Update...If they can't at least keep the place clean enough to pass local health regulations, count me out...
Bottom Line: Â Food not bad for a dive bar, but prices have continued to go up and up and up with no corresponding increase in quality, and, sadly, a decrease in quantity! Â Wings are definitely better than some of the other local wing joints that we've tried and sauce variety is good, for my taste, but how expensive should a basic fried chicken wing be? Â Wings are leftovers for most higher end restaurants. Â Â Now, I fully realize that there is overhead that the restaurant must cover, but enough is enough...and, it's not like they don't make any money on drinks!
For folks like me who have been coming here for 10 years +, the price increases are hard to stomach...used to be able to get a "truckload" of 55 wings for close to $50. Â At last check, the "tray" is now down to 45 wings and it's actually more expensive, now in the mid-high $50's. Â
Hope "The Bone" will realize that customers pay for value--and rethink their pricing. When customers perceive that they're getting a lot less for their money, they generally start looking elsewhere...
Anyone know of any good wing joints nearby (other than the smoked and fried ones we make at home? Â :) Â ) Â Might just have to cross over 128 and head to Buff's Pub...
This place has one of the best environments of any restaurant in the metrowest. Food was spectacular service outstanding. Hot honey sauce was just the perfect amount of bite to it. the burgers also outstanding, especially the black and blue burger. Definitely come here for dinner and the bands that play are awesome.
GREAT PLACE TO EAT!
So disappointing! Â My wife and I recently moved to Framingham and wer are very close to the Chicken Bone. Â Everyone told us to check it out, for the holidays my brother and his family got us a gift certificate to the chicken bone. Â We do a lot of take out. We ordered a little bit of everything. Â We were hoping the fries and burgers would be good enough to replace, or at least be an ok alternative to, Lee's in Newton. Â It was not. Â The food was nothing special and though I can imagine it was better in the restaurant, it did not age well on the car ride home. Â
We even gave it a second shot but still the food was gross. Â Luckily we found Pepperoncini's. Â We will be going there for our take out needs.
Went here with friends for drinks and dinner on a night that a band was playing. I'm not sure if this is the case every night, or just on nights when they have live music, but this place was very loud and crowded, with a line out the door for the entire night. We stood around at the bar (which has beer, liquor, and wine) waiting for a table to open up, and one did after about ten minutes. One thing that I noticed right away: If you want to order from the bar, you honestly need to yell- it's that loud, even before the band's set starts.
Our first waitress was nice and had a good sense of humor, but we were told halfway through that our waitress wanted to go home because it was nearing the end of her shift, so we were getting another. Both waitresses proceeded to wait on us for the next 40 minutes, resulting in duplicate drinks and forgotten sides and adaptations to entrees. One of us ordered an additional sauce, which she got as we were paying the check- not exaggerating.
Now, I must say, I'm not a big fan of bar food or wings, so this isn't really my scene- I wouldn't have been interested in this place had my friends not wanted to check it out after seeing the Bar Rescue episode. However, I'm pretty sure that my nachos were not up to par by most people's standards. It was clear that the toppings had all been taken out of a jar and refrigerated for hours, as they were served on the side in little plastic containers (am I weird for wanting my nachos pre-assembled and warm?). The "sexy fries" were just waffle fries with cheese whiz, which two of us thought was a turn-off and two of us thought was just great. Everyone other than me seemed relatively happy with their food (phantom wings, a cheese steak), so maybe it's decent if you like bar food. But I just didn't feel like the quality was there. I had ordered their margherita pizza for take-out once before, which was decent... but it tasted like a bar trying to make a more upscale dish (which it was). Nothing special. So if you're into healthier, more upscale food, this isn't a great place for you. But supposedly, the wings are the best in the area.
As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, the people there were a diverse crowd, ranging from some not-very-classy-looking people (euphemisms...) to professionals grabbing a drink after work to a few older guys in cowboy hats (can't explain that one). I saw people in their very early twenties all the way through their fifties and sixties. Hard to say what type of person comes here, or what kind of bar this is- the decor is divey, but it seems to be frequented by all kinds of people, and lots of them.
