No thank you! I called to place an order and the phone rang forever. When I asked the guy (I'm assuming it was the actual owner), if they have a menu online, the guy simply told me he doesn't have time to tell me right now and hung up. So hey, go ahead and patron guys like this, because when his business tanks and I know it will, I will be the one smiling and laughing at him while he moves into a cardboard box and he'll realize that perhaps he wasn't too busy to tell a new customer, whether or not they had a menu online!
Review Source:What lacks in flavor is easily made up in volume. Â We traveled all the way from bordering Illinois just to check out the famed-word-of-mouth goodness that is Chinese Kitchen. Â Ordered the scrumptious Mongolian Beef (the least volume but a hit with the nephews), Gaeng Daeng (Thai red curry - lacked any distinctive flavor ), Thai Curry Fried Rice (massive portion but rice was very dry) and Beef Lo Mein (nice chunky flat noodles and loved by my Irish/Italian brother-in-law). Â
I actually asked the Chinese boss-man (Cantonese speaker) what he recommended as its a regular sighting at Chinese restaurants to see employees huddled around a table eating items that are distinctively Chinese and perhaps not normally ordered. Â His well thought out lazy suggestion directed me to the Family Style Dinner menu that ranged from $22-46... nah. Â I just couldn't picture him eating any of that stuff so I ignored this and went with my order.
Anyways during our 15minutes four other female customers walked in to order take-out... guess it was a night off for the celebrity house wives of Highland IN.
The service was quick and easy... 3 chef's in the back were busy during our time there. Â
Will I be back? Nope... think if I wanted normal Chinese with a hint of Thai I'll probably just hit up a local spot or even visit Panda Express. Â This spot failed to impress in any other way than sheer volume as it is now the following day and leftovers will surely give me the unwelcomed "Ni Hao" for the next day or two.
I have traveled around and have had Chinese food all over, but nothing compares to the Chinese Kitchen. I love this place. I live 2000 miles away from it, but every time I fly back home to visit my dad, I make sure we go here! Best Kung Pao Chicken ever. Also goo egg rolls and marco polo spaghetti.
