I had an intimate birthday hookah lounge session last Saturday. The experience was pleasant, it was however very cold. I haven't experienced Millbrae to be that cold in the summer, then again, the weather have been chilly than hot this year.
Z was kind enough to situate us away from the far back and crowded area per requested. I feel cramped and suffocated when its too crowded. It was however a bad idea, since the area we were at was not under a canopy or a heated lamp, so it was cold and windy. We were there from 9:30 till 1am. Sake kept us warm and hookah gave us a buzz, so we were okay. Very attentive guys and wait service from Boiling Bay restaurant, which served us our drinks or food if needed (we didn't order food since we already ate).
Stick to their beer and sake, you can't go wrong. Skip the wine, it will relax you too much paired with hookah.
It got a bit cramped, but it wasn't bad. We were hoping there would be a dj, but there wasn't any at the time, but they had some music playing which made us wiggle in our chair dancing at some moments. We requested the heat lamp, but it was never turned on because they had no propane, and there wasn't any available at their nearest stores? Hmmm, oh well...
We envied the people in the canopy area, they had electric heated Lamps hung above them.
Overall, I'd come back on a much calmer and warmer weather w/friends. It's a nice compliment to Millbrae. It's not in the city, which is a plus if you want to keep it local. I like this spot, it's for those chill days/nights and the mature. Relaxed atmosphere, unpretentious and attentive young and professional owners. Do not expect to see an old middle eastern man with an accent introducing himself to you, these guys are hip.
They are fairly new and seems to have been testing out some things that works or doesn't. Could use more comfy chairs to lounge, especially on chilly days/nights, it would have helped a little if a couple or friends could sit closer and cuddle to keep warm.
I think the chairs with arms took on more space that it should have. Get rid of those armed chairs, it will be less cramped and awkward on a crowded space. Just a thought :)
Ciao!
This place is really awesome. Good prices and nice spot. It can get a little tough to move around. It gets pretty windy (bring a jacket just in case) but it's nice they have many heaters to accommodate the chill. There are so many flavors to choose from. My favorite flavor and must try is the chocolate chip mint & HYPHY!
The owner "Z" is very sweet and always making sure his guest are taken good care of.
A good tip is to EAT before you go to this place.
Overall experience: I will return again with more people following.
Atmosphere was relaxed, the owner is a super cool guy, service was great, hookah was well managed, flavorful, rich and easy to draw - all in all a great experience.
I withhold that fifth star for the outdooor setup and the prices. This hookah lounge is outdoors on a wood patio under some canvas tents and there's not a whole lot of room. The tents do little to tame a windy day, but the temperature is managed by some space heaters. The prices were at the higher end of reasonable.
That being said I still recommend this place, I really enjoyed it.
Slippery nipple? The shocker? Shizzl ma nizzle? The creamer?
(o_O)
Any place, rather anyone who has more of a creatively perverted mind than I do deserves 5 stars.
Too bad that I'm not that easy because a business has to earn each of their 5 stars so let's count them out, baby:
*1 STAR* for a humorously perverted menu complete with a cartoon of a beezie with an apple bottom badonkadonk.
**1 STAR** Â for having over 30 flavors and over 30 flavor combos with yummy flavors like blueberry muffin, white gummy bear, and watermelon mint.
***1 STAR*** Â for very welcoming and attentive service by the owners.
****1 STAR**** Â for a heated outdoor patio with hip hop and pop music bumping in the background.
*****1 STAR***** for offering booze!
Nothing like classifying hookah with a glass of cab: <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2F13GKgmV&s=093be803a88bc98a494cbd093463baf03542be7f428e77abb52fe5948fd8b2ba" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://bit.ly/13GKgmV</a>!
OTHER NOTES:
*Perfect for a chill night. Get there early if you have a large group.
*Cloudz Hookah uses The Boiling Bay's (Chinesey hot pot place) patio area as their hookah area: <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-boiling-bay-millbrae#query:boiling%20bay">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>
*Service was ultra-friendly and VERY attentive. We were checked on multiple times throughout the night. We were also given complimentary popcorn and fried wontons.
*Hookah is $15 if you pay cash or $17 if you pay with a credit card.
--2-3 people per a hookah max so if you're a group of 4, you'll need 2 hookahs.
--Hookah menu: <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2F13GKhHx&s=b5b10615f1f5a0d91bc7c1b177d9133cf3a4f2a7bbdabd7347034c10f8f51f49" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://bit.ly/13GKhHx</a>
*Food and drinks are provided by The Boiling Bay (only drink menu was provided that night).