Additionally, once the band started, it was totally impossible to carry a conversation, and we were definitely not sitting right in the front. If you just want to hang out with friends and have dinner and drinks, I wouldn't recommend doing it here on a night when they have live music. We dashed out because it just wasn't enjoyable anymore.
Note: If you are under 21, you will not be able to get in here- they will even hassle you for your ID if you are picking up take-out.
Fantastic. I love this place. My girlfriend and I went there for the first time today ( around 3pm) and loved it. It had business but wasn't crowded. We sat at the bar and our bartender was very friendly and attentive. We order the Phantom Gourmet's Favorite (frank's red hot with garlic and parmesan). It was perfectly delicious! We both loved every single bite. The drinks were good too. She also had some onion rings that she loved. We ordered a pizza to go and holy crap...it was amazing too. I saw them on Bar Rescue, probably like most new comers, so I thought it would only be good for wings. Boy was I wrong. The pizza is on par with a lot of the higher end pizza places. We now have to get both every time, done deal. The atmosphere is that of a typical bar and grill but they have music. I may have to go for the music...and maybe the great wings...and pizza. I highly recommend this place. We had a wonderful meal and good time while there. The staff is friendlier then most places too. If you want wings, pizza or drinks go to The Chicken Bone.
Review Source:The place is nice you should try and get there by 9pm as post that there is a live band that plays keeps the atmosphere more lively.
Best Chicken wings eaten ever in the USA.
And large pizza are really large.
It should cost 60$ to 70$ for two with lots of alcohol to drink a normal meal without drinks should be about 30$ for two.
A must try place.
I can't tell you how many times we have given them a 2nd chance over the past 7 years, but this was our last. The food quality was going downhill until they had the Bar Rescue show come, there was just a brief blip of quality, and now back to low quality.
I would say the ONLY thing going for them food wise is their sauce's, but the quality of the "legendary" wings was very poor and small, and VERY overpriced at $10 for what you get.. Â I also got a "buffalo" chicken calzone that had almost no buffalo to it, I had to break out a lot of Frank's to even get close.
And their sexy fries, for $4 got like 1/2 of the amount of fries you get Wings Over or other places.
Very sad, as it was great years ago, but this was the last straw and just done with them.
After seeing the Bar Rescue episode again on Sunday, I got hungry for some chicken wings again so we went yesterday. Â I like this place. Â It's divey, could be a little cleaner and more organized, but it does the job. Â It seems like most remnants of the Bar Rescue makeover are gone: Â The mural Bar Rescue "painted over" is still there. Â I'm guessing the proprietor took down whatever plain wallboard they put over it. Â The place is called The Chicken Bone again, no longer just The Bone -- but thankfully they've removed the mascot that has a flame shooting out of its ass. Â
The wings were great as well as their sweet potato fries. Â The bartenders were friendly and the food was quick to arrive. Â Plus, they have my current favorite beer on tap: Â Jack's Abby Smoke & Dagger. Â The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the place could be a little cleaner -- or at least give the appearance that's cleaner. Â And if I ask for extra celery, don't give me a side plate with 50 pieces of celery and charge me $2 for it. Â I was looking for maybe 5 extra pieces and stuff like that should be on the house, especially for what they charge. Â This place isn't that cheap -- a leftover artifact of Bar Rescue, I'm sure, where the basis of Jon Taffer's advice is to give the customers less, but charge them more (the man's a genius, I tell ya). Â Don't nickle and dime your customers, it's weak. Â Stuff like celery and extra sauce (within reason) should be free.
That all said, it's a strong 3.5 star place, so I'll give it a 4.
I have always been a fan of The Bone. Â Even though Jon Taffer almost sunk the place trying to change the menu. Â When you eat-in the place , the wings are top notch, possibly the best between 128 and 495.
