Caffè RōM

Saw this in a few other places around Chicago, but this was the first one I went in. The coffee is simply exceptional. I drink strictly espresso and their is one of the best. If there are more coffee shops like this, Starbucks and their tasteless gunk will be out of business.

I work in the Prudential Center and visit RoM most days. The staff is extra friendly and they know my name.

I'm extremely partial to the Jojo (prosciutto, basil, tomato, and artichoke hearts) but anything else on the menu is also excellent. The best favor you can do yourself is to order an affogato; delicious espresso + delicious gelato = Delicious Affogato.

Two further tips: order your espresso "for here" because then you get a little cookie. Also, pay with Levelup.

My only complaint: I've found the drip coffee to be of uneven quality. Some days it's great, but some days it tastes burnt.

Caffe RoM is tucked between the Prudential/Aon pedway, so you kind of have to know where to find it to come here.  Don't let that fool you though, this place is the real deal, and no more expensive than a Starbucks or other coffee shop.  The lines are usually much shorter and the employees are much more friendly than the average Starbucks.  

They also serve sandwiches, bagles, and a few other items, though on today's visit, I just had a regular coffee.  

A much appreciated break from the norm.  I'll be visiting soon!
