If you are living in the Colorado area and thing that all Mexican joints are the same, this place will make you think TWICE!!! Grrrreat food and I mean TASTY! I saw this place as a last minute pitstop to curb my hunger before taking care of business. Â The owner was very friendly upon walking in. Â The decor in the restaurant is unique and even has pictures of Pancho Villa on their wall. Â The establishment itself is quite clean (and so are the bathrooms).
I ordered the beef Machaca Burrito (pic included) while my other half ordered a Chimichanga. Â I have to say that whatever that the seasoned bell peppers and onions added to the food adds a taste that is off the chain! Â And let me not forget the sauce they put on the side for Chimichangas (and I assume for many other dishes) is just HEAVENLY. Â You will enjoy every bite of your food here. Â When I come back to Colorado, this is one place I definitely want to look up again :)
Finally stopped in...wish I hadn't. Told the guy I wanted two "cheap smothered burritos" to go. Guy charged me $14 bucks and some change for some half cooked hamburger in a flower tortilla. Wasn't impressed. Got home and took one bite. Me thinks not. I threw it in the trash. My dog wanted to eat it, but I wasn't sure it was worthy of her doggie bowl. Maybe I walked in at the wrong time. Nobody was there except a lady who told me it was her first time there too.
Review Source:I have ordered breakfast burritos from this place several times because it's super close to my work. Â The service is great and the food is fantastic. Â Just remember this is not a fast food restaurant and all the burritos are prepaired when they are ordered. Â It takes about 5-10 minutes. Â
We were working on Christmas Eve and I wanted to do a little Christmas Party that morning for my employees. Â The owners of Burro King came in to work over an hour early on Christmas Eve to prepair 26 burritos to go....with no extra charge. Â All I had to do was call them earlier that week and set it up. Â I showed up there at 7 am and they had everything ready for me. Â What kind of business goes that far out of their way for customers?
I thought I should comment after reading prior negative reviews about the customer service. Â They have always been great there and I have never had any problems.
Very solid breakfast burritos. Â At 3.25 each, you can't really go wrong. Â Their massive size, excellent chile sauce (mild or hot) and delicious tortillas make this a diet breaker about once a month.
I always go for a sausage mild burrito, but their special (bacon, sausage and ham in addition to the regular eggs, potatoes, cheese, sauce) is such a porktastic feast that I find myself stealing a bite of a friends when they order it.
The employees could not have been more polite or friendly, and calling in an order to-go is always easy, ten minutes is the longest wait I've ever been quoted (6 burritos to-go). Â They have a few tables, but most of their business is take out. Â Horchata is good, if a little sweeter than usual, but comes in a huge 32oz cup.
Just be cautious of the liquor store next door, and drivers in the parking lot brown-bagging it.
I don't know how this place can receive negative reviews. Â As far as the burritos go, this place is better than Santiago's and for $3.25 or so, you get a pretty good size burrito packed with flavor.
The majority of their breakfast burritos are made with a huge tortilla, egg, potato, chili (hot or mild - get hot), cheese, and choice of meat - steak, chorizo, bacon, corned beef hash, etc. Â The flavor is filling and powerful, I have to admit. Â My fave is the chorizo, yeah, it's greasy, but good. Â On various days your burro can be gynormous and others it's average on size, but hey, again, no complaints here. Â The taste is considerably consistent.
Service is always prompt, courteous, and since the place is the size of a 10'x10' room, yes, it's small, but you can still sit down to have a quick bite to eat or take it to go. Â They offer an assortment of american and mexican soda and other dishes as well. Â I haven't had the opportunity to try anything other than the burros, but next time I will.
Overall, for ~$3.25, I can't complain. Â It's good, the cheese is good, the chorizo is good, oh yeah.
Cheap? Check. Accessible? Check. Taste? Well, um, no. I've been here twice. First, to check it out. Second, because I was starving and I forgot about my first visit.
With burritos being a craze, I was hoping this would be a great experience. It wasn't. The number one thing that stands out is all the cheese. It's not good cheese either, which makes the eating more difficult. Second time around I ordered one burrito featuring bacon. The bacon was chewy and contained too much fat for my taste. I'm a bacon fan, but I pulled the bacon out of this one to discard.
The prices are reasonable. The wait sometimes seems long. The taste? Well, I'll remember not to return.
Waited for 10 minutes for a plain breakfast burrito, they made a steak burrito and offered to let me pay the difference. Â After refusing and asking for a refund, they were able to open the register in a couple minutes. Â Do yourself a favor and go to Gomez Burrito. Â Even with the extra drive, your time cost will be a wash.
Review Source:I stop into this place on my way home from the Home Depot on Quebec & Smith Rd. ... what a mistake. I ordered the guac-bacon Burger with fries (daily special ?) and an order of fries for my dogs. I have to say that my dogs wouldn't eat the fries as I myself couldn't ... they had way too much salt and also were covered with black pepper and chili powder. I like seasoned fries ... when I'm told that that's what they serve ... I don't like surprises when my money is being spent! The cashier / owner / cook also knew that I was buying the fries for my dogs ... so why season the product. I called and spoke with the person that took my order and told him that he has to state on the menu that the fries are seasoned. His comment was "Oh, OK sorry" no mention of replacing the order but did state " we can't give you back the money for the fries" ... now I start to eat the burger with guacamole. The amount of the guac is that of a tablespoon and the meat didn't fair well ... had a texture which I didn't trust, so my dogs ate the burger. I wasted $10.00 on a patty of cooked beef which my dogs ate and toss the remaining food ... if you dare to call it food.
I like to support the small "Ma & Pa" shops but this was a total waste of time and money, and also a call to the business as nothing was offered to fix the problem.