BUT ( yes another BUT from me ) .... I recently ordered take-out for the Patriot's playoff game this year and was extremely disappointed. Â Not in the quality and taste of the wings but the value. Â I ordered a large ( with bones) Â for $21.49. Can you guess how many wings were in that box ...EIGHTEEN ... you have to be kidding me. Â That is $1.19 per wing for those of you keeping score at home. Â Not to mention they totally forgot to put my blue cheese, celery, and carrots in the bag.
I love The Bone and some of the other things on the menu are pretty good but please , the price of the wings are ridiculous.
So the husband and I decided to try again, we really want to like this place.
We ordered by phone and went into to pick-up the food. The atmosphere was very..um...well, if I wanted to go to bar to drink this might be the place. But it seemed geared towards an older crowd. Not a place you'd bring the kids. But the bartender seemed nice when he was directing us where to go.
Again, fix your online ordering and your Grubhub account. It'll make your life (and more importantly, the lives of your customers, easier). My husband did say that the person who answered the phone this time was very polite and seemed real nice.
So this time we ordered the beer battered fish and chips, honey bbq hand breaded wings, phantom's favorite hand breaded wings, and the chipotle beer bbq non-hand breaded wings.
The beer battered fish and chips, decent size. It came with fries (which we upgraded to sweet potato) and coleslaw (which tasted rotten). The fish was so greasy and so over-battered, it was basically inedible.
The honey bbq wings, well they have us the hot honey sauce instead. So that off the bat is bad. The breading was soggy and the whole thing just didn't taste good.
The phantom's favorite, also really soggy batter, was eh. I'm not entirely sure what the flavors I tasted was.
The chipotle beer batter tastes a lot like honey bbq, but very spicy. It was actually pretty good and the only thing we ordered that wasn't awful. Sadly, Â husband couldn't enjoy it because it was a bit too spicy.
I think its safe to say we won't be trying a third time.
It's just so disappointing because everyone talks about how great this place is supposed to be and how amazing the food is. Honestly, not sure what the difference between the Chicken Bone and Wings Over is.
Fun place if you're there early. Late weekend nights tends to get a bit rowdy. Live music is good. Just for the fact that they have "Beer Battered Bacon Strip" apps that taste horrible, with old greasy bacon, I can only give it 2 stars. Â As Natasha R. said in her review about the app -- "Even the dog turned his nose at it". Woof!
Review Source:This place certainly has a strange vibe. As others mentioned, the crowd varies. A wide assortment of people.
They have a decent beer selection, big menu with lots of smaller additions.
The food was good. Got two types of wings and enjoyed both. Sweet potato fries were better than the regular fries.
Service is the biggest and only complaint I have. Slow and uninterested seem like good descriptive words for how you're served. But that's okay, I wasn't expecting a 5-star dining extravaganza, but it was a fun meal at a friendly place.
I enjoyed the meal... minus having a mouthful of beer spit all over me by the guy sitting next to us.
It has been interesting to watch the evolution of "the Bone" formerly "the Chicken Bone" formerly the "Chicken Bone Saloon". Â WIth each iteration and change to the ambience, the food has remained the same. Â But in some ways the experience has changed. It is now a lot more family friendly and a lot less "dive bar". Â Some things need the grit. Â The open blues night is awesome. The chicken is great.
Review Source:This place suddenly has new menus and ALOT has changed... for the worse...
Pros: Â Decent wings. Â Live bands on some nights. Â TV's for watching the game, though don't expect to hear them.
