Calafate Grill

Good menu.  Not great food.  Not bad, just expected more...ordered ahi tuna and grouper dishes and they were just mediocre at best...we were dining across the street from the ocean...tuna was a bit dry. Service was a little slow and they messed up our drink refills...had water and coke, upon refill got tea & Ginger ale...it has nice decor & outdoor seating...

Another place that is now closed in Sunny Isles.

Undiscovered gem in Sunny Isles Beach.  Stopped in yesterday for happy hour tapas & sangria (after reading about the place in a blog)- and was very pleasantly surprised.  It's in a stand-alone building within a shopping center, across from the Jade Ocean condo... with plenty of outdoor seating.  Sat outside and stuffed our faces with $3 tapas and $3 sangria (happy hour prices).

Ordered several tapas.... shrimp grilled in garlic sauce, mushrooms with manchego cheese, morcilla sausage, cheese platter, bread... my mouth waters just typing it all out again.

We were there from opening at 4pm - until about 6pm on a Monday, and sadly were the only ones there the entire time... so please, please, please stop in and make sure they stay open!  They even gave us discount cards to come back on Flamenco Dance nights! :)
