I've been here a few times, and most recently went yesterday. Absolutely average. The food is actually a little more expensive than it ought to be. The ranch is the worst I've ever tasted -- watered down and virtually flavorless. The menu is chock full of 1,000 calorie (or more) bombs. I wound up getting the Margarita Chicken which is 500 calories, and I thought it was alright, even if a bit salty.
Two of my friends got the honey BBQ Crispers. I tasted the sauce, and it tasted like diabetes. Way too sweet, and it didn't even taste that great. My other friend got the sampler, and there's nothing ever wrong with getting those.
I should also add that a single bottle of that mediocre "beer" people like -- Bud Light -- costs four bucks. More reason to pass on this place.
The bar area is nice, and there is also a decent number of TVs as well, but I could do without coming here. I'm not exactly a manorexic, but even THIS should scare somebody enough to not want to eat it:

The 2 for $20 is a pretty good deal. Â App, 2 entrees, stuffed and doggy bag. Did you know in Germany they don't put their leftovers in doggy bags, they just throw it away!
Pros: Â Attentive and nice servers. Â Good looking food. Â Good tasting food. Â This is like adult ice cream, only its salt, fat, meat and sugar. Â Good fresh tasting beer on tap. Â This location is better than other locations I've been too. Â Competition is good.
Cons: Overcooked corn on the cob (what Bennigan's like place doesn't have overcooked corn?) Â It was still edible. Â Â The hand that holds the salt shaker needs to back off a bit. Â The corn, corn chips, fries, everything had the mark of the heavy handed salt shaker man. Â I can't stand when they forget salt but just don't overdo it. Â Â Silverware was not impressively clean looking, maybe they need Cascade. Â Salsa was meh but the guacamole was good.
I was almost swayed to give a lower rating because of all the other lower ratings but I didn't have the bad experience the others had, maybe it was just a slow night (it was) and they could afford to treat me well. Â Anyways, I liked it.
The BF and I stopped in the other day because we were heading out to Lakeside mall and I was craving a burger. Ugh, we had two servers working as a team and it still took 25 minutes to get our classic nachos appetizer and 40 minutes for two burgers? Did I mention we were two of 6 people in the *whole* right side section of the restaurant?? They were friendly though, when we did see them. Although, the female of the duo was a little too chatty. I don't care that you're working a double and you had to clock out and re-clock in. Do you want me to go on about my work day? And, I'm sorry, don't ask me if I want a refill. If you see it's empty just get another one. If I don't drink it, I don't drink it. It's not going to hurt you any if it's left.
I had the Jalepeno Smokehouse burger and the boyfriend had the BBQ Smokehouse burger. He really enjoyed his; me not so much. It was just meh. Kind of overcooked and could tell by the cheese they had been sitting under the warmer for some time. Then again, I didn't get mayo or ranch on it, because they're equally disgusting and waste of too many calories and fat grams, so that could be why it was just 'meh.' But, if something needs mayo and ranch to give it zing, it's definitely not worth it. And my fries were overcooked and I usually love Chili's fries. And I will never order another JSB, not because it was meh, but because they're 1250 calories!!!!! Are you kidding me?!?! That's disgusting.
I knew we should have went next door to Dooley's for burgers.
My mom and I had to drive out to Sterling Heights today and Chili's was very close to where we were, and easy to get in and out on Hall Road.
The food was standard for what you'd find at any Chili's, but what made this visit different, and not so great, was the service. We arrived at 12:45 and thought that it'd be super busy because it was lunch time. However, it wasn't busy at all and we expected to have decent service because it wasn't too busy.
The server that we had was awful. She didn't come to the table to get our drink order for a good ten-minutes. Then it took her another ten-minutes to bring the drinks to us. My mom's drink was weak (no syrup) and needed to be changed, but the server took forever to come and check on us.
We placed our order and ordered soup and thought that the soup would come out quickly and then we'd have time to enjoy before the food came out. We waited for a good forty minutes before anything came out and the the soup and lunches came at the same time (I hate that!!).
Needless to say, this was not a good visit and I will not be back. The next time I have to drive out to Sterling Heights, I'll be sure to try somewhere else before going back to this Chili's.