Cons: Â First, let's start with the $10 all-you-can- eat wings and $5 pizza promotion on Sunday nights... IT'S GONE. Â The best deal in town is extinct. Â This is very disappointing. Â They did away with trivia nights as well. Â
The majority of the waitstaff and bartenders are surly and rude. Â There are a few exceptions, as I hate to generalize too much. Â I suspect the owner of this place is really trying to squeeze every dime out of the customers and hiring sub-par staff. Â
Our most recent visit was terrible. Â The worst part was being lied to. Â We wanted to order two more blue cheeses for our wings, because they skimp by giving you ONE. Â We ordered 18 wings, but since only half were Buffalo, we were denied TWO blue cheeses. Â WOW. Â Ridiculous. Â So we wanted to order TWO more of them, which are 99 cents a piece... fine. Â
So I asked our waitress and she said that we should order the celery and carrots side dish, because it was a better deal and we''d get the blue cheeses with that add on for a better value than buying them alone. Â First of all, who doesn't add Celery and Carrots for FREE with wings... EVERY place does. Â Not the The Bone, anymore! Â 99 cents for blue cheese? Â 50 cents is the norm, but ok, not going to complain over 49 cents inflated price.
So, celery and carrots arrive... a tiny plate, mind you.. Â and we got ONE blue cheese, not even the TWO I told her we wanted. Â When the bill came, $3.99 for a few carrot and celery sticks, and only one Blue cheese. Â Ridiculous. Â I don't know where she went to school, but two blue cheeses for 99 cents are $1.98... Â half the price of getting one blue cheese and some tiny veggie sticks. Â
It's not the price that mattered, but rather having the waitress straight up lie to us and not even gettting what we wanted by letting her suggest the 'best value'. Â
Overall: Â The Bone has gone downhill. Â We used to love going here, but it's not the same anymore. Â With the fancy new menus came huge price hikes, no more deals, and what seems like a surly staff trying to nickle and dime you at every turn.
Buff's pub in Newton still beat The Bone. Â And to be honest, Â I'd drive to Buffalo Wild Wings for the selection, cheaper prices, and friendlier staff, rather than go back to The Bone. Â So disappointed.
Have read all the reviews on "The Bone" for a while. Â Let me first tell you that I am a Buffalo Wing nut. Â Love em. Â The hotter the better. Â If the tips of my fingers start to melt, it's ALMOST hot enough.
With that being said I have had wings all over the world. Â Some good, some bad, some great, some not so great. Â Â But after reading the reviews of the Bone I decided to take my son down there after he passed all of his MCAS tests and has excelled in school far beyond our expectations. Â He has the same taste in hot food that I do.
So here is how the night went:
Picked him up after the football game (They won, another reason to celebrate) and drove out to Framingham. Â Didn't tell him where we were going, thought the live band and the food would be a great treat.
We pulled in the parking lot to discover that my truck just BARELY fit in there, Yes, it's a big truck, but that's not even a problem normally.
We walked up to the restaurant and immediately upon the door opening, HOLY CRAP was the music loud. Â Now, I understand that the bands name is Eleven. Â and Yes, they took it one louder. Â Would be OK if "The Bone" had an area that was even SLIGHTLY deadened from the sound. Â The bad was great. Â Way to loud, but great.
OK, so here we go  The boy and I are excited for some hot ass wings.  The wife is rolling her eyes.  Typical.... Â
We order   We wait.
The appetizer arrives. Â Ordered up some nachos. Â Our second favorite meal. Â
well, they are overcooked and just mediocre at best. Â But that's OK, we came for wings. Â Â
Here they come  two heaping plates full of wings.  one set with the sauce on the side for the bride, the other just slathered and bathed in what smelled like a very hot sauce.
umm..
well.. Â
yeah... Â About that.
Honestly,. I think the wings you buy made by Tyson that are frozen, precooked and in a bag have more spice than these did.
It was like a smokey semi at best hot wing with a very original flavor. Â I will give it that. Â So original in fact that I know why no one has ever copied it.
The honey BBQ wings for my  much more attractive half were boneless and dry as a bone. Â
Save yourself the trouble. Â Â
if you like only OK food at best, like to pay too much and don't mind having your eardrums kicked sideways by poor acoustics and too loud of a band, then stop by  "The Bone" and get boned for yourself. Â
Otherwise. Â Find some other place to lick your fingers and enjoy your dinner. Â The Bone in my opinion is definitely over rated, over priced and under satisfying.
