Sterling's Bistro

For the prices I expected much better. The fiancee and I went in on a thursday night expecting to spend $65-70 or so on a decent meal. We both had the small filets, one appetizer, split a side salad, split dessert; I had 2 beers she had a tall pour of wine. Our bill was over $100. Partly due to the fact that the 'upcharge' to have grilled asparagus on my plate instead of the grilled veg medley was $6! I found that OUTRAGEOUS. The asparagus wasnt even that good. The food was meh, not bad but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was, however, nice and romantic. Thats about the only thing they have going for them. One more gripe. the menu was outdated and many items I inquired about were no longer being offered, most notably the bread pudding.
For the kind of money we spent on dinner we could have stayed close to home and dined at the Rochester Chop House and had a superb meal. Dont bother with this place unless someone insists on going, and if you do, watch the bill for nickel and dime upcharges.

This is a hit or miss place. By this I mean service and food quality are NOT consistent! My initial visit here was great, but my second time dining was a disaster! We had a reservation and were seated right away, however it took nearly 10 mins for our server to come to the table and greet us with menus when I witnessed several available servers standing around near back of restaurant! Our sever was Stephanie, she was unprofessional, incompetent, and basically missing in action throughout our entire dining experience. We had to ask several other servers to get her for refills on drinks and even had to speak to someone else to correct an issue with our food! Server Stephanie never came to our table, only to present the check. I even had to get another server to cash us out! Manager was not much better in his professionalism, my dish was undercooked which he attempted to improve but never returned to our table to ask if the meal was more satisfactory! Overall, this place is trying to live up to an upscale bistro feel in macomb county but is staffing this place with Burger King level servers and cooks. For these meal prices I suggest you travel elsewhere!

Visited 6 times so far. Never been disapointed. Always a very good meal. Love the sea bass. Can"t wait until my next visit
