Consistently solid food. Prices are very reasonable, portions are on point, and everything I've ever ordered (too many items to list) has been satisfying. I've never had anything off the menu which I felt I could have handled on my own at home - to me, that's deliciousness. To my recollection, Chelsea's is one of the few places Bar / Restaurant locations with a outdoor patio -- and an outdoor patio with a comforting view. When I'm here, I love to sit outside, drink a pint, and chat it up as long as my attention span desires. The draft beer selection is healthy and the bottle beer list more than decent. Â Oh yes, bathrooms have always been pristine. And who has ever said I hate clean bathrooms! No one, not never.
CONS - CLOSED ON SUNDAYS --- I feel like this is such a bad business choice being that I know many of BR folks long for a Sunday drinking spot-- a la New Orleans where Sunday drinking is the norm ------ ***also, there is serious lack of diversity re the server side of things - I've been frequenting Chelsea's regularly since it was located right off LSU campus (10 years ago) and I've only seen one person of color working there ( a black waitress) Â this entire decade-- I'm not such a fan of this...the times...they are..a changing....
I told my girlfriend I was craving a grilled cheese one day, and then I ended up in cheesy heaven the next day. I have never had such an amazing grilled cheese sandwich. The cheese was perfectly melted and the bread was toasted to perfection. I am drooling about it by just writing about it. The place is a little bit divey but I like the atmosphere and all of the servers seem to know what they are doing. I will definitely be back there soon, hopefully to catch a live band!!