I've only had the wings here, but that's why you go! Â We get the chipotle beer barbecue or buffalo. Â Perfect amount of spice. Â We get boneless and they are still very moist and juicy. They are a good size, priced right, at $10 for six.
Service inside is OK, and the live music has been good when we've been there.
The bad:
The bartender, Stephanie, aka  "wet napkin", or " puss-face" needs to be relocated to the dishwasher's station .  She couldn't have looked more dissappointed to be serving us, or to be working for that matter.  We even watched her spill a Corona and then still serve it!  WTF!  I've had better service in a ladies' room in a Boston nightclub.  They served us our wings with a different sauce than what we ordered, and when I pointed it out to her, she argued with me...sheesh.
The good:
The bands were fantastic....the food was excellent pub fare, the wings are awesome, especially the ginger sesame ones, the waffle fries are great. Â And I love the blues 'n' biker atmosphere. Â
Chris was a very delightful & friendly bartender.
So I will be back with my biker babes, however I will steer clear of that yucky bartender....shame on me for letting it taint my experience...I should have complained when the service went south. Â
And Chris, if you're reading, sorry our tips sucked so bad....maybe you can give your co-bartender some pointers.
Stopped in the "chicken" Bone a week or so ago, nearly walked right back out. Â Waited at the door for a bit, and tired of being ignored I sat at a table by the bar. Â Probably not the right choice, had to ask the barmaid twice to send someone over.
Once we got a waitress, the service improved, the food on the other hand was just OK. Â The wings were a decent size, but I found the Phantom sauce too mild for my taste. I did like the Sexy waffle Fries. The cheese wiz sauce right beside was rather weak.
What really threw me was the mix of people in the place. Â College kids and retiree's shoulder to shoulder at the bar, ladies fresh from work seated next to a group having a child's (like 7rs old) birthday party at a table for 12. Â Quite the mix, and really unpleasant when the rug rats were set loose.
Won't be headed back.
Came with colleagues for wings. The deco was apparently redone and less of a dive bar then before. The manager was extra friendly. The bar served local craft beer brewer Jack's Abby beer. Nice touch. Try Smoke and Dagger.
And the wings was good, crispy outside with just enough nuclearthermal sauce on it. This sauce got good heat up front and probably my favourite.
Dear fellow yelper,
I was an advocate and walking advertisement for The Bone until tonight. On this night, they failed me. I gathered my friends for a splendid game of trivia accompanied by delicious $10 endless wings, something we have grown accustomed to do on Sundays. And TODAY I was informed that they have permanently CANCELLED trivia and REMOVED endless wings from the menu.
Needless to say, my friends and I were DEVASTATED. We left a solemn note with a pledge to never enter that establishment again. (sadly)
Signed,
Grieving former patron
I have eaten from here just once, as part of a take out order with coworkers. Happily, we have not revisited and when in the mood for wings, they order elsewhere.
I personally, don't care for wings. My one misfortune was to have their "world famous" chicken sandwich. While it was supposed to have teriyaki sauce, I didn't taste any. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten the same thing from the Golden Arches. My french fries were on the soggy side, which made for a very disappointing experience.
Revisiting my review and scaling back a few stars. Â As far as the buffalo wings go they still remain the bird of choice for what I would like to have at Thanksgiving. Â Crispy, spicy and delicious. Â The wings are a five star item. Â
This place has been renovated by one of those bar rescue kind of shows. Â I understand trimming up the menu and that seemed to kind of work. Â The interior has its perks and downfalls. Â That mural was awesome. Â I was happy to see a smaller scale painting on the back wall to kind of keep the same feeling. Â The bathroom looked a lot better but honestly the paint job was a wreck on the door. Â I could see the swipes of paint and it wasn't a solid coat it looked really rushed. Â This was the same kind of feeling we had dining there.
