Captured By Porches Brewery

We hit up the St. John's Bizarre last weekend and loved the community spirit being shown by the neighborhood.  While there, we ordered some burgers from a food cart and strolled over to Captured By Porches' beer bus while we waited for our food to get cooked.  I loved the bus, and the service couldn't have been friendlier.  Plus it was hot, so what could be better than some suds.  I ordered the kolsch to start.  Tasty and refreshing, but very unfortunately, almost completely flat.  Maybe this is what the brewers intended - I don't know.  I just prefer some fizz to my beer.  I followed that up with their rye ale, which was carbonated a little better, but also not brewed by Captured by Porches.  The rye was outstanding, and I wouldn't have minded lingering longer to get another one.  Regardless, for a neighborhood place to grab a brew, you could do far worse.

Undoubtedly my family's favorite new weekend hanging spot in St. Johns.  Mom and Dad can get excellent CPB beer, the kiddo can ride his bike around and play on the bus -- fun for the whole family!  Great spot to relax and socialize with the neighbors.

Stop and drink in the bus!Do not let the smoothness of the bus fool you! This place is a great hangout spot. Grab a brew, hope in the bus and chill out listening to sweet tunes... I wish this was in downtown Portland more, but a great stop on the way to the airport!