--Stick with beer and/or wine (standard pricing: $5 for draft beer and $8-$10 for a glass of wine).
--Avoid any of their Chinesey teas and/or milk teas; my friend said it was nasty.
*10-12 tables.
*Easy street parking.
Very attentive service, great smoking hookah with quality shisha, outdoor experience, and right across the street from my place. Â
A lot of hookah bars use crappy insta-light charcoals that taste like petroleum, not here. Â Clean taste with a menu that list brands. Â Nakhla and Al-Fakher are the best to me, so its good to know what I'm getting when ordering.
It's in the back of Boiling Bay in case you don't see it from the street, just a hop & skip from Millbrae BART/Caltrain station.
I went here to check it out because all the hookah lounges were either closing down or have a restriction until 10pm. The hookah is on point and the ambiance is definitely made for a great hookah experience. You will not be disappointed if you come here. Ask for Z and his expertise and he'll take care of your hookah needs. The service is excellent and the hours are what I expect at a hookah lounge. I will recommend this place to all my friends and come back myself for sure!
Review Source:The menu here is hilarious, as every mix has a particular name. And the menu also has these really funny cartoons on it. The hookah its self was very good. The service was phenomenal, the young guy working there kept asking to switch coals and how we were doing. The location is not bad, but it is behind a chinese restaurant, so not the most prime of locations. I will be coming back for sure.
Review Source:We were jonzing for some outside fresh air action. So we decided to go smoke some hookah. I noticed this place had just opened up and had some descent reviews. When we arrived were a little taken aback by it being behind a chinese resturaunt- in their courtyard?
Ok...we maned up and went in. We were seated right away. There were some other parties there. They has some tables, chairs, heaters, and canopies up. The hookah list was really extensive. The music was bumpin. We chose the "virgin lungs" flavor and we thought it was smooth and tasty...
If you want food it will be from the chinese place. Same thing goes with any drinks. Dont get the wine. Its not at all drinkable.
This place can be the spot when the weather warms up. But something has to be said about the ambiance... other than that this place definitely has promise!
First time here, and I absolutely love it!
The service:AHHHHMAZING!
The hookah: FABULOUS!
The atmosphere: REFRESHIN!
Honestly, a great place to smoke hookah, Â chill with friends, get some food (which is great) AND I love how its in Millbrae right near Bart! Perfect!!
You guys need to come here!
Cool place. Came here a few months back before it was taken over by Cloudz and it wasn't nearly as nice as it is now. Tents and heating lamps keep you warm outside on colder nights. The flavors are unique and taste great, and the menu has some awesome original artwork. The manager of the spot is Z and he is a really nice guy. Perfect for a nice chill night in Millbrae.
Review Source:Okay I'll start by saying that I have been smoking Hookah for over 13 years and counting. I absolutely LOVE Hookah!!!
I have tried a lot of different Hookah lounges from all over, all the way from Canada to LA and back. I have found some good places and some not so good. I have been searching for a place a little closer to home that can satisfy my Hookah Craves. Â Well my prayers have been answered. Cloudz Hookah had the grand opening on April 20th, 2013 and WoW was it jammed pack with fun!!
You can ask my close friends I have been smoking the same flavor for years now (chocolate chip mint), this is the only place I have been to that has changed my mind. My new favorite is the "King's Mix" (Gummy Bear Lemon Mint). The service was very welcoming and even though it was a really busy night, they seem to have it down and everyone looked happy. The food is really good too!! (a mix of Chinese and bbq)
Thank you Cloudz for finally appealing to my Hookah addiction. I'm really glad I found a place I can call my new SPOT!! And a bonus, their open 7 days a week and even late too. See you soon!!
We've been coming here for awhile before it got remolded and it was pretty bad back then, the service sucked but the hookah was alright. Now that they remolded it, it looks way better and there a ton of waiters and waitresses, the hookahs are 15$ cash 17$ credit and 7$ refills which is alright but the food prices have been raised ridiculously. The popcorn chicken, which was 3$, is now 12$???? I went with 7 other friends and we're all 18 but i think they thought we where going to dine-and-dash or something cause they kept coming to the table to ask if we paid yet, BEFORE we even got our hookah? Its outdoors which i think is pretty stupid because one of the main reasons to hookah is to do tricks.