I shared wings and ordered a few beers. Â I was happy to see a large group to support a local band. Â It was pretty loud for a weekday night but whatever, I must just be getting old. Â It was nice to be somewhere lively. Â The first round of beer came in glasses. Â As the night progressed our service slowed and we started getting our beers in plastic cups. Â Nothing says YA BRAAA like plastic cups. Â Normally I wouldn't mind but it was the fact that there wasn't consistency here. Â No bueno.
I feel like they have more kinks to work out now but there is still potential. Â Love the live bands and wings!
Buffalo wings are my drug of choice. I was fiending for some so I decided to come here to try theirs. They were listed in an article in the Boston globe called Boston's wings, graded by Buffalo natives. They got the highest rating out of the wings this group tried.
I got the original Buffalo sauce wings, the sauce was really good. A nice tangy hot flavor. The wing itself was just ok not crispy though, I like them crispy. There could have been more sauce for dipping the french fries in. I did get my fix and felt satisfied. Until the next time.
It's a noisy place. They had a band that was rockin the house! Nice place to come with a few friends to have wings and beer. Service was a little slow but hey it was crowded.
Stopped here the other day. Gotta say the wings are SO good! I got original buffalo with the traditional fry to it. It was perfect. Sauce was spicy, wings had a crunch them, but the inside was still moist and not dry. They have a variety of flavors. My friend go Hot Honey and I tried it. I thought it was really good too. Had slight heat to it but wasn't overwhelming for those of you who don't like spicy food. For those who do they have flavors such as Thermonuclear which I hear is very hot.
The atmosphere of the place is very lively. You see TVs with the game on and people at the bar having a good time. The music is awesome and they even have nights that have live music. If I lived in the area I would definitely stop by more often and get some wings and watch the game. If I was of age I would probably pair that with a beer but I will just have to wait till next year.
Final consensus is that if you haven't been to The Bone you definitely should. Staff is friendly and provide good service. Wings are amazing. Atmosphere is great. I didn't get a chance to try the other food but if it is anything like the wings it must be very good.
Although I truly love the wings at this place, a group lunch on Friday was most disappointing. Â Most of us had wings, which were great and came out promptly. Â
Two of our party ordered caprese sandwiches without the prociutto. Oddly, these took over an hour to receive and one came with the meat on, despite the request to leave them off. Â Salads took almost as long.
It was a sad experience as I do love this place... Â Am hoping that this will just be a one time event service slip....
So this place is a hole in the wall, which is ok, but don't advertise that it's good for families. I went with a friend, so we were ok with that aspect. I wen in around 2 or 3 PM and there were maybe 20 patrons at tables plus the bar. It was also very dark, which again I'd expect at a hole in the wall, but if you don't need that maybe turn up the lights? For this they had 1 server, 1 manager, 1 bartender and 1 guy whose role was unclear...he might have been a bus boy, he might have been an expediter. It's clear the one waitress couldn't handle the 20 people in the restaurant, as was evidence my the very slow service.
I ordered 18 boneless wings, which actually ended up containing a few small bones. If that wasn't bad enough, the honey mustard provided was 2 small 4 oz cups that were maybe half-full. So I asked for additional sauce. 4 minutes later I was provided with 2 cups of Italian dressing. It took another 8 minutes for the correct sauce to be delivered. Upon receiving the bill I noted I was charged for the extra sauce. I wouldn't have minded if an appropriate amount had been provided at the outset.
It took them 11 minutes to process my credit card. I saw the waitress delivering drinks to other tables while they were supposed to be processing my payment.
I should say that I'm a mystery shopper (I was not shopping this place at the time) which is why I have the exact timings. I am used to doing that for other establishments.
Went here when it was The Chicken Bone, then recently started going again under their new name: The Bone.
The inside is pretty much the same, just much cleaner-looking. It's a medium sized bar with low lighting and live music some nights. The service seems to have improved; people greet you when you walk in, the servers are attentive and super friendly.
