Ok, so this place is pretty hipster. But every once and a while you have to get your hipster on, right? I've only been once but I liked the set up a lot - big bar in the back away from the dancing people and the stage with a pretty sizeable outdoor area for hanging out when the weather is nice. Great drink prices too, when I went it was something like $7 for a beer and a shot...what more can you really ask for?
As other reviewers have stated, it's very similar to Red Star, but I feel like this place is better suited for live music because of the tremendous amount of space and Red Star is better for kickin' it with your friends at a normal conversation level.
This place is the spiritual successor to Baton Rouge's beloved Red Star. Most of the staff were previously employed by Red Star and the manager is the former manager of Red Star. It's a very cool bar with a huge patio. It has a lot of potential as a music venue and a place to hang out. It is located in the old L bar building which has been lightly spruced up. It has been kind of slow when I've gone, but it's always been a good time.
