Wow. Maybe I hadn't gone to this place enough to be as disappointed as other reviewers, or perhaps I'm biased.

I've only ever been to Club 94 on Fridays for their 'Salsation Fridays.' This is where I had my first date with, and a year later became engaged to my husband to be. (This is where the bias comes from.)

Drinks were pricey, but neither of us drank too much. For their Friday deal it was ten bucks per person for salsa lessons and dancing all night. I loved it. Again, I've only ever gone for their salsa Fridays, but on those nights, it was a blast. People were fun, service was great, and the dance floor was full. I never tried the food.

Unfortunately, now, it's apparently been sold off and is no more. I'm guessing the off-the-beaten-path location didn't help it much. I'll miss it.

Toward the end of my meal I was feeling a bit generous and thought I would give three stars. The meal was OK. The restaurant itself wasn't that impressive, but it was in a nice location and I liked being able to watch the planes take off. That was pretty much the main attraction.

We ordered drinks first and then food. I was excited to try a melon margarita, but it was a let down. If neon had a flavor it would be this drink. It was an unnatural green. It wasn't even margarita green. The sweet and sour syrup was more salty than anything. It tasted fake. I gulped it down quickly because I paid for it, so I was going to drink it. Enjoying it would be a different story.

The food was alright. Yes, it was overpriced; however, I kind of liked what I ordered. It was the jumbo shrimp scampi. Don't quote me on this, but I could have sworn the menu said it came with scallops and there weren't any. However, the shrimp were large and juicy, the sauce was pretty yummy, the vegetables were tasty and the rice pilaf they served with it was my favorite. The problem was that it was way too salty, and I love salt. It was so salty that my legs are now tight and swollen, which only happens when I consume massive amounts of salt.

I thought all was said and done after we paid the bill and were getting ready to leave. I stayed around in the parking lot to talk about cars with Jackson R. We watched as Club 94 attempted to turn into a Russian discotheque at 9:30pm. It was early for clubs, but late for us. He left and I got ready to go on my way and started to leave the parking lot. They turned off all the lights in the parking lot just in time for me to run into a spot on the pavement that was originally a grassy mound for dividing parking, but it had been so eroded (clearly from other people driving over it) that it resembled the actual parking spaces that had cracks and grass growing out of them. If it had simply been bare dirt I could have easily driven over it; however, it was actually a decently sized hole. The front left side of my car went down into it and scraped on the pavement as is came out. Now I have a huge dent in the front bumper thanks to their dilapidated driveway.

Our server mentioned that Club94 really comes alive at night with Theme nights for drinks and dancing. It's an old building with decor that's kind of like ski-chalet meets sports bar. There's a dance-floor, 2 large bars and a nice-sized patio. Our group sat out on the patio and chatted as we watched the planes take off at the Executive Airport right next door. The weather was clear and balmy--nice atmosphere for good drinks and eats. That's where the night turned sour (or salty...)

Service was adequate. Just seemed pretty slow to get our drinks and food out even though we were the only group dining there. My drink--which was supposed to be a melon margarita, tasted like Melon Pucker and salt. My meal--which was supposed to be mushroom and spinach ravioli in Marsala sauce--was a mish-mash of over and under cooked ravioli in what I can only guess was bottled mushroom gravy (and lots and lots of gravy)...oh and lots of salt.  After a few bites and trying to save it with some pepper, I had to push it away. Which was too bad because I was hungry.

The patio, the view and the company that night saved what could have been a bust of an evening.  Must go and continue to drink lots of water now...