The old menu used to make my head hurt. It was so colorful and massive that there was no way to make a decision. It confused me that the wings (which they are known for) were listed on the very, very back of the menu. As if they did the entire menu and then realized, "OH MY GOD WE FORGOT TO LIST THE WINGS." Anyway, the new menu is much smaller and more organized. When we ordered the wings, our server described a new, revolutionary fryer which keeps the moisture into each wing.
They. Were. Amazing. The Roman and Phantom Gourmet flavors are my absolute favorites. The only minor complaint worth mentioning is that the wings don't travel and reheat well. The extra moisture makes them a bit soggy. Go there and dine-in instead.
I've never been to The Bone for one of their live music events, but I've gone for Stump! Trivia Night, which was a ton of fun.
The one thing that always kept me from revisiting 'The Chicken Bone' was the lack of description of their sauces. Â Always wanted to try "Phantom Gourmet" but had NO CLUE what it meant. Â Now I know that Phantom Gourmet is Garlic Parmesan mixed with Buffalo sauce and is AWESOME. Â Truly a classic wing flavor.
I like the changes after Bar Rescue. Â Menu showcases the wings, which it damn well should have in the first place. Â They were always excellent. Â The concept of having a rotating "special" wing sauce is intriguing. Â Having a dry rub wing or even their old southern fried wing on a daily specials menu would be awesome, but the wings they have now are probably the best in the Boston area.
The one problem I have is that "The Bone" seems to be reluctant to accept their new identity. Â Don't be. Â Run with it. Â People who complain about the new sexy menu need to relax. Â If you don't want wings, don't come to a wing joint. Â The wings and the Sexy Fries were the reasons to come to the Chicken Bone to begin with. Â Â
And for God's sake Framingham, STOP BRINGING YOUR KIDS TO BARS!!!! Â I work with kids for a living, I REALLY don't want to see any kids when I'm having a beer. Â (Note: Â Not the bars fault)
You know how sometimes when you go to an Indian restaurant, or a Mexican restaurant, or any ethnic eatery where they're known for hot food, and you order your 5-chili rated entree and you say "yes, I really want it SPICY!" you can totally tell that in the back they're privately like "pffff, whitebread can't HANDLE this action. Give him the mild".
Well, the C-bone does NOT do that, my friends. Â You order spicy, you better believe they are bringing the pain straight to your mouth. Â Delicious, sweet pain.
3 stars, its ok.
so i went here for lunch a bit ago (couple of weeks) with some co workers, nothing really exciting sorry to say. they talked it up how good it was and blah blah, but when you yelp, you can look through the whole experience a bit different.
so we got a triple order of boneless wings and 'sexy' fries. the wings were fine, nothing grand for sure, but i suppose for the area better than most places (??). maybe franks sauce, maybe not, close to it, bit vinegary you know. the fries were waffle fries, nothing too sexy about that. they got some gravy and cheese sauce on the side, didnt touch that, maybe thats what made em sexy, if thats the case, ill take my fries ellen degeneres. the diet coke wasnt coke i dont think, but if it was, they need to fix the carbo-diox machine.
i bet this place itself absolutely rages on the weekends as it looks like inside (youll know what i mean if you go in), so if thats your thing, this place might be suited to you for that, but on the same piece, i bet the townies rule the roost here.
we had a coupon (win) so the whole thing was 10 bucks a head, which for lunch is a couple bucks too many. i saw, i tried, i yelped.
I love the Bone.
Seriously, wing places in New England? Â Remember, this is New England. Â For us natives, our idea of "too spicy" is an extra bay leaf thrown in at the beginning of the pot roast. Â I just can't do hot wings.
This place gets it, and there are so many varieties of wings even those of us with wimpymouth can find delicious, tasty wings to hold the beer down. Â Speaking of beer, this place has a WAY better bar than you would expect from the outside. Â Also? Â Live blues in the 508?
