch at home and beers in the fridge? Can't you catch the game somewhere else?
    5) Occasionally lackluster waiter service. I don't need to be sitting around for twenty minutes after I've eaten.

Those five negatives make me give this place four stars. Otherwise, I'd give it five for the food. YUM. A great local favorite.

    The positive:
$1.00 beers on Thursday until 8
    Great food, but relatively inexpensive
    Great atmosphere
    Pool
    Darts
    Good Music
    Television

    Negs:
    Smoking is insane
Hard to get a seat some nights (Thursday)

But great overall place to go hang out
