We came all the way to the south side to wait in line for about 30 minutes and it was worth the wait! I ordered 3 wings with a waffle, and a side catfish filet. The waffle has a hint of cinnamon or nutmeg, I don't know but it was really good and so was the chicken. I'm glad that I ordered the catfish it was delicious. I also tasted the macaroni, it reminds me of my grandmas. Great meal, I'll be back!
Review Source:Love, love, love this place! I've been coming here for a long time and it never gets old! Yes, the line is ALWAYS long...but, trust me, you'll want to stay and wait it out! The food is worth it! That's why the lines are always long, because those people know it's worth it too. Lol!
Some of my favorites are: the greens and mac' and cheese. Â I also LOVE their lemon grilled catfish! I'm obsessed with their buckwheat waffles too! Of course, the fried chicken is the http://bomb.com; juicy and succulent. Fried catfish is good too. I can go on and on about what else is good, because my list includes drinks and desserts too (PEACH COBBLER). But, don't sit here and read reviews all day...just GO!
I have not actually been here to eat, but our company catered food from here for lunch. Â We had fried chicken (thighs, legs, and wings), collard greens, mac and cheese, yams, corn bread, beans, rice, and peach cobbler. Â Everything was delicious! The only dish I could not finish was the peach cobbler because there was just too much butter in it. But the parts I could eat, like of the crust of the cobbler, were delicious!
The chicken was very tender. I never eat chicken thighs because I'm not a fan of white meat due to its usual dryness. Â However, the chicken thighs here were really tender and juicy. A wonderful surprise!
I would definitely eat food from Chicken and Waffles again!