Like I said, I love the Bone.
As Jeffrey H. famously said: "I like it hot. Like wicked hot. Tears, drool, runny nose - I want it so hot I leak." Unfortunately the neutron sauce didn't even get me close to hot flashes let alone one hot flash and I so so want to experience hot leakage ;) Nevertheless, there's sure a pretty darn lot of tasty chicken to be had.
The buffalos here have really large wings cause they come in ultimately juicy boneless varieties too! Go with the honey mustard sauce, it's nice and sweet with a creamy tang-ish finish. And if your heart can handle it, a side of sweet potato fries to wash it all down with.
Service can be slower than molasses. If you come for lunch, be prepared to waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait.
P.S. They have poutine if you're dying of cravings.
The bone used to be a bitchin' dive with amazing food. It was a little rough around the edges and noone would fuck with you too much.
I went in to the bone last trip home, can anyone tell me, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? I stuck my head in and it looked like lunch hour at the Prudential Center...
For shame Bone, you done sold out.
Although it is a bit far, all the way in Framingham, this place is the bomb!!! I love their boneless wings.. they are meaty, and juicy and tasty, and just very well made. Send my regards to their chef. They have a great selection of flavors... and you can even mix them. I had mine half mild buffalo and half honey bbq. I love both flavors and couldn't decide. Both were really really good and I left very happy. We also ordered sexy fries with gravy which was original and pretty good as well. I'll have to replace the gravy with cheese next time though.. seemed a bit better.
The place also has a full bar and serves cold beer. Alongside with that they have events just about every day of the week and play blues! That's just another reason why I love it. The prices are reasonable as well. Overall, it's like a dream come true.
I can't wait until they open their Boston location in April...
Definitely a dive bar...but a GREAT one. All you can eat wings from 8-10 on Wednesdays (and Mondays too, I think). They are up to 13 different flavors of wings, and the fries are pretty tasty too (and also balance the wings, since you don't get celery here). In fact...there aren't many 'healthy' options here at all, but I assume that's not what people are looking for when they come here.
Staff was mostly cute, flirty girls...so all the guys I went with were pleased.
Losing points for a less-than-stellar band that played too loud. Other than that, it's a winner for sure.
Thanks Yelpers, wouldn't have gone here without ya!
Gotta give this one the full-on 5 stars. Â (revised to 4)
Excellent food, excellent service. Â Reasonable prices, atmosphere good. Â We're not talking Michelin stars here, basic quality grub.
One thing I really love about this place; any request is met with: "Sure!"
Love the wings and tenders, cool variety of sauces. Â Thermonuclear sauce is straight-up, sinus clearing hot. Â Hot Garlic (kind of a hot Buffalo with heavy garlic-how could you go wrong with that?) also excellent. Â Interesting blend-Thermo mixed with Teriyaki= Smoky-Yaki.
Great portions. Â Sweet potato fries (thin, loved 'em), thick-cut skin -on regular fries (very good).
Hell, even the kids cheeseburger was damn good.
Live music after 8:30-9:00.
Hypercane was tuning up while we were there, smooth hand on the guitar, dude. Â Nice. Â (see photos)
Update-last visit "sure" was not the default answer-not sure if there is new mgmt that is rigid or what...
I am honored to be the first to rate the 'Bone. Â
"A great place to lose the blues," as their logo states. Â Such a nice change of pace from the stupid chain restaurants littering the surrounding mall areas of Framingham/Natick. Â Â
An order of  boneless wings, a 20 oz beer and some sexy fries from the 'Bone is probably one of the best meals around. Â
They boast 8 or 10 flavors of sauce for their chicken, I haven't tried them all, really because the mild buffalo is purely amazing. Â The honey BBQ is dope, also the Greek is good. Â They will also let you mix flavors: the lady behind the bar was eating a combo of mild buffalo with teriyaki which sounded interesting and she said it was real good. Â
I don't think it gets better for wings. Â A+
